My husband and I live in this home approximately one third of our time. Our primary home is in Michigan. I moved there to his home from Kansas when we married four years ago. Since I have family in the area we purchased this Pomona Lake home for convenience of family gatherings and to spend quality time in Kansas. We both love the outdoors and are avid hikers, bicyclists, kayakers, and bird and wildlife enthusiasts.
Jimmy Sue Ponchillia purchased this house in 2012
The home is close to the lake but is in a small lake side community offering relaxed, country living. The floor plan offers a cozy feel, yet is roomy with open floor plan. Master bedroom downstairs and two guest rooms upstairs makes it convenient for house guests.
Nearby family run restaurants (Lamont Hills and Green Acres) offer inexpensive, home cooked meals when not wanting to cook. Boasted chicken and homemade pies are specialties. A variety of hand dipped ice cream is a treat at Lamont Hills.
Relaxed, country atmosphere close to lake, offering many recreational opportunities.
We stayed here while visiting family in the area. It's a great location for hosting a family dinner (or several in our situation). There's enough space for everyone to spread out and enjoy some quiet time. The house is well stocked with all kitchen gear to make everything we needed to make. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.
The owners are great to work with and are super responsive to questions or concerns.
We couldn't be more pleased with how our stay was. As long as this property is available, we will continue to stay here when visiting our family in this beautiful part of Kansas!
This was our second time to the lake house as the first time was so good. We went with our two small kids and the ample room both inside and out gives them a chance to burn energy. Previously we were there in summer, but seeing the colorful fall leaves ensures me that every season must be beautiful on the property. :) It's such a great space for us that I'm sure that we will be back soon!!!
We recently stayed at the lake house in August to visit family that lives in the area. This was my first time using vrbo and I couldn't be happier. The owners were extremely easy to work with and the house was perfect. We have two small children and the open floor plan of the house plus the massive backyard provided ample room to play. It also was nice that while family was visiting that I was able to cook dinner in the kitchen and still talk to them in the dining room. The area is extremely peaceful which makes the screened in porch an amazing place to unwind. We ate at Green Acres, a local restaurant. The owner stopped by our table to make sure that everything was great - I would recommend it! We will definitely choose to stay here again the next time we are in the area.
My family and I stayed here for the 4th of July weekend to visit friends. The home was as described and gave us the opportunity to participate in the surrounding area's activities. We will certainly use this location again.
I rented this property as a home base for a bike race that I was participating in. We actually had members from all over the country come here to participate or support us. The house is wonderful! It's in a very quiet area and the home has all the amenities you could want. The owners are wonderful people too! They welcomed us as if we were family and left goodies! If I ever find myself looking to go anywhere within an hour and a half of this property, I will absolutely stay here again!
Fourth of July fireworks display over Lamont Hills Golf course is a beautiful show. The amount and quality of the fireworks is surprisingly good considering the ease with getting to seating in area and no large crowd to maneuver through as is the usual case for such events. Watching from the lake on your pontoon would be and awesome way to spend the holiday!

This is our home 1/3 of the year. We are here four or five times a year for several weeks at a time. The home is furnished and decorated with items that are of personal and sentimental valve. We hope you enjoy our home as much as we do and will treat it with care and respect. Thank you.
Also be informed that there is gravel road one mile off the paved road leading to our home. It can be rough and dusty in summer months but well packed and not a problem in rainy or winter weather.
