I (owner) live just two blocks away, and I love to fish. Since I have two boats, and fish often, it is ok to ask share a fishing trip with me. My trips normally last from about 2-hours to all day and can be set up to fit your schedule. Both Boats are 22 ft long, center console bay fishing boats. For shorter trips I can take 3-4 passengers. For the longer or all day trips, no more than 3 people. I also have the fishing equipment and safety gear to share. Splitting the cost will save you hundreds. so if you are interested in fishing, but, do not want to pay a guide $400-$900 for a 4-6 hour trip, this could be a great option for you. If you are interested, please ask for information sheet.

We offer Weekly or Monthly or longer rates. We do not offer daily rentals, unless we have 3 or more days sandwiched between reservations.

This is a great place for; Families, Couples, Retired Folks, Winter Texans, Fisherman, Traveling Nurses, or Work Crews.

This beautiful WATERFRONT townhouse is right on a wide and attractive canal looking out over the basin, offering sunset views that are spectacular.

The modern and updated townhome that is totally/fully furnished and very spacious 3-bedroom, 3-full baths. When we say totally furnished, you will see why most people say we have more useful furnishing than any rental they have ever stayed at. You need nothing but your clothes and personal items.

The Island was spectacular last year 2016 and even more so this this year 2017 as of this update - Memorial Day, 2017. Our Clean beaches, clean and clear water conditions, they look like someone raked and cleaned the beaches to perfection. People are catching fish right in the surf, and weather has been very good - maybe not perfect on windy days, but, great weather is predicted again this summer. I have been here for years, and never seen back-to-back seasons like this before. SO, PLAN EARLY – we will fill up fast, don’t miss out.

Our Check-in/out is the most simple, quick method you have ever used. We have installed new electronic push button locks on the entry doors. We will send you a 4-digit code via email, and that will be your key. No check-in-out, and no front desk, no paperwork, just arrive whenever you want, and leave whenever you want (not later than scheduled checkout time)

If you are considering extended stays, or maybe a winter Texas, or a worker(s) who need flexible or custom rental, just let me know and I can work with you on a custom rate that will be less than the posted rates using this quote tool.

If you are planning on Spring Break, book early, because the island will fill up and this is a very comfortable place for a group to stay and it is close to the beach and the spring break festivities.

About the Townhome:

• Our North Padre Island condo was built setting right on the water:

• 3 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms

• Townhome is fully furnished and very comfortable with all the amenities you could want.

• Three bedrooms sleep 8 comfortably

• Additional sleep areas - the front room on large sofa, love seat and oversize recliner, use a blow up bed for up to 12 guests.

• 4 modern large flat panel televisions, one in living room area and all bedrooms have their own TV

• All TVs are all equipped with Direct TV and DVR and 500 + channels, Netflix and ROKU. NFL Channel, and more

• Upstairs is the master bedroom and guest bedroom, each with their own private “in-suite” full bath.

• The master has a queen bed, and there is also a futon that makes into a full size bed.

• The full bath in the master has a double sink and vanity, with a huge walk-in closet.

• The guest bedroom, has a full bed and twin bed, and it is set up with small office, desk, and computer docking station.

• The entire home is equipped with 200-Meg high speed WiFi internet.

• For your convenience there is even a large capacity front loading washer/dryer in the upstairs laundry room.

• Downstairs is another bedroom and a full bath. That bedroom has a queen bed, and small desk workstation.

• The large front room and dining room take one complete wall of windows and doors, all looking out onto the water.

• Very comfortable seating around a large common area, all looking out over the water.

• Other side of the downstairs common area, is a large dining area, with table and chairs for 8 people, expandable to room for 12.

• The inside is comfortably furnished with good modern furniture, beach/ocean type theme

• There is a wood burning fireplace, brand new A/C system, and comfort throughout

• All three bathrooms are full baths with tubs and showers.

• Mater bedroom has large walk-closet that is so large, it could be used as an additional sleeping area for kids

• All rentals include a week supply of : Soap, shampoo, condition, dish washer detergent, laundry detergent, paper towels, TP

Both units also have brooms, cleaning agents, vacuum, and spare home supplies.

Stepping out the back door, opens to a two story deck and boat dock. The top deck is equipped with nice new wicker type patio furniture and 6 sturdy patio chairs around large table and this area is large enough for large groups and view is beautiful.

The lower patio has a boat dock/sling and the boat landing area is equipped with running water for washing down your boat and a fish cleaner with running water on it to make it easy to clean your catch.

The West side patio has an additional patio table and four chairs for your use as you either of the gas or charcoal grills provided.

The views from the patio/deck are breathtaking and provide shade in the morning, great for your morning coffee breaks. The east side patio, has separate patio table and chairs and provide great shade and breezes for afternoon drinks.

There is great fishing right from the patio and many a large lunker speckled trout and red fish have been taken from right there. The canals in the area have numerous underwater lights. These lights are referred to as "GREEN LIGHTS" because at night, the put off a brilliant glow of green and small bait fish are attracted to the lights - thus, fishing in the lighted areas is great for catching the larger sport fish which are also feeding on the smaller bait fish in the green glow water.

If you prefer to fish on the beach, swim, or just take a stroll on the sandy beaches, Bob Hall Pier and Padre Island National Seashore Park are just a 3-4 minute drive (or 15 minute walk) to the beaches......Also, we are less than a half mile from Schlitterbahn Water Park Just a great place to live or vacation at.

We personally lived there for more than 10 years, and know how nice the condo and area are. So, please enjoy them, and have a great stay and have fun and relax and make it one of those vacations that you remember for years.

Also, we know that sometimes things happen, things get broken, or issues pop up. We understand that and just ask that you make us aware of any problems or issues so that we can take care of them before the next guest arrive.

About Jack Holmbeck

Semi Retired Ex-banker and entrepreneur with a diversified background. Loved the area so much, he decided to move there and be close to the water and fishing year round. After living in the home myself until 2013 full time, now, i just spend about 6 months a year and spend the rest of the year traveling or most often in Austin to be near my son and his wife - while waiting on our first grandchild.

Why Jack Holmbeck chose Corpus Christi

We wanted to be on the water, have a boat, and nice place for beach access and a place that was convenient for island living, and laid back life.

What makes this townhome unique

Many people say that they love the place for the comfort, deck with beautiful views, and a tremendous appreciation for the underwater green fishing lights. These attract fish, and the fishing is great at night. The warm gentle breezes in the summer and setting on the East Side shade patio while having a drink is also special.

But, the most UNIQUE BENEFIT about this property, is that the owner is a fisherman with a couple of nice boats, and does not mind taking guests along with weather permitting, and some coordination to make it happen. Below is a general description of how it could be possible to share a fishing trip at huge savings.

I DO NOT CHARGE for this at all. What I do expect, is for the guest to share some of the cost of the fishing trip, but, paying for the bait, their food, drinks, and a portion of the fuel expense. These are not charges, it is simply sharing of the trip expenses only, just as you would do if you split cost of a fishing trip with a friend or family member. Also note, I am NOT a licensed captain (yet) and there are a lot better fishermen and pro guides available. I have been boating and owned my own boats for 43 years, so, i do know how to handle the water, and responsibilities of taking people with you in any type of boat ride. If you are interested, please ask for information sheet, that has a lot more information on how to make this happen. If you prefer to use a fishing guide, i would recommend that actually, it is only the cost that they charge that is the problem. So, if you want fun, & save$ just let me know.

Master Bath attacheds, and has huge walk in closet. 2nd upstairs Bedroom- has small office area, desk, docking station, lights, file cabinet, etc. and private bath in suite. chest of drawers and TV sets on it, Open closet for storage and odds-ends, bed is full on bottom, and twin on top. Downstairs - guest room. It is the only bedroom without a full bath built into the suite, but, it is just one step away. Full bed, dresser and another small work station deck.

The condo was absolutely beautiful and had everything supplied that we could possibly need. The Padre Island area was beautiful and we had a wonderful winter break from the cold Ohio weather. Jack was a great host and made sure we had all our needs met. He lived close by and when we had a couple of small issues arise, he came right over and took care of the problems. I would recommend this condo to anyone looking for a great vacation. The fishing was great and we returned to Ohio with several pounds of red snapper.

Owner's Response: What a great couple! My guest were winter Texans, and i got the opportunity to meet and get to know them pretty well. By midway through their 3-month stay, i did not consider them guests any longer - but, did consider them my Friends. If anyone gets a chance to rent to these folks, i do encourage you to do so. Condo is great but the owner is amazing!

The condo had everything you would need for a great stay. We had 4 adults and 2 boys ages 9 and 7. There was plenty of room for all of us. The deck over the water was a great place for our 9 year old to drop his pole whenever he wanted. The owner, Jack, checked in with us several times during our stay to see if we needed anything. The washer needed a repair and he had it done right away. Jack took our family out to fish two different times and the boys had an exciting time catching enough for us to have 2 large meals. Jack made sure the boys had a great time and the adults too! The boys have asked when can we go back to Jack's --so I know we will rent again. I feel like we have made a friend for life.

The Condo was absolutely fabulous I am sure we made the right choice in renting this place

We Loved spending every minute at this condo and we will have many memories of the time we spent here with family members.one couldn't ask for anything more,this place had it all and the top deck patio was where we spent a lot of time.whether it was fishing or spending quality time with family we will never forget the memories we made at this condo.everthing we read on this condo was absolutely true,from the inside to the outside of this place it was all perfect.we met the owner and he was so wonderful and kind,we felt as if we had known him all our lives.cant wait to comeback to rent this place.

So conveniently located on the middle of canals section of the small island. The island only has two traffic lights, and quaint small town fishing village mixed with tropical modern living. Many people come for the beaches; but, stay for the best living in Texas.

If you have a pet please let me know before we book.
Small pets under 15 LBS = $100 pet fee
Most Large pets over 15 LBS = $150 pet fee
Labrador - Collie - St. Bernard, and most traditional heavy shedding dogs - may be up to $200 pet fee.

Contact owner and discuss. Depending on pet, age, kennel, conditions, season, can vary the pet fee. Just please discuss. This cost is needed to apply the appropriate cleaning methods and tasks needed to prepare unit for future visitors, or myself when I stay there - which is about half the year. So, just discuss with owner and come to a reasonable agreement. BUT, please be reasonable and honest in your assessment of your pet. We would rather not accept any pets, but, as a pet owner myself, we would not rent from anyone unless our pet could be included. So, you will be dealing with an understanding open minded owner.

Monthly rentals (Monthly or long term only) do not include the charges for electricity or water utilities for the month. This is negotiable and will run about $200-$350, depending on your use, please ask owner. Only those two utilities are considered. As a long term renter, you will have the choice of a monthly amount - depending on the season, or simply agree to pay exact pass through amounts.

High Speed internet, and Direct TV are included and paid for by owner. This is the full package Direct TV, with expanded channels, including sports, movies, and the better level of channels. NO Pay Per View events are included.

"Short weeks" of four (4) days are available. However, if you choose a weekend day in a short week, there is $30 per day increase on the weekend days. That increase in included in the total shown by the quote tool.

We want you to have a nice and enjoyable vacation. But, being out on the deck at night, and fishing and maybe some adult beverages can lead to excitement, and that can lead to loud communications and yelling. Please respect the neighbors please.

Manager's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
