Spending your holidays in Olive tree farm is a real experience for you and your family. The quiet neighbourhood surrounded by the beautiful olive groves of Episkopi and the proximity to the biggest sandy beach of Crete makes our place ideal both for travelers who want to spend a quiet vacation in a picturesque lansdcape and for explorers who want to reach most of the island's beauties by car or -why not?- by public transport.
The travelers who just want to spend some quiet time will be fully content by the variety of the experiences the area has to offer and those seeking for adventure will find the easy access to the central road of Crete extremely convenient.
The area around the house is characterised as the "Tuscany of Crete". Beautiful olive groves and fields where the locals grow organic vegetables, untouched nature, beautiful farmhouses and villas just by the big sandy beach of Episkopi compose a magical scenery that offers relaxation even to the most demanding guests.
Just a couple of minutes walk from the beach there is a olive-tree field and our house is built in there. Actually it is a small farm. There are the olive trees, sheep and goats, chicken, cats, tortoises. There is also a vegetable garden planted and you can use the vegetables for your meals, or ask us to prepare your meals for you.
The house is newbuilt having all the facilities needed, such as solar panels, air-condition, fully equiped kitchen and washing mashine ,bed linen and towels. It has an very big balcony lookin at the sea and the sunset where you can enjoy the brand new jacuzzi tub and prepare delicious meals at the barbeque. The balcony features a big dining table sunbeds and a swing. A beautiful garden with a big playground surrounds the villa. The place is very quiet, ideal for families and people who want to avoid the noisy city.
Episkopi is a nice picturesque village around 15km away from the city of Rethymnon. It is built over the biggest beach in Crete; the beach of Petres-Episkopi. The beach is sandy and around 15km long.
You should definitely visit ancient town of Lappa. The town was active since the Geometric period, but it flourished mostly during the Hellenistic and Roman periods, as it is evidenced by its coins.Excavations at the area are still going on and interesting finds as two statues of marble are displayed in the Archaeological Museum of Rethymnon. There are also some nice waterfalls there. Near the house there is the village of Kournas where there is the only natural lake in Crete. The place is breathtaking.
Rethymno is the closest big city, but the house is situated between Rethymno and Chania an other big city around 50 km away (a 40minutes drive).400m away from the house there is a bus stop which connects you with Rethymno and Chania.Of course,if you want to explore the whole island, you should have your own car or rent one.
What makes the place unique is that you spend your holiday next to the beach and near a family that knows how to make your stay as plesant as can be.
