Detailed Description:

Desert Sky is a sweet retreat perfectly located for your upcoming visit to Santa Fe, only 14 minutes (.7 miles) from the Plaza. The attention to detail the owners took, shows the love they have of the newly remodeled home.  They added gorgeous hand painted and carved doors to the original adobe home and selected one of a kind furnishing with high end antique furniture and artwork. The remodel is exquisite. The landscaping is perfect and you can enjoy a morning cup of coffee and evening glass of wine and barbeque. You will be right across from the Santa Fe River park and can follow that directly down to the Plaza and Canyon Road, passing first through the rail yard district. The living room features and authentic kiva fireplace, wood beam vigas, a comfortable seating area for four with a leather sofa and a flat screen TV. The living room opens to the dinning room and kitchen which opens up to the second patio making it perfect to prepare an out door meal. The kitchen has high end appliances lovely wooden cabinets and granite counters and a dish washer.  Each of the two bedrooms has a queen size bed. The bathroom has stunning Mexican tile and is situated  between the bedrooms in a Jack and Jill lay out. There is plenty of closet space and air conditioning and ceiling fans in each bedroom.

About Wendy Kapp

A note from Wendy Kapp- Owner of Two Casitas Santa Fe Vacation Rentals

Having been raised in Chicago, my soul longed for the massive blue skies and mountains I first saw when my mother, well-known watercolor artist Phyllis Kapp of Waxlander Gallery, introduced me to this magnificent area when I was 6 years old.

While returning west in 1975, I came through Santa Fe and fell in love with Northern New Mexico once again. I found the people here, especially back in '75, to be the most authentic people I had ever met and I decided to make Santa Fe my home. My extensive knowledge from living here for since 1975 makes me the perfect, local hostess to give you tips on making your stay memorable. I hope you come to love Santa Fe and, in-turn Two Casitas, as much as I do.

Why Wendy Kapp chose Downtown

Location, location, location is why chose these homes; walk everywhere.

What makes this house unique

When you stay with Two Casitas you stay like a local, not like a tourist, and experience Santa Fe like you live here. Who knows, maybe you will someday!

Small, but in a great location.

  • 4 of 5

This casita was in the perfect spot to explore Santa Fe. It's only a few blocks from the main square and the new Railyard District, so being able to walk was a plus. Instructions were straightforward and easy, and they were very quick to answer questions. It is small, so it would be a tight fit for four, but it was perfect for two women on a mom's getaway. It was well stocked, and the complimentary bottle of wine and snacks was a nice touch. We enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful, peaceful casita in a fantastic location

  • 5 of 5

My mother and I thoroughly enjoyed our 6 nights at this lovely Casita. It is as gorgeous as the photos - with beautiful furnishings and a wonderful diversity of art. This peaceful retreat is set back from the street, and the small private patio was a perfect place to relax with a glass of wine (thank you for the welcome wine & snacks!) after our days out exploring. It's a perfect size for two people -- we really appreciated each having our own comfortable bed. It's also in a great location to explore the historic plaza and surrounding areas. The plaza is just a short walk, less than 10 minutes. There's so much to see and do in the Santa Fe area, and we'd highly recommend the Desert Sky Casita to others looking for a comfortable and memorable place to stay.

Charming Casita close to the Plaza

  • 5 of 5

This casita is charming and within a pleasant walk to the Plaza and Canyon Road. A lot of thought was put into the decor ( I especially loved all the doors ) and it is stocked with everything you might need ( even umbrellas !) It is behind the owners own home with a small walled garden area. Susan, the owner, brought us a bottle of wine on our arrival and was very friendly. If you visit during a cold part of the year there was in-floor radiant heat which was wonderful. We would absolutely stay here again on our next trip to Santa Fe. The only negative is if 3 or 4 people are staying - there is a small sofa and two chairs. The sofa is quite comfortable to sit and read or watch TV but the chairs are not really comfortable. We had three people so we took turns with the seating. But, that is a small complaint as overall the casita was beautiful and had major Santa Fe charm.

Stay was great

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed this Casita very much. The people there were very nice and helpful to make our stay very enjoyable. Artist Susan Logan and her husband were great hosts and suggested things to do and places to eat in Santa Fe. Susan even took us around to places.

One of our favorite things we did was going on the food walk at the railroad station.
