|Minimum Stay||2 - 3 nights|
At Dolphin Dunes Beach House, you’ll feel as if you’re in command of your personal beach. You can stroll via the private boardwalk from the patio to the soft sands of Ponte Vedra Beach in an instant, and from the expansive second-story deck--as well as from many of the rooms!--you can relish panoramic views of the beach, the Atlantic Ocean, and the endless skies.
The second-story deck is, in fact, one of our favorite places, and we think it will be yours too. Running the considerable width of the house, it’s furnished with chairs, loungers, and tables; because it’s covered, you can laze out there to escape from the midday sun while still listening to the murmur of the waves and reveling in the fresh salt-tinged breeze.
The deck is large enough to fit the whole gang and then some--and given that Dolphin Dunes sleeps 8 people, that’s plenty large! Just as spacious and accommodating is the living room, which opens onto the deck and enjoys the same glorious views. As well as seating galore--those roomy sofas were made for stretching out on!--there’s a desk where you can set up your laptop to take advantage of the free wifi, and a 48" smart HDTV. If you’re vacationing with kids, before you go to bed one night, cue up Frozen and let them wake up as early as they like to watch it while you and the other adults snooze for another few hours. Everyone’s happy!
The open plan of the common area means that the dining room and kitchen aren’t cut off from the living room. This makes it easy to keep an eye on the little ones while you’re preparing a meal or lingering at the table. It also means that whatever you’re doing, you can still gaze out at the ocean.
The dining table seats 8 with ease, and there’s an adjacent breakfast bar that seats 5. Whether you plan to host full-scale dinner parties or simply heat up leftovers from the previous night’s restaurant meal (and there are plenty of nearby restaurants to choose from!), you’ll find the kitchen has everything you need, from a full-size refrigerator/freezer to the all-important coffeemaker. Cookware and tableware are supplied as well; all you have to bring is the food and your appetite!
Dolphin Dunes Beach House has 4 bedrooms, so everyone has a great place to stretch out for the night. Three of the bedrooms feature queen-size beds, and the 4th has a bunk bed with a double bed and single bed, so you can sleep up to 3 kids in there. There are 2 full bathrooms on the 2nd floor, as well as a 3rd full bath on the ground floor. All the bedrooms and bathrooms will have fresh bedding and towels waiting for you, of course. The ground floor also has a washer and a dryer, so that you can pack light. In addition there’s a 2-car garage--no need to worry about parking--and of course the patio with the walkway to the beach.
No doubt you’ll be trotting back and forth on that walkway many times during your stay. The warm sands, sparkling with quartz, are perfect for everything from beachcombing to building castles. Whether you’re riding the waves or sprawled on a towel watching dolphins frolic in the water and the gulls soar overhead, you’ll feel far away from the everyday hustle and bustle.
But in actuality Dolphin Dunes is wonderfully close to the A1A, so you have easy access to St. Augustine, with its picturesque Old City; TPC Sawgrass, with two championship golf courses open to the public; Guana River State Park, home to a bevy of bird life and a popular spot for biking, hiking, canoeing, fishing, and kayaking; and shops, restaurants, and more.
Dolphin Dunes Beach House offers privacy, convenience, and accessibility—not to mention stunning ocean views. What more could you want from a vacation? So don’t wait; reserve your stay today.

This is a nice condo. The furniture and appliances are nice and the unit, as a whole, is tastefully decorated. We didn't check in until about 7:30 PM on a Saturday so by the time we unloaded and hit the beach and got back, we were able to assess the unit. We had 4 adults and 2 children so the space worked great. Especially great was the washer and dryer in the condo. There were a few problems that took about a day of different ones in and out to resolve so we felt we had to stay in the unit to be assured the problems were taken care of. Justin was our property manager and he and Frank were great about getting each of our issues resolved. The kitchen has the basic utensils, dishes and pots and pans, even a large George Foreman type grill. It would have been better if there had been a crock pot and maybe a mixer. The cleaning service does need to be a little more dilligent in their detailing. It wouldn't matter to some folks but it did to us. Some furniture not freshly dusted, little bugs in the window sills, torn sheet on one twin bed, sand on the countertops and the patio had not been swept or table top cleaned. I'm not a fan of the coded door locks because we came in from the beach one day and our door was open. We positively knew it was closed and locked when we left. We always double-checked the lock and pulled on the door to assure ourselves it was locked and most of the time someone else was standing there making sure too. We called management to see if they had someone that had come in, they were going to check on that, but we never received a return call. Nothing was missing or disturbed but it still made us a little insecure. The beach was great, family oriented, and just a short walk from our condo. The resort is away to itself and the great thing, there's a grocery store just minutes away if you do your own meals. It is about 20 miles north to St. Augustine and about the same distance south to Daytona. You can avoid the toll bridge if you us
We really enjoyed our stay at this house. The inside is very inviting, bright and clean! The outside a little dated but we didn't mind that at all. The only complaint I have is it was not very well stocked. Plenty of plates and cups but no beach towels or even pot holders. My husband would love to have a grill to use. Really my only complaint though. Plenty of beach chairs and my girls loves the beach toys. Would have liked a garage door opener. Would have made things just a bit easier but noting we couldn't figure out. Would definitely stay here again.
Wonderful views from inside the house! Wonderful extended porch with comfortable seating & great views! Comfortable beds; tastefully decorated with nice furnishings! We did have problems with opening & closing some of the patio doors; unable to manipulate flow diverter in one shower due to rust; living room sofa had worn springs; no easy access to the main door. Access door is on the beach side of the house. Overall very nice property; light, airy, welcoming!
Pros and Cons
Nice beach location
Cable TV and internet were very good
Nice water pressure
1 garage door opener didn't work
All outlets in the main floor bathrooms didn't work
1 burner on the stove didn't work
Half the beds need replacing
Sliding glass door in main room needs repair
Towels in this house were inadequate for 5 of us
Kitchen supplies for cooking for 5 and 6 didn't cut it
No grill with the house
Handrails on beach walkway need replacing. 3 careful adults still got splinters
This house is definitely not worth the money!!
One last thing....
I also am an owner of a vacation rental home (Sleeps 10)
I would be embarrassed to rent my home if it looked like this one!!
Upon arrival we found the house to be in need of some major cleaning...dead bugs on the walls, dusty ceiling fans, crumbs in the kitchen drawers, white powder substance on the dinning room table, hair in the dresser drawers, bugs in light fixtures, and the list goes on. It appeared that no one had rented the house the week before our arrival, but the cleaning staff should have done a walk through and checked things out. We called the phone # on the refrigerator, got no answer, left a message. Needless to say nobody ever returned our call. Also there is no grill and no ice maker. Over all we had a great time. Bedrooms are nice size and the views of the beach are wonderful.
This property is absolutely beautiful. The ocean view could not be more picturesque. My only real concern is the road this property is situated on. S. Ponte Vedra Blvd is a straight away between Jacksonville and St. Augustine. There is a posted speed limit of 50 miles an hour leaving the driveway of this property. It is difficult to see to the left when leaving the driveway due to shrubery. Drivers routinely hit speeds in excess of 70 miles an hour passing the property. I could only hope that the city council in this area could do more about this. The road is very dangerous.
