Welcome to the Silver Lake Badminton Club.
Our 2-story home, which comfortably accommodates up to four guests, was built in 1938 as a gift for the owner’s wife. Though we've made a few simple modern updates, many of the original 1930’s design details are still there like the original hardwood floors, art deco arches, green tiled 1/2 bathroom, window and door hardware.
Neighborhood legend is that some well-known classic Hollywood actors were frequent guests who played on the concrete regulation badminton court. Apparently, the previous owners were quite fond of entertaining.
This house has become our home and can become the place for you to unwind after a long day out and about in the city. If you are traveling as a family, we believe our home is ideal for older children or babies who have yet to start crawling since there are stairs both inside and outside.
The terraced outdoor space is planted with drought tolerant plants that include a couple of acacias and various succulents. There’s a lemon tree and a small section of grass that’s perfect for lawn games or just lounging.
We do our best to provide the basic essentials to make your stay hassle-free. The kitchen is thoughtfully stocked including basic pantry staples.
A laundry room off the main backyard patio is available for your convenience.

Our home is walking distance to a vast array of wonderful neighborhood restaurants, cafes, markets (Trader Joe's & Gelson's), music venues, exercise studios and a spa. If you prefer to eat in and not cook, there are a variety of places offering delivery services.
We are a short driving distance to Griffith Park and Observatory, the Autry Museum, L.A. Zoo, Greek Theatre, Hollywood sign and Downtown L.A. You could also walk to Sunset Junction if you are up to the 15-20 minute walk; there’s a bustling farmer’s market held in Triangle Plaza on Sunset Blvd. at Edgecliff Dr. every Saturday (8am-1pm) and Tuesday (2-7:30 pm).
We're also in the neighborhood of the Silver Lake Meadow and Recreation Center which is about a 25 minute walk or a short bike ride from our home.
Since we are near most of the major freeways, you can get to destinations like Hollywood (West and North), Studio City, Burbank and Pasadena with ease. Atwater Village is just over the Hyperion Bridge. Echo Park, Eagle Rock, Mount Washington and Downtown L.A. aren't too far either.
We're about 22 miles from LAX and Burbank Airport is approx. 9.5 miles away.

I stayed in this Silver Lakes (LA) house for 5 nights with my husband and two sons. The house was a perfect size for us with two well-sized bedrooms, a great shared living area and kitchen and a wonderful outdoor space - complete with balcony, grassy area and badminton - which my boys loved. The house was super clean and really nicely decorated and we felt very comfortable there. The owners met us upon our arrival and kindly showed us around the house and gave us tips on anything we needed. A big bonus was a guaranteed parking spot right in front of the house. It was also walking distance to Trader Joe's, the park and other markets and stores. We very much enjoyed our stay in this house and would happily stay there again if we were to return.

MONTHLY GUESTS (30 days or more) are required to pay a deposit and sign a short term rental agreement. The refundable damage deposit is also used to cover any utility overage that exceeds $300 per month.
