Our stay at the apartment was great. It was clean and check in to get the keys was easy. Was close to Central Park and Downtown was easy to get on Subway which was 2 blocks away. Will definately recommend to anyone visiting NY

Great Location!

  • 4 of 5

Apartment is small but all you need in NYC is there. You are only 4 blocks from the 6 train that is a main line that runs north to south. Even though we were that close to the subway we still averaged around 10 miles of walking a day. NYC sightseeing is alot of walking! Need a vacation from my vacation! :)

Great location, good value!

  • 4 of 5

Our reservation was for this apartment which clearly says only one flight up. When we arrived we were moved to a building 2 doors down into an apartment on the 3rd floor (walk up). The lady told us it was because it was nicer. Not sure that's true but the apartment was fine. As others have said, the rooms are small but we had no problem with that. And for this price you could NEVER get a hotel that would sleep 5 people and that was our main objective, to all be together. Wifi and TV worked fine. Check in was easy. I would definitely stay there again.

It was OK

  • 3 of 5

Apartment oddly laid out, with a rollaway/twin bed tucked behind the door in one room, no place to really sit n chat except a futon couch in living room - so no way to have guest over to converse, terrible lighting > only lighting was awful overhead ceiling lighting in Every room which creates No ambiance at all. More of an institutional feeling.

Apartment was quite chilly n damp (especially the first room) as the heat in the building was turned off (it was April and the nights were quite cool) this made sleeping uncomfortable- we were only told that heaters were stored in the closets on our 3rd day as we finally did I nquire. TV randomly decided not to work - had to have someone come over n fix it.

Which was done right away the next day.

The gentleman was very professional n polite.

Why there is No binder outlining everything in the apartment puzzled us?!

Shower was a bit wonky in terms of temperature and pressure but after a while we got the hang of it.

The entire apartment needs a good paint job, it appears they Only applied the white primer- so all around door handles, back of bathroom door etc was quite dirty with finger marks etc.

The first room is nothing but a bed (on top of a boxspring on the floor) and Nothing else (nothing else could fit as the room is so small - again which is ok being NYC - But there was Absolutely No place to store clothes, no end table etc.

On a good note the area is great !

Close to the 2nd ave subway

Communication was very good with Ari and her team, they were prompt at rectifying any issues.

I think Ari and her group might have other properties in the city?

I would b open to renting again from her, as communication etc was quite good and professional, but I don't think we'll stay again in this particular location.

Owner's Response: This apartment laid out GREAT, a perfect floor plan especially for sharing apartment; Family with kids, a group of friends. The bedrooms are completely separated, the bathroom kitchen and living room are between, so every room has a great excess to the those common area. This is the layout that all guests always looking for at a 2 bedroom apartment. Lighting is perfect; ceiling lights that light each room give the apartment great lighting. As an extra we added lights at the sides of the beds and some standing lights. Heating is control by the building, when the Temp is above 50F the heating stop, that is why we put extra space heaters for each room. We let the guest know about them at check in. The guests also can call and ask if they have any questions and do not have to wait 3 days. The living room has a nice queen size sofa bed, side table, coffee table and a large TV on top of a nice TV table. So plenty of room to seat and chat with friends. The apartment has many pictures and decorate very nice. There is no twin bed behind any door, no idea what the guests are talking about. We have a nice queen size bed at both bedrooms, one room is larger than the other. The apartment has 3 nice size closets to store anything you like. Nothing was wrong with the cable or TV, the guests just did not put the cable box on after it timed out(like any box), we just simply came and put it on for them. We had spend sometime on the phone to try to help the guests with the TV but they did not understand. All remote are labeled clearly. We always meet our guests at check in and explain them everything about the apartment. This apartment is a perfect size, 2 bedroom apartment with a great layout and amazing location in NYC. Please do not expect a large country house. This is Manhattan. It would be 10 time larger than any hotel room.

Little hideaway in the upper east side

  • 4 of 5

This apartment worked nicely for our group of 3 women. We each had a separate room to sleep in which was great. The main bedroom is very bright with a backyard view and the rest of the apartment is very dark with no view. However, if you are just looking for a spot to lay your head it is great. The smaller bedroom is directly on the stairwell and the comings and goings are noisy late and early but this is not a parry building which was good. A howling dog woke us up from an apartment on the first floor but that is not the fault of this apartment and unfortunately is a drawback to living closely to others. The bathroom is New York small but great hot water. Everything was very clean! I did request wine glasses and blender which were not provided. No wine glasses is a very strange thing...owner said they broke so decided not to provide. Buy thick or plastic ones then is my response. The only other drawback was I could not get ahold of the owner before arriving as requested (texted as informed in an email) ..texted 2 numbers without response from airport and then train. Finally got a hold of house keeper but had a 30 minute wait for her in front of building. All in all we enjoyed the location which is the best part of this apartment. So close to the park and museums, plus loved the neighborhood. Also, just 4 blocks to the subway so a lovely respite in Manhattan.

Owner's Response: Please remember that we cant control dogs barking, loud people, ambulance or fire truck noice... This could happened in any hotel or apartment. We do not provide a blender, it is not on our ad. We provide many clear glasses and coffee glasses. We provide all basic needed for a kitchen for a vacation apartment. We cant compete with someone individual kitchen and needs. We give to each guests 3 number to call when they land, they will always get one of us. As flight can be delay or early, as traffic can be bad, we ask guests to update us if there are changes to arrival time. We check flight also but sometime we are dealing with long delays. As we are not a hotel and we do not have a reception 24 hours a day, the guests should understand that if they are early or delayed they might have to wait a few min. It is a great apartment at a great location and provided very clean with all necessary for a short stay.
