Jasmine Place is known for proximity and history throughout Key West. This enchanting home ideally located next door to the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum and across the street is the Key West Lighthouse.
You are marveled with the grandeur and history that is so well maintained when looking at this home from the street. The two-story home, behind a white picket fence has brick steps leading to a large front porch and grand balcony with a hammock that perfectly overlooks and views the Lighthouse.
Upon entrance, the Jasmine Place celebrates original carpenter hard wood flooring beneath the open concept features of a family friendly, entertaining home. The spacious living and dining areas lead directly outside through kitchen’s French Doors. The inviting light makes this home a perfect place to relax or entertain.
The first floor serves as living space, kitchen space, and has one full bathroom that access the outside patio. The bathroom is also equipped with a washer dryer unit. The clean, white kitchen has the perfect view of this spacious backyard. This allows the tropical breeze in while watching friends and family outside grilling, swimming or lounging.
Up the original wooden stairs, the second floor of the home has two bedrooms and one full bath. The first bedroom has a queen size bed, and large windows. The second bedroom has two twin size beds that can be made into a king and also has large windows to allow that natural tropical light in. The balcony on the second story has a perfect view of the Key West Lighthouse and overlooks Whitehead Street. There are chairs and a hammock for relaxing. The entry to the balcony is through a common area hallway.
The backyard is landscaped with a tropical, local plants. The deck and private pool allow plenty of space for lounging, grilling, and outdoor dining. Plenty of outdoor seating can accommodate all your friends and family!
The proximity to Duval Street, shopping, restaurants and the many activities Key West has to offer are walking distance. Although there is no need for a car, there is a private, gated, narrow off street driveway for your use only.

We knew Key West, and chose "Jasmine" mainly for the location - next door to Hemingway's House, across the street from the LIghthouse, and one block off Duval Street. Had a great vacation. The house is well appointed, a traditional "Conch Cottage" with modern updates tastefully done, clean and well maintained. Love the back patio and pool area - a great escape from busy Duval Street. Convenient to everything Key West has to offer / is known for. The driveway parking is tight. We drove a minivan, and it just fit. The management company was helpful, and easy to work with, great customer service. Would definitely do it all over again, and recommend it to others! If you go, be sure to get the Conch Salad from Johnson's Grocery close to the house, and eat at "Only Wood" - wonderful pizza and GREAT pasta dishes. (Both 2-3 blocks from the house.)
It’s so hard to make a decision on where to stay when booking a vacation, so many options and so many reviews to read. We were originally going to stay in a nice popular expensive hotel for 5 nights but decided to rent 919 Whitehead Street instead. Having visited Key West many times we had never had a pure slice of the real Key West ‘Living it’ - We always walked up and down the streets wondering what the homes were like inside, and what it would be like to live there. Renting this home made us feel like we were definitely living it for a short time. I guess you could put the best hotels anywhere you liked and they would still be the same.
Very charming house right next door to the Hemingway Home / Museum, and perfectly placed to walk to everything. We parked a Jeep on the driveway and had no problems - If you let the kids out one side first :)
Preferred Properties were brilliant!!! No hassle, no fuss and always there should you have a question. We are coming back to KW again next year and we will be renting from them again - 100% recommend this home or at least Preferred Properties (Family of 4 from the UK with 2 kids - 15 and 10 y/o if that helps)
We loved this property! The home is Key West picturesque with two beautiful porches, large spacious rooms and a good-sized pool for the area. The location is unparalleled! We even had a few cats from the Hemingway home show up on our porch :) Would stay here in again in a heartbeat and will definitely recommend to our friends!
The location of this house is ideal. It is one block off Duval Street. There is a driveway for off street parking. The furnishings in the house were great. The kitchen is modern with all up to date appliances. The pool was also a great feature. The only negative are the window AC units. Because of the age of the house, it would be impossible to have central air. The window units tend to be noisy. There are no AC units in the bathrooms so if you close the doors, there is no AC. We had one minor problem with the TV and it was handled within three hours. We would certainly stay here again but if you want the temperature around 72 degrees, it is not going to happen. We had several six toed cats in the pool area from the Hemingway House next door. That was also something we will remember.
We traveled with our moms (77 and 81) to Key West to visit our daughter. What a wonderful decision! We have stayed at B&B's before, but thought the house might be nice since our moms were both going. We were a little concerned about the steps up to the 2nd floor, but both moms handled them just fine. The house is in a great location - lots of people to watch! It's furnished nicely and the private pool was wonderful! There was plenty of room and we weren't lacking for anything. We actually had one of the Hemingway cats come and hang out with us. We were afraid they would be missing her so we walked next door to let them know she was there. One of the caretakers walked up to her on the back deck and said, "Billie Holiday - what are you doing here?" She has 6 toes on all 4 feet - that's pretty unusual. We didn't see her the rest of that day, but she was back the next! I guess it's not normal for the cats to leave the grounds. We were glad she did! There is a parking spot that is narrow. We had a van so the sliding doors worked well, but I would get out before my husband pulled in the gate. It's just nice to have your own place to park!

Overall the property was very nice. The location was perfect right next door to Hemingway Home. Always a lot of activity there. We even saw three weddings while we were there. When we arrived we had a problem with the cable but Jose came right over and helped us set it up. The pool was great, the layout was good, the wifi was good, all of the amenities were good too.
I would recommend this property to others to stay and I would stay there again. The only issue is that it could use some TLC and the porches both out front and upstairs in the front were filthy. We cleaned the front porch but had no means to clean the top porch. Also the carpet in the living room should be cleaned. But overall it was a great place to stay and we had a wonderful vacation and made a lot of great memories.
We were so close we got to go to sunset several times. Our Niece got engaged at sunset while we were there so it make everything very special. We ate multiple times at the Blue Macaw Garbos and Mangoes. And the Key Lime Cake at Firefly was amazing. We ate out every night so we got to enjoy several new restaurants and some of our old favorites. We could walk everywhere.
