Gorgeous historic home base to explore Lancaster, Hershey

  • 5 of 5

We want our rental homes to be as important to our vacation experience as our activities, and this historic home was perfect.

Our family of four (including two kids ages 7 and 12) rented the home for three nights between Christmas and New Year's Eve. We were incredibly impressed with details inside the home, from the antiques and architectural detail that gave it so much character to the new bathroom and kitchen.... Speaking of which, it's a perfect kitchen for a group that wants to hang out in the evenings, cooking and catching up, and I'm thinking of bringing my girlfriends back to do just that.

A few examples of activities within half an hour or less of the house include exploring towns throughout Amish country, fantastic antiquing, shopping, dining and, for kids, Hershey Park and Hershey Chocolate World as well as the Turkey Hill ice cream "experience" museum. You can only do (or only want to do) so much of that in one day; we were always excited to come back to the house and relax.

The owner, Steve, was so attentive to every text that we wondered if he ever put his phone down. He even offered suggestions for nearby restaurants and things to do.

We would recommend this beautiful home for families and for groups of friends who appreciate a unique and historic vacation experience.

Relaxing and well maintained!

  • 5 of 5

A few friends shared an amazing girls weekend together in this beautiful home! The owner did a beautiful job in restoring and maintaining this home. There was plenty of space for us to enjoy this home and all rooms in the house came fully stocked! We thoroughly enjoyed the Lancaster area, travelling about 20 minutes to most activities we enjoyed that weekend. This home is definitely worth a stay!

Upper class

  • 5 of 5

First and foremost Steve, the owner was really nice. House was clean. Amenities more than expected.

The home was beautifully decorated. We constantly marveled over the decor and the antiques. The original Windows, floors, etc gave it an extra special touch.

Landscape well taken care...

Porch is beautiful. A bit too many spiderwebs.

House is spacious. Sleeps 8 tops. Not sure why it's advertised as sleeps 10. Steve did prepare us a children size folding bed.

We would definitely return and recommend to others.

An absolute dream

  • 5 of 5

This was such a lovely and historic home. The owner restored it to such wonderful condition that we couldn't help but wonder what life must have been like back in the mid 1800's. The house was in impeccable condition, and the owner did everything he could to make us feel comfortable. The home was very comfortable for our family of three, and we were even able to invite my brother and his daughter to come up for a visit to Dutch Wonderland!
