All around great. The cabin had warm and welcoming vibes, nice location, and all the things you'd want/expect in a weekend getaway. Nice and welcoming email with easy instructions from the owner. Great experience!
The Olivebridge cabin was beautiful, neat and clean. While the weather did not cooperate with us (it rained the whole weekend), the cabin's screened in porch was very roomy and a nice way to be outside! The owner's provided everything that was needed and it truly was a home away from home feel! It looks exactly as pictured. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet place to get away! The owners were a pleasure to work with!
My friends and I stayed in this charming little cabin for memorial day weekend as a way to unwind and hang out. All of the amenities you could want are there including toiletries in case you forget anything, gas for the grill, and some wood for the fire pit out back.
Service is very shaky out there so if you need to be accessible via text this may not be the ideal destination, but if you're good letting your phone go (there is wifi though so email is still fair game!) then it's a lovely spot.
Potentially because it was just warming up, but we did see a few ants inside the building, but nothing a good flipflop couldn't get rid of.
As for things to do, you can of course just sit and hang out in the cabin the whole time, but if you're looking for a brief adventure Minnewaska State Park is within a half hour drive and is a great retreat into the woods for a casual hike to a gorgeous lake or waterfall (or both!).
All in all, highly recommend for a nature retreat, not the fanciest place but for the cost and location, it's great.
This was my first time staying at a log cabin. I was looking for a place that was a little isolated and this place showed up on the cue. It was absolutely comfortable and exceeded my expectations. It had the home touch which you wont get from staying at other commercially driven places. I highly recommend staying here as it was one of the best getaways I've had in a while.
We spent the MLK weekend in this beautiful cabin that has been updated without losing it coziness. Susan and Ron have thought of every detail so that their guests will feel comfortable. The location is perfect. It is quiet and secluded, but not isolated, and not far from many of the attractions of the Mid-Hudson region. We would return again and we highly recommend it.
We spent New Years Eve in the Olivebridge Cabin. It was extremely cozy and comfortable. Exactly what we were looking for and very charming. We cooked our meals in the kitchen and played board games that were left in a basket. We enjoyed a fire in the living room and even sat on the porch with some blankets to keep us warm while enjoying the fresh air!
On New Years Day we took a ride over to Woodstock where we went hiking on Overlook Mountain and walked through the town. This was only a short ride of about 20 minutes away. We were also able to stop at a local supermarket to stock up on groceries for our 2nd dinner.
Our last morning while eating breakfast we watched deer on the lawn.
The only issue was that we did not bring up firewood and had run out on NYE to buy some after a quick call to the very helpful property manager. Next time I will know to pick it up on the way to the cabin.
Otherwise we had a really great time and hope to rent the cabin again soon!
