Dick and Pam owned a home at Lake of the Ozarks, Mo when they decided to start traveling the country in their motorhome in 2010. They then placed their Missouri home with Homeaway as a vacation rental and were very successful, receiving all 5 star reviews for their venture.
Dick was born in Eastern Washington and was familiar with the Olympic Peninsula so they decided to visit and fell in love. Having traveled most of the 48 contiguous states looking for the perfect place to settle, they decided that Port Angeles/Sequim area was it! They wanted a place with a view where they could put their motorhome and have a small house for guests to visit. They found it after meeting a couple at an Olympic Cellars Winery concert who referred them to this little blue house just down the road from where they lived. After receiving directions they drove up the next day and WOW, it was just perfect!!!. They lived in their motorhome with hook ups to the site and were able to enjoy entertaining at their new little home as well as having a wonderful place for guests to visit. They built the wonderful deck and expanded the park model bedroom to allow for a queen size bed. Pam is a crazy gardener, so she had a blast transforming the yucky front yard into a beautiful garden paradise.
After 3 years living here, they decided that it was time to move into a "real" house, so they bought their neighbors home, two doors down. They love it here and don't ever want to move elsewhere. They hope you will love it too as they have decided to share the experience with you.
Pamela Ehtee purchased this cottage in 2012
The view is fantastic!
What's not to love about the Olympic Peninsula? The weather is mild. The scenery is fantastic. The outdoor activities are endless. The serenity is healing and the beauty awesome. This property included all of those features.
The view of the Strait and watching the cruise ships and cargo ships go by all day and night, plus watching the eagles and red-tail hawks, seagulls, quail, deer and many other birds and wildlife just made this our perfect place.
The Eagle's Rest was perfect for our little Peninsula getaway. The home was very clean and on arrival was just as advertised. The location was perfect for the sight seeing we wanted to do, and all of the recommendations we received from Pam and Richard were spot on. The fire pit was a nice addition to relaxing on the deck after a long day of exploring, and the view of the straight was spectacular. The home was comfortable for three adults and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again on my next trip to Port Angeles.
We had a great vacation and the comfort of this rental played a large role in that.
Great location overlooking the Strait! The house was just the right size for the two of us and it was clean and well-furnished with everything we needed. We especially liked the proximity to Olympic National Park and downtown Port Angeles.
If we travel to that area again, this will be our first choice for a VRBO.
Thanks to the owners for their hospitality and sharing their home.
What a perfect setting for a few days away from the heat! The views were amazing! It was so much fun watching the barges and cruise ships go by right in your own backyard. The house was extremely well stocked and immaculate. I loved the fresh flowers that were left. I loved the landscaping. What not to like!
Thanks for sharing your property. We had a great time.

What a great retreat from the city! Beautiful views from the deck where we ate all our meals. House was cozy and had all the amenities we needed. Located close to lots of outdoor adventures!
My husband and I chose this property based on previous reviews and we were not disappointed! This was our first time in the area and wanted to make the most of our time there. We love to hike and spent four days visiting Olympic National Park, Rialto Beach, the Hoh Rain Forest, and whale watching in the Straits of Juan de Fuca. Pamela's cottage was the perfect location for unwinding in the evenings on the peaceful deck after our busy days sight-seeing. The washer/dryer unit was a wonderful amenity as was the full kitchen. We made breakfast every morning before heading out and the cottage felt more like our home away from home during our short but wonderful stay. Pam is an avid gardner and takes great pride in her rental inside and out. She is available if you need anything and willing to go the extra mile as a VRBO owner. We are frequent VRBO renters, traveling throughout the US and this cottage is one I look forward to renting the next time we are in the area.
My wife and I recently stayed at this vacation property. The clean and well equipped house was great for the two of us. The large deck allowed us plenty of room to have our family in the area over for a meal. The views were great. The owner was gracious and accommodating.
We are located within walking distance of the Olympic Discovery Trail which is a fantastic hiking and biking trail that extends for miles in either direction. The Olympic National Park Hurricane Ridge is a 45 minute drive with many trails and fantistic scenic views. The Coast portion of the Park is only an hour or two drive as well. Beautiful Lake Crescent with Marymere Falls is a fantastic day trip and a must do. Charter fishing for Salmon and Halibut out of Seiku is available. Don't forget your passport. A ferry trip over to Victoria, BC is a wonderful day trip as well. See Butchart Gardens or have high tea at the Empress Hotel.
Outdoor activities abound here in our area. Watching eagles and other birds can be done while relaxing on our beautiful deck. You don't have to go far to enjoy our beautiful piece of heaven.
