This charming carriage house apartment is located at the rear of our Victorian home in the beautiful Top of the Hill neighborhood. An open plan 1 bed/1 bath space is beautifully decorated with a sophisticated nautical theme. The appropriate galley style kitchen is spacious and fully equipped. The bluestone patio area outside your door is semi-private and within the elegant formal gardens of the main house. A grill, dining table and chairs are located on the patio.

The Top of the Hill neighborhood is locate a few blocks in from Bellevue Ave, south of Kay ST and North of Old Beach Rd. It is a neighborhood of large, elegant Victorian homes. Our house is a short walk (1.0) to downtown. Yet, the street is quiet and peaceful. Downtown, Washington Sq,Tennis Hall of Fame, the Cliff Walk, Bellevue Ave shopping, the Visitors Center are all within a short walking distance. You can arrive in Newport, park your car and walk, pedi-cab or Uber your way around town.

Also, Greenough Pl is known as the doggie Champs Elysees because most of the neighborhood likes to walk their dogs on the street due to it's lack of street traffic and charm. You will love the apartment, neighborhood and general location of this apartment.

About Maura Lindsay

Having moved to Newport over 18 years ago, I am still in awe of the beauty of this city by the sea. No matter where I travel in the world, I always feel a sense of peace and calm as I drive over the Newport Bridge.

Connecticut is where I was born and raised. My family spent many summers in RI, primarily in Weekapaug. Yet, we regularly visited relatives in Jamestown and I can recall my first visit to Newport via Ferry ( prior to the Newport Bridge). Of course, I was in awe of the beauty and history of Newport. And, I feel blessed to find myself living here today.

My husband Tom ( an MD ) and I live here with our 2 West Highland Terriers

( Rexy and Oscar) and a Perisan cat named Winston. We love animals and are open to considering allowing your pet to stay with you. Although, we reserve the right to deny it under certain circumstances.

My husband practices medicine in MA and I started a business two years ago following my passion for antiques and interiors. Tresor is the name of my fine consignment shop and estate sale business. It is located conveniently .5 mile from our house at 134 Spring St at the corner of Church St. Stop in an visit when you are walking downtown. We are somewhat serial homeowners and have lived in several different homes and neighborhoods in town. This property is beautifully situated in an elegant, quiet neighborhood yet is convenient to so much. The ability to walk to many of our favorite places...... our coffee shops, the Jane Pickens Theater, the wharves for dining etc. You can park your car and walk everywhere. We love this street......you'll see why!

What makes this cottage unique

You enter the carriage house along bluestone path through the formal gardens. Inside is a charming open plan LR, DR Kitchen area with exposed wood beams, decorated with ship models and 19th and 20th C ship paintings. The furnishings are a mix of modern and antique. The kitchen is fully equipped and has all new appliances. There is ample closet space in the bedroom and a large coat closet in the entryway for beach gear, chairs, boogey boards etc.

We are located in the center of town and much is within walking distance including Bowens and Bannisters Wharves, Bellevue Ave Shopping, Tennis Hall of Fame, Washington Sq and it's historic sites, The Jane Pickens Theater, The Redwood Library, Newport Art Museum, The Cliff Walk, First Beach/Easton's Beach in Newport and so much more. We are also just a few blocks from Bellevue Ave where you can catch a Trolley to all the mansions. Of course, the Visitors Center is also less than a mile walk.
