Why Owner chose Jordaan
The location is second to none. Walking distance everywhere in the city. All amenities nearby from supermarkets, cash machines, the boutique stores, cafes and restaurants of the 9-streets area in the Jordaan. This is really special.
What makes this Boat unique
Sitting on the front deck watching the boats sail by is really special and relaxing. Its picturesque and peaceful.

Clean Boat in a great location
We loved the property. It was a very clean boat in a spectacular location. We would have no problems recommending the property to our friends. The sole caveat is that it is a virtual ladder to enter the boat. People who have a hard time with suitcases or stairs should choose another place to stay.
Upon check in there was a strong odor of mold! We started to unpack not realizing how bad it was until my chest started to tighten up. The mold is everywhere and extreme in the master bedroom, you could actually see that it was furry not just black! Also, coming down the ladder to get in to the boat is dangerous no handrails and straight down. The ceiling is extremely low so my husband who is 6.5 couldn’t even stand up. We were extremely disappointed as we stayed on a canal boat 2 years ago and it was fantastic! I reached Out to the owner through VRBO, email and text she never replied. We use VRBO a ton and have never experienced a situation like this. I say stay clear and don’t rent this one!!
See the reviews before and after this person's stay and you will see that NOBODY has ever commented on mould - because there is none. This lady asked for a very early morning checkin but I was not able to accommodate it. She had not read her messages and blamed me for her mistake and was very angry as she had to wait for checkin. She was very rude at checkin and I said this was not appropriate and showed her the emails where i had said I could not support her early morning request. I showed them around the boat with a great tension in the air. A few hours after checkin I got a message to say they had abandoned the boat, left it unlocked and left the keys inside - this is very unfair to leave someone's home open to burglars. She said they wanted a full refund. I contacted homeaway and they said as there was a unilateral decision on the part of these people, they gave me no chance to respond or rectify any problem or come up with solutions and because of this the standard cancellation applied. This meant no refund as it was under 7 days before cancelling. She later tried to reverse her credit card payment which was taken from my bank account and had to be reversed again. It was not fair to decide to leave and expect I should have to foot the costs for that, I acted 100% in accordance with the rules dictated by homeaway which is why I immediately called them for direction and I did what they advised according to their rules.
This review is bad because this lady was angry she missed her email stating early checkin was not possible and because she did not get a full refund after deciding to leave. I am little disappointed to be honest, I would have near 5 stars on homeaway if she hadnt left this review. Anyhow, success to her and happy summer to anyone reading.
Wonderful Houseboat in Amsterdam
If you have ever thought about staying in a houseboat, this place is for you! The houseboat is very well equipped and in a great location. The beds were comfortable; the living room was cozy provided a warm place to talk over the day with friends; and the kitchen was sufficient for cooking any meals necessary. The owner, Helen, is very helpful and answers any questions promptly. It was delightful to see the canal boats glide by in the evening. We highly recommend this property!
We had a great time and loved the location
Very comfortable, beautiful location.
Our first trip to Amsterdam. We didn’t really know where to stay. Took a chance with staying on a canal houseboat. I don’t think we could have picked a better place. The canals are postcard beautiful. At night they look like a Thomas Kinkade painting! The neighborhood had everything we needed in supermarket, restaurants, cafes, cute shops and 5 minute walk to Anne Frank’s house. Getting around on foot was very easy. City Centre is around 15-20 minute walk. The host is very friendly and helpful. We are already planning our next trip.
Fantastic location right in the middle if town and close to lots of great cafes, bars shops, museums
Lovely large boat serene and calm on the water and fantastic location - very enjoyable stay!
