About Bruce or Annie Russell

Hi, We are active folks that love to travel, bike, hike, etc. The Cabin has been our nest that we built a few years ago as a second home. Our RV has seen us a lot lately. It continues to be enjoyed by us and our family including kids and grand kids. We decided to have others enjoy it as well.

Why Bruce or Annie Russell chose Front Range Colorado

We chose this unique location because of its central location to recreation, including skiing, hiking, fishing and rafting, and the city. We fell in love with its special setting on the River and built the Cabin as a second home. When we are not traveling visiting kids and grand kids or for business or pleasure we hang our hat here. It lends itself to guests that don't get hang out in the mountains. Skiing, hiking biking, rafting, fishing all here. So enjoy.

What makes this cabin unique

The LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION is so amazing. A few minutes one way to Denver, a few minutes the other to ski areas. Hiking, biking, rafting, dining, shopping...its all so close. And easy to get to I-70 in 2 minutes.

And of course.... Nature is all around. Beauty is all around. Mountains are all around. History is all around. The Cabin can be a blend of mountain stream side relaxation and recreation or an urban experience. When you get here you will understand!

Beautiful place with exceptional hosts

  • 5 of 5

The cabin at Fall River was beautiful, well stocked, private and very cozy. Annie and Bruce were fantastic and even checked up on us during our stay. There were plenty of toys and things to do for kids even though we did not bring our kids on this trip. I would absolutely recommend this property for your getaway.

Cozy and perfect for our group!

  • 5 of 5

Bruce and Annie were amazing hosts!! We stayed here in the spring and loved every part about our trip. From the guidebook to fun places to eat and see in the area, to the hot tub, to the cozy fire in the living room, we felt at home and like we were at a 5 star resort at the same time. We even had flowers on the table and a string lit bridge to greet us when we came in that night. The views in and around the cabin were beautiful! You won't be disappointed about this place :)

Great Centralized Location with Serenity, Convenience and close to Adventure!

  • 5 of 5

Bruce and Annie were very attentive to ensure that we got to our destination with no issues and that we had everything we needed when we arrived. The cabin is open and spacious with all the amenities that you need. Fall Creek has a beautiful stair step stream that runs along the side of the property which adds to the relaxing atmosphere surrounding the cabin and helps to drown out some of the noise of the traffic off the main road. We ventured down the main road to see where all that traffic was coming and going. The road leads up to St. Mary's Glacier and was well worth our drive. There are amazing views all the way up and the Fall Colors were breath taking. Don't just stop at St. Mary's, if you go all the way up just a little bit further you will find an AMAZING little Alpine Lake with a Mountain Backdrop at the top. We highly recommend doing the 900 Ft. Mine Tour on the Georgetown Train Loop. We also took a drive up to Mount Evans and it has AMAZING views the whole ride up and we spent a day in the Rocky Mountain National forest which is always an adventure! We got great photos of all of our adventures and a week is just is never enough when visiting Colorado. We really appreciated Bruce and Annie's hospitality and the location of their cabin which allowed easy access to many of the great things Colorado has to offer!

Wonderful cabin, beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is incredible, the pictures don't do the setting justice. Bruce and Annie were amazing, they were accommodating and had so many extra touches in the cabin that made it feel so welcoming. We are already planning a trip back, this is truly a great find.

A little piece of Colorado Heaven!

  • 5 of 5

Our first experience with Colorado was not a good one, we had gotten into Denver on a Friday at 4:30 and had to get down to Colorado Springs during heavy rush hour traffic and a severe thunderstorm. That 60 mile of highway took over 3 stressful hours! Touring around Colorado Springs was okay, but it was just too hectic for our getaway to really enjoy. By the next day it was time to venture over to Idaho Springs and our home for the next few days. By the time we hit Hwy 70 and got into the mountains, I was already feeling better about Colorado. By the time we got past Idaho Springs a few minutes and got to Bruce and Annie's home, we knew this was the Colorado we had been waiting for. We pulled in later in the day while the sun was beginning to set and we were greeted by the sound of the babbling creek, a serenely lit bridge, and the fresh smell of sage and pine. We were welcomed with the lights left on for us, comfortable, clean décor, and a bottle of bubbly in the fridge. There was plenty of room for my husband and I, our two boys, and my parents. Two bathrooms made it wonderful to still have our own space without tripping over each other. The property's hot tub situated by the creek made it a go to destination at the end of each night. There is a sauna nearby that we just didn't have enough time to take advantage of. The boys enjoyed the swing set in the yard while we would grill out. There was not a thing that was not thought of. Towels in the linen closets, dishes and pans, T.V.s in each room for when you just want to sit and relax. The home is in a WONDERFUL location. Away from all the chaos of Denver/Colorado Springs, but close enough to head in. Just a 30 minute drive up 70 and you find yourself in Denver. I would ask why a person would need to go to Denver when Idaho Springs is just a 3 minute drive away...the restaurants and shopping there are fabulous!! Central City is just 15 minutes away, and there is plenty to do there as well! When in Idaho Springs we enjoyed Beau Jo's pizza, but really had a wonderful experience over at Mtn Prime. HIGHLY recommend that place for fair prices on high quality, delicious food. We saved some money by shopping at Safeway (which had everything we needed and then some) and getting to prepare meals at the home. I cannot thank Bruce and Annie enough for their wonderful communication during this process. From Idaho Springs on, our trip was everything we were hoping for! Already planning on coming back!

Notes:
280+ SUNSHINE days... We are in the middle of the great outdoors in a Cabin that is a pretty nice place to hang out relaxing all day and all night in all the seasons. Or in just a few minutes be hiking, skiing, biking, rafting... etc etc. The Cabin is just short of the 8000 ft elevation so in the Summer the evenings are cool. Bring a lite jacket just in case you want to sit by the stream at night. In the Winter, if the sun is out we can bask in the Sun having our mid morning coffee on the front porch. Colorado climate is typically dry and sunny.
