Originally known as Indian Rocks South Shore, this quiet beach town is one of the oldest and smallest beach communities with the longest name. It was named Indian Rocks Beach, South Shore because the tiny community wanted a separate identity from the City of Indian Rocks Beach. The Town averages only a block in width between the Gulf of Mexico and by an area known as The Narrows.
It was originally an Indian campsite and got its name from the large red rocks found along its shoreline. Its first "settlers" were a pair of Robinson Crusoe-Type brothers named Cochran. In 1883 four Cedar Key speculators sailing to St. Petersburg, stopped to explore the Island. They were fascinated by the Island's possibilities for future development and bought it from the Cochran Brothers for a nominal sum. It is said the brothers bartered their Island "for little more than a string of beads and $25.00, figuratively speaking, like the Indians of Manhattan". The region soon became a popular residential and vacation area for many prominent Tampans such as the McKay family. (Tampa Tribune)
Until a wooden turn bridge was built in 1916, a ferryboat transported pedestrians to the Island, and a barge carried horses, buggies and a few automobiles to the summer resort. In 1905 the Railroad ran a spur line from the mainland to the beach and a hotel was built, adding to the Island's popularity. The railroad spur was abandoned later, but the community continued to grow especially during the Post-World War II building boom. Eventually in 1973 the name was officially changed to the more manageable Indian Shores. Presently the town's residential quality and its assortment of shops and restaurants help visitors feel right at home and is popular from snowbirds to seabirds. Favorite local spots are the eccentric Indian Shores Coffee Company and the popular Salt Rock Grill.

Hello, we are Jeff and Gina Paglialonga, owners of TeemingVR (Teeming Vacation Rentals). Our love for travel spans decades as does our romance (high school sweethearts, fellow UF graduates, married 30+ years with four children, traveled to 6 out of the 7 continents). Jeff also has owned an Allstate Insurance Agency since 1990, achieving the highest company award of Top in Country. We personally own 3 vacation rentals ourselves and manage over 225 properties, located in St Pete/Clearwater, St Augustine/Flagler and Panama City Beach. Pooling very different skill sets but very common passions, we make perfect partners. We are truly blessed, loving what we do and loving doing it together. We have built our home on faith, family, and fun; and strive to build this company on the same. We not only love to travel ourselves, but also love helping fellow travelers plan their ideal vacation. The owners did a great job of decorating and furnishing their beach condo. The interior is first-rate (TVs, dishes, linens, etc) and the location on the beach and near restaurants can't be beat. If you can get this unit - do so!
We spent 10 days at Bungalow Beach and absolutely loved it! Clean & comfortable and steps from the beach. We loved having a grill onsite. We will definitely stay here again.
Bungalow Beach Place is perfect in every way. Beautiful decor, spotless, and an ocean front view that is magazine worthy. If my dream comes true, I'll visit once a month.
When I picked this property, we looked at the previous reviews and nothing really concerned me. I did read a review that someone had previously stayed in Unit 5 and they stated that the refrigerator didn't work and the owners moved them into a different unit. Well, a few months later the refrigerator doesn't work still. It doesn't cool enough to keep milk from going sour.
When we arrived the refrigerator was turned off and that doesn't help when you've just bought groceries that need to be refrigerated and it's not turned on and takes a while to cool down. So I would suggest that both the refrigerator and AC unit need to be working all the time during a peak season so the guests can make the move in transition without any problems.
The location of the property is fabulous. No way to say it better than that, it's simply hands down a wonderful location.
There are reasonable expectations when you select a vacation property for me, and another important factor is comfort. The bed was waay too soft and lumpy. So much so I never really got a good nights sleep at all and ended up sleeping on the couch.
Also in this comfort area is when you arrive in July, you expect the room to be reasonably cool. The AC unit was turned off and we walked into a room that was 85 degrees. The book left in the room asked you not to turn down the thermostat below 75, so the AC never shut off until the next morning when it finally reached 75. Coming from a family who has HVAC background, 75 couldn't meet a satisfactory temperature when the room faces the sun for the majority of the day.
Something missing from both the bedroom and living room was a ceiling fan. Whenever the AC did actually reach 75, the temperature heated up fairly quickly and atleast if the room had ceiling fans then that could have circulated the air better and help cool the unit. I got to meet the property owners while there and they told me the AC units still had some kinks to be worked out, but with my family background, I understand that AC units are meant to work to cool the unit so there really isn't any kinks to be worked out.
My rating would be higher if those issue didn't exist. I would stay there again, but only if they made those changes.
You have to have comfort in a vacation property, that's what we pay for and expect in return.
We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful condo! It is small but has everything you need for two people. It is decorated warmly with special touches and very nice, comfortable furnishings. It was very clean inside and out. The only thing that would've made it nicer was a pool but it is not necessary. Would definitely stay again. Owners were very nice to work with and will look them up if shopping for a condo again!
Wonderful place to stay. We were there for a week this spring and enjoyed every minute. The weather was very nice and we stayed outside most of the time. Loved walking the beach every morning and at sunset. Decor was lovely, very clean and had every thing you could need. We highly recommend the property.
