Owner's Response: Our thanks to this guest for taking the time to write a review of our get-a-way. It is on a quiet street in a rural area. The price is commisserate with the community in which it is located. Really appreciate the feedback on the cleanliness of the home. It is a family home that we still use as frequently as possible. Welcome these guests for a return visit.

location sympa au coeur de la floride

  • 5 of 5

Owner's Response: We really, really appreciate this very nice review of our little get-a-way. When I first spoke to the guests, I was concerned that they were coming all the way from France and would be dissappointed in our little quaint town of Lake Placid and our rural area. We are beyond happy that they enjoyed their stay and felt that the home was very nice. We would love to have them return for another visit. Merci beaucoup!! Here are their comments translated into English: nice rental in the heart of florida ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very good performance for this house in the heart of Florida. We were looking for a place to our stay we dive into American culture (orlando and miami are too "international" in our opinion), but not far from everything. The premises are very welcoming, sometimes surprised to see the French here. You must speak English, no choice. Orlando, Miami, Tampa and Naples are about 2 hours, outings at the surroundings are nice: crocodile farm, park, walk around the lakes (there are alligators and snakes, be careful ...). The nearby town of Sebring offers all the amenities of big cities. If you are respectful of the US crop then you are welcome. The house is very functional: 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room and even a garage. The agent properties and the owner took much trouble, you feel like "home". Therefore, we recommend this property.

Nice place. Good price.

  • 4 of 5

The house was nice and well maintained. Everything worked properly. We had a couple small visitors - 2 lizards and a palmetto bug, but this is pretty typical of Florida and would not say it was a concern. The property manager was responsive and easy to work with. The neighborhood looks a bit rundown and this was definitely the nicest house in the area but there is a good security system and we had no issues. The neighbors we saw were pleasant and friendly. The neighbor behind the house has chickens and 2 roosters. If you are a light sleeper you should bring earplugs as they start to crow loudly at 4am daily. The house comes well equipped with dishes and cooking utensils. This property is best for people who just want a place to sleep and cook meals as the living room den area is a bit disjointed and does not provide a great area for gathering as a big group to watch movies or play games.

Owner's Response: This guest gave a fair and honest assessment of the property and its amenities. The rental rate was established to reflect the neighborhood where the property is located. Very happy that the guest stilled enjoyed the home and were happy with the customer service provided by our property manager. As the guest stated, neighbors are friendly but not intrusive. Yes...in this rural area there are a few chickens that are a natural alarm clock not enjoyed by everyone. In the rainy season, a palmetto bug will find its way inside on occassion. Something to consider on using the larger living room versus the den for television. We are encouraged that the guest was happy overall with the accommodations. We would love to have them return for a future visit.

WONDERFUL HOME!!!

  • 5 of 5

Such a nice comfortable home to stay in while we spent a week at a church camp retreat. It was very clean and there was plenty of room to relax in while we were there.

The owners were very accommodating and we plan on staying there annually when we visit Lake Placid!

Comfy House in Lake Placid!

  • 4 of 5

Very clean and comfortable 3 bedroom, 2 bath home in Lake Placid! Our family of 7 definitely had plenty of room to unwind in the evenings. The owners and property manager were wonderful through the entire process! Would definitely recommend to anyone on a budget needing to stay in the area - take earplugs though if you don't want to be awakened by the roosters before sunrise! :)

Owner's Response: We greatly appreciate the wonderful comments from our guests. We visit our home away from home frequently and strive to make sure our guests enjoy their stay. Yes there are chickens in this rural area and they act as natural alarm clocks. Our property manager, Erika works hard to ensure the guests have pleasant stay in comfortable, clean home.
