Quiet spot at the lake

  • 4 of 5

Property was immaculately clean upon arrival. Great little spot only a couple hundred yards from the water. Provide all the amenities you could need including a grill and chairs for enjoying the view from the patio. Laundry was nice to have on hand and heaps of towels. Fully stocked kitchen in regards to plates/utensils/pots... Coffee maker. Microwave. TV with cable.

Only Cons: Couch is not the most comfortable but what was an issue for us was the lack of internet and mediocre cell service. He tried to add a cell booster and even added a charge for it but it was intermittent at best. Non functional at worst. May not be a issue if you're just there to enjoy the lake. Cable can likely keep you entertained.

Overall, great little place. Worth the price.

Clean well equipped with plenty of room

  • 5 of 5

Went to the lake for a week of fishing and kicking back with my family. The cabin was everything we needed with plenty of room for everyone. Parking for our rigs and electrical outlets for charging our boat batteries. One of the best places we have stayed at in the 20+ years we have been fishing the lake. Looking forward to our next trip and staying at the cabin.

Pleasantly Surprised!

  • 5 of 5

First of all the communication with the owner was easy. Randy and Ann were very responsive and friendly-great customer service. The home was very accommodating; plenty of pots and pans for cooking, silverware, utensils, small appliances, clothes washer & dryer, paper products, 2 beach chairs, grill(we didn't have the opportunity to use), comfortable beds with linens, bathroom with plenty of towels, everything you need (except your own toiletries-expected). The living room chairs were comfortable, cable/satellite tv was great, kitchen was well supplied (even coffee, but we brought our own), bottled water upon our arrival(which we restocked before leaving), the whole house was clean. The best part was the river/lake. It is beautiful!!!! It's a pleasant, short (2 minute) walk down the path through the woods, to the shoreline. The weather was nice enough that we walked it every day that we were there. The view is awesome. Our stay was so relaxing. We needed a place to stay while visiting my daughter and granddaughter. It turned out to be a short 2 miles to where they live. And my granddaughter was able to spend the night with us. We plan on staying at this vacation home again. Another plus is that our dog had a blast running by the water and through the woods. I'm glad we were able to bring her. The description and pictures of the home in the listing are accurate. Being in a wooded area, I expected some kind of bugs - absolutely none. The only restaurant that we got to try out was a little burger place in Paris (about a 20 minute drive). We did most of our meals cooking at the house. We also went to the movies there one day. My daughter's boyfriend wound up in the hospital due to an illness for a few days while we were there. Because we had a good place to stay during this time, it made it a little less stressful for all of us and we were close by to help my daughter. I've already recommended this property to friends and family. Randy & Ann, thank you so much for welcoming us into your vacation home. We'll be back.

Excellent Accomodations

  • 5 of 5

Contacted owners of the property through Home Away's website and was impressed at the response time from them. They answered all of my questions concerning the property and also what was inclusive in order for us to know what we needed to bring. I found the cabin to be roomy and comfortable as well as overstocked with appliances and cooking utensils. There was also an abundance of towels and linens as well as a washer and dryer that saved the day when we were caught in a sudden downpour. Even though the cabin is basic, the sleeping quarters were comfortable and there was plenty of room for our party of 6. The owners had just upgraded the central heating and cooling system and it cooled the unit easily. The cabin is centrally located and we were only a short drive from Paris, TN where there was a generous amount of eateries to choose from as well as several big box stores.

I not only would recommend this property for others to stay at but I have already booked it again and due to the reasonable rental rates and friendliness of the owners and will continue to use this property as I visit Kentucky Lake.
