About Pamela Ehtee

Dick and Pam owned a home at Lake of the Ozarks, Mo when they decided to start traveling the country in their motorhome in 2010. They then placed their Missouri home with Homeaway as a vacation rental and were very successful, receiving all 5 star reviews for their venture.

Dick was born in Eastern Washington and was familiar with the Olympic Peninsula so they decided to visit and fell in love. Having traveled most of the 48 contiguous states looking for the perfect place to settle, they decided that Port Angeles/Sequim area was it! They wanted a place with a view where they could put their motorhome and have a small house for guests to visit. They found it after meeting a couple at an Olympic Cellars Winery concert who referred them to this little blue house just down the road from where they lived. After receiving directions they drove up the next day and WOW, it was just perfect!!!. They lived in their motorhome with hook ups to the site and were able to enjoy entertaining at their new little home as well as having a wonderful place for guests to visit. They built the wonderful deck and expanded the park model bedroom to allow for a queen size bed. Pam is a crazy gardener, so she had a blast transforming the yucky front yard into a beautiful garden paradise.

After 3 years living here, they decided that it was time to move into a "real" house, so they bought their neighbors home, two doors down. They love it here and don't ever want to move elsewhere. They hope you will love it too as they have decided to share the experience with you.

Pamela Ehtee purchased this cottage in 2012

Why Pamela Ehtee chose Olympic Peninsula

The view is fantastic!

What makes this cottage unique

What's not to love about the Olympic Peninsula? The weather is mild. The scenery is fantastic. The outdoor activities are endless. The serenity is healing and the beauty awesome. This property included all of those features.

The view of the Strait and watching the cruise ships and cargo ships go by all day and night, plus watching the eagles and red-tail hawks, seagulls, quail, deer and many other birds and wildlife just made this our perfect place.

Great view, good base camp

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I were lucky enough to stay here on a short trip to the PNW. It's close enough to Port Angeles that we never wanted for anything, but far enough away to enjoy the incredible view without traffic noise. The house provided everything two people needed to prepare and meal and great water pressure for a well needed shower after a day if hiking. The house is a great base camp for trips lake crescent, hurricane, whale tours and more. We even managed a trip to Ruby Beach. Pam and Rich were very welcoming. We are already planning a trip back and we will definitely be staying here again.

AMAZING Stay and Views!

  • 5 of 5

We spent the July 4th week at Eagles Rest and it was everything we needed for a perfect vacation. Having never been to the area you never know what you are getting into. The location was perfect, the rental was perfect and the views were spectacular! I would like to be able to offer insight into restaurants but our favorite was Eagles Rest! If there was anything we needed it was quickly handled - needed a propane refill for the grill - done! Even the finch feeder got refilled when we mentioned how great it was watching them. Perfect location for day trips to Olympic Park sites. We would come back here in a heartbeat! Being from KS we had some concern since there is no AC in the rental. Even in July it wasn't needed! Evenings we could have used another jacket or fleece so we really enjoyed the gas fire pit! Thank you again Pam for an amazing stay!!

Great place with an awesome view!

  • 5 of 5

Wow, what a great place to stay! We just got back from a vacation to Seattle and ONP and this was the highlight of our trip. The cottage was perfect for my husband, daughter, and me. The house is beautifully maintained and kept - everything looks new. The landscaping is gorgeous, but the best part has to be the deck and the view from it. It is huge with lots of seating and a great firepit we really enjoyed. I really didn't want to leave the place in the mornings, and it was a relaxing place to come back to at the end of the day. The view is spectacular - better than the pictures, and we saw eagles swooping by and deer a few yards over. We were outside quite a bit, but even if the weather would have been iffy (it was beautiful when we were there) the views are almost as good from the kitchen table and sofa. Pam is a friendly host and made sure we had everything we needed. It is a few miles from downtown Port Angeles, but to us that was a good thing - a quiet place to relax. We hope to return!

A Perfect Spot for Two

  • 5 of 5

We have finally returned home from all our travels and I wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at Eagles Rest (very appropriately named!). The Straits of San Juan views from the deck (and kitchen, and bedroom, and living room!) were mesmerizing; and we found it difficult to head out each day for our Olympic adventures. Our consolation was knowing we could return to that beautiful deck, welcoming fire pit, and lovely landscaping each day. Pamela and Dick even brought over fresh birdseed for the goldfinches, and a patio umbrella to help shade the lounge chairs. Eagles Rest is small (the deck and covered porch make up for it-outdoor living at its best!) , very efficiently equipped; the washer/dryer combo really came in handy after our hiking adventures. The location is quiet and secluded (yet close to Port Angeles and all the Olympic venues); and both inside and outside were spotlessly clean. I would easily recommend Eagles Rest to either a couple, or an individual.
