About Bruce or Annie Russell

Hi, We are active folks that love to travel, bike, hike, etc. The Cabin has been our nest that we built a few years ago as a second home. Our RV has seen us a lot lately. It continues to be enjoyed by us and our family including kids and grand kids. We decided to have others enjoy it as well.

Why Bruce or Annie Russell chose Front Range Colorado

We chose this unique location because of its central location to recreation, including skiing, hiking, fishing and rafting, and the city. We fell in love with its special setting on the River and built the Cabin as a second home. When we are not traveling visiting kids and grand kids or for business or pleasure we hang our hat here. It lends itself to guests that don't get hang out in the mountains. Skiing, hiking biking, rafting, fishing all here. So enjoy.

What makes this cabin unique

The LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION is so amazing. A few minutes one way to Denver, a few minutes the other to ski areas. Hiking, biking, rafting, dining, shopping...its all so close. And easy to get to I-70 in 2 minutes.

And of course.... Nature is all around. Beauty is all around. Mountains are all around. History is all around. The Cabin can be a blend of mountain stream side relaxation and recreation or an urban experience. When you get here you will understand!

Notes:
280+ SUNSHINE days... We are in the middle of the great outdoors in a Cabin that is a pretty nice place to hang out relaxing all day and all night in all the seasons. Or in just a few minutes be hiking, skiing, biking, rafting... etc etc. The Cabin is just short of the 8000 ft elevation so in the Summer the evenings are cool. Bring a lite jacket just in case you want to sit by the stream at night. In the Winter, if the sun is out we can bask in the Sun having our mid morning coffee on the front porch. Colorado climate is typically dry and sunny.

Magical!

  • 5 of 5

The property and house are amazing! Sitting by the river with a little fire going in the fire pit with a glass of wine is all you need. We got ten inches of snow one day there and it was so beautiful looking at it through the large windows. Also, sitting in the hot tub at night with the snow all around was like you were in a Christmas wonderland. The location is great. We easily drove to Vail, Colorado Springs, Fairplay, Rocky Mountain National Park, etc., basically every direction. Idaho Springs is such a cute town with great restaurants. The casinos close by in Blackhawk and Central City were a lot of fun and we had very good luck there. I would definitely stay here again. Bruce and Annie are wonderful hosts.

Above and Beyond

  • 5 of 5

Bruce and Amy were wonderful hosts. We arrived to a beautiful clean cabin, plenty of water, and even champagne! There was a fully stocked kitchen and plenty of towels. The hot tub worked wonderfully, which is rare. We really appreciated all the details that made out stay as easy as possible. We will return for sure!

Beautiful cabin, wonderful setting

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at HomeAway cabins in Colorado, Wyoming, Minnesota and Wisconsin. This was my favorite so far. The cabin is beautiful inside and out. Bruce and Annie are so helpful and friendly. My family loved sitting in the hot tub next to the stream. I enjoyed reading and drinking my coffee next to the soothing sound of the stream each morning.

The proximity to the town of Idaho Springs is helpful. We made day trips to St. Mary's glacier and Mount Evans - wonderful hikes, breathtaking scenery.

What a wonderful get away !

  • 5 of 5

We rent a cabin every summer for a small family get away . This was one of our most favorite places so far !

The cabin fit five adults quite comfortably ,plenty of space to spread out ! Comfortable beds and plenty of seating areas. Kitchen is well stocked ,and the house has everything you may need .

The hot tub and sauna next to the stream were the' icing on the cake',it was perfect after a day of sight seeing . The cabin location is so nice we didn't want to leave to go any where else . At night we enjoyed sitting around the fire pit by the stream ( we are never too old for s'mores. )

Close to town for groceries and easy to find. Annie and Bruce were in contact by text for any questions. They are a very enjoyable couple that will make your stay perfect .

Be sure to drive up to Mary's Glacier for a hike while you are here . Go early ! We went at 6am and beat the afternoon crowds .Be aware the parking lots at the glacier cost five dollars to park there .It is absolutely a must see ! We also toured Phoenix Mine in Idaho Springs .We have been there before ,it is a fun tour . The Johnson Family

Bruce and Annie's cabin is definitely luxurious! The view from the floor to ceiling windows is amazing and very private. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub by the rushing river with a glass of wine! The accommodations were excellent!
