This is a 3.5 bedroom Guest Cottage situated on the historic Montanverde Farm. It sleeps 7 comfortably (two queen beds, and 3 twins). There is a full kitchen, breakfast area, laundry room, and living room. It is in the heart of the Montgomery Agricultural Reserve, but still only 20 miles from Washington DC. It is a 20 min drive to the DC Metro station.
This farm is on the National Historic Register. The farmhouse was built in 1812, and Abraham Lincoln stayed there in 1848 while attending a political rally Zachary Taylor. The Guest Cottage was built in the 1920s, and was fully renovated in 2014.
It is a beautiful, quite and idilic setting. The property is an island in the middle of the Seneca State Park, with an abundance of wildlife and foliage.
State park hiking trails are at the bottom of the driveway. The road is a common path for road bikers. Seneca Creek (also at the bottom of the driveway) is a great fishing and swimming hole.
The property is close to working farms with markets, and wineries. Also close by is whitewater kayaking on the Potomac river and paddle boarding. There are companies that give lessons close by.
We have WIFI and there is a laptop connected to a flat screen TV, for streaming from the internet.
