About Kathleen and Jim Huston

Jim and I have lived in Willow since 1991. Jim has been in the state since 1955 and till he retired worked for Alaska State Parks. He has extensive knowledge of the state and places to visit. He has been building a golf course for several years and it is his dream to finish it some day. Jim president of the Willow Chamber of Commerce and is on the Board of Supervisors for the Willow Fire Dept. Every year he puts on a golf tournament on the ice a week after the Iditarod restart.

Kathleen has been in Alaska since 1977 . I have run the bed and breakfast since 1995. Each year we get busier. I worked for the School District till I retired from that job.

We raised five children who all live outside at present. We have 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. I like to garden and do crafts. Reading is on my list of favorite things to occupy my time.

Jim and I are both active in our Church. We are very active in the community. We founded the Willow Historical and Wildlife Foundation. Jim and I like to go outside to warmer climates and see family in the winter.

We have two dogs and Australian shepherd and a Bichonarrian. We also have pet geese who are very good watch geese.

Why Kathleen and Jim Huston chose Alaska

This property is on 200 acres and is part of a family Eastate. It has been in the family since the 60's. It has two lakes and an excellent view of the mountains. Walking trails. Wildlife viewing. It is a family homestead and has been in the family for 50 years. It is surrounded by wilderness and wildlife.

Jim built the house by himself many years and now we are remodeling.

What makes this estate unique

Besides being a bed and breakfast we have two great apartments that we rent. The penthouse is located on the 3rd floor with 1800 ft of space. It has a fabulous view of one of our lakes and the mountains.
