About Mitch & Carrie

Hi, My name is Mitch and I am a Mechanical Engineer now living in Charlotte NC, with my wife Carrie and our sons 'Bear' and Wyatt. I was born/raised in Idaho and Carrie and I got married in Sandpoint (Schwitzer to be exact) about 4 years ago. We soon after purchased this house and have since created many great memories in the area. We wanted to share what this area has to offer with others while we are away.

Mitch & Carrie purchased this house in 2011

Why Mitch & Carrie chose Lake Pend Oreille

We discovered Sandpoint soon after moving to the Northwest. We absolutely loved how much the location had to offer for recreation and the VIEWS while still boasting an upscale downtown area. We've traveled all over the Northwest and Sandpoint has proven to offer the best selection of outdoor activities for the enthusiast while still allowing you the finer amenities you may be accustomed to. We looked at properties for about a year before settling on this house, and we have been more than pleased. We hope you will feel the same way after a stay!

What makes this house unique

You would be hard pressed to find a more charismatic town in the northwest. Between my wife and myself we both enjoy skiing (both cross country and downhill), hiking, snow shoeing, sailing, motorsports, dining, hunting, fishing, camping, etc, and Sandpoint has it all. Specific to our home, you will find that it has all the seclusion you will need/want, yet is still only a couple minute drive from downtown.

Beautiful house and view

  • 4 of 5

The house is beautiful and somewhat secluded; however, there is someone staying in a camper across the front yard from the house. The dog was apparently left alone quite a bit and he barked all the time. Other than that, loved the property, the view and the set-up. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone wanting to stay in Sandpoint, Idaho.

The description of the property is very accurate and is well maintained. Mitch was very responsive and great to deal with on setting up the rental.

Make sure you go to the Pie Hut when in Sandpoint. It's amazing!!

Beautiful cabin only minutes from Sandpoint.

  • 5 of 5

This property was beautiful, and included all amenities. Although its not lake front, it feels like it as the views are spectacular and the the deck was great. Communication with the hosts was excellent; in short booking Mitch's place was as easy and relaxing as a vacation should be.

Great rental with wonderful view

  • 4 of 5

We had a first great trip to Sandpoint. This is a comfortable rental and great for the 8 of us who stayed there. The cabin got pretty warm inside during the day but with the cool mountain air it was not an issue later on after supper. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. Only thing lacking was the amount of consumables like toilet paper and paper towel but not a huge deal. Would stay here again.

Good homebase for exploring the region around Sandpoint, ID

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our 5 day stay at the house outside of Sandpoint, ID. The kitchen was large, well appointed and very functional. Plenty of dishes, silver pots and utensils were provided. All the appliances worked and were nice. The living room was large and comfortable. The house was clean, well equipped and pleasantly decorated but not too fussy or fragile for dogs or kids.

The outside deck was nice but some sort of landscaping project was underway involving gravel having been spread over the driveway, parking area and areas around the house and decks. It was recently done and a bit stark. There are two other houses in view so this house was not quite as secluded as I had imagined. None of the houses are close but occasionally you see/hear cars, people and dogs. When outside, you hear Highway 2 that runs well below the house along the river. While you can see the river, which is nice, you do not see the highway, which is also nice. Inside the house, even with some windows open, it was very quiet, felt very secluded and had a lovely view out of large front windows.

The house was in a convenient location for heading off to different parts of the area: Priest Lake, Little Priest Lake, Sandpoint, Lake Pend Oreille, and various forest roads east of Sandpoint to hike in the mountains. It was convenient to eat out or pick-up food or groceries as we returned from our outings. It was a nice place to stay.
