Cottage - It has , bath (downstairs) and living room down stairs and 2 bedrooms up stairs. About 1500 sq feet. It has 3 beds and a sofa. Sleeps up to 6 . Lots of space. It is located in Henrico County. - The 3 beds are a king and 2 queens. The kitchen has fridge with icemaker, there is a dishwasher, Keurig coffee maker and stove. - we have full cable with HBO. - Dog crate is available - dog(s) may be required to be crated when owner is not home - please discuss in advance. 10 min to museum district, 15 to short pump, 10 min to Carytown and 10 min to downtown. My main house is also available - it has 4.5 bedrooms and sleeps 8 (or more).
I provide coffee, tea, sugar, creamer and many spices for cooking.
This is a comfortable place - I spent a lot on the beds, I've found that some people can be hard on furniture and I do not have elegant appointments. The kitchen is nice but no granite - it's more of a country kitchen with most everything to be functional. If you are looking for high end you need to probably look elsewhere and pay more.

About Bill Rogers
I am a small business person - live 2 hours from guest house - I am a native Richmond person and avid historical site visitor. If you need help with a tour of sites in Richmond or Virginia I may be able to help. I currently spend most of my time in the Virginia Mountains riding Jack and enjoying the views.
Bill Rogers purchased this Cottage in 2005
Why Bill Rogers chose Lakeside
I bought this property because of it's central location and easy access to Interstate 64 and I-95 and to the fan and downtown Richmond. As it turns out it's a great place for guests for the same reason. This place is quiet and secluded but within minutes to Downtown, the fan, the west end, to Glen Allen or even to south side. It's a great jumping off point.
What makes this Cottage unique
This place is set up generically without my personal stuff in the house. It's purely a functional place to stay without too many frills. I do leave Coffee and Tea. I have populated this place to be comfortable and useful. It has some luxuries like full cable and 50 gig WIFI. There is plenty of parking. I love a comfortable bed and I think I've put nice stuff where it counts. Central air and heat works extremely well.

Excellent Host. Excellent Cottage. Excellent Stay.
This space was perfect for what we needed. There was plenty of parking space, plenty of space within the cottage, and Bill makes sure the cottage provides literally all of your essentials that make this place feel like your own home. Bill is always available if you are to need him for anything during your stay. The home is extremely well kept and is within short driving distance to all shops and attractions one could want. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone in need of place to stay while in the Richmond area.
Ian, thanks for the kind words. Come back soon. Bill
Nice area and plenty of space.
Wonderful place to stay
This place is amazing especially if you have dogs like we did. The dogs had a very large fenced in area to play. Everything was very clean and the beds were comfortable. There was more than ample items in the kitchen. Water pressure in the shower was exceptional. Bill answered every question and was a pleasure to work with. We even had the pleasure of visiting with his housekeeper and she is without a doubt one of the, if not the best there is when it comes to cleaning.
Met our needs perfectly.
We originally had planned for five members of our family to reunite in Richmond for a weekend. The Noreaster prevented two from coming but we all would have been comfortable had they joined us. The master bedroom had a TV and a nice sitting chair so introverts could escape. Three could spread out and do research together in the kitchen and not disturb others who were watching TV in the living room. There was a large flat fenced -in backyard where my granddaughter could toss a ball for my service dog giving him a well-deserved break as well. It was clean and the host was available by phone to answer any questions we might have. The location was also good for us. The Stapels Mill train station was close and there were plenty of UBER's about to get us into the city as needed. Cost of an UBER to museum district was about $12 for those who could use that info. The place was very clean. There is an old pine base for the bath sink that is worn to a shabby chic veneer as is the kitchen table. Both surfaces will accept stains. These kinds of stains are considered their "charm" and they are not dirt. The only reason I mention this is that a previous reviewer had said the place was filthy and we found it to be remarkably clean. I cannot figure out where that review came from. We were very pleased with our stay here. Thank you
Please come back soon...
Easy to access and close to major thoroughfares inneichmond. Neat amd clean
This guest house is just as shown. The rooms are quite large and adequate. Comfortable beds, large shower and good lighting in the bathroom, full size laundry, plenty of parking, easy to access all main thoroughfares in Richmond. The owner was very responsive to any questions and his instructions are clear. It is semi-attached to another larger home which would make this really suitable for a family reunion or other group stay. Would choose this property again!
Great location and perfect for our needs!
3rd time here visiting family. Bill is a great host with a home that has everything you can ask for. Thank you.
