Minimum Stay 2 - 3 nights

Overview

About the property

3 bedrooms, 3 baths on two acres with lot of waterfront and private dock.

This beautiful riverfront house is situated on the banks of the Santa Fe River with a private dock. The property is located in a wooded waterfront community with its own boat ramp on the Santa Fe and dock to the Ichetucknee river. This area of the Santa Fe is perfect for swimming, tubing, canoeing, kayaking, snorkeling, fishing, and boating. Yes bring your boat and tie-up at our private dock. There are also 4 kayaks and one canoe on the property for your use. Upstairs includes two bedrooms, one queen and one full, two baths one with claw foot tub. Great room and fully stocked (not food)kitchen and large outdoor deck with grill. Downstairs: Great room with day bed and futon, washer dryer and full bath and screened in porch. Satellite , WI-FI and lots of DVDs and games in the house.

Please note that we are on a river that sometimes rises. At time the water will be high enough that in covers the dock and is well up into the back yard. We actually love it like this as the water is clear, clean and beautiful. You can still bring a boat up into the yard and have full river access for the canoes and kayaks. We recently fenced in about an acre of the property which makes it great for anyone bringing there dog/dogs.

Beautiful property, great location

  • 5 of 5

We LOVED this charming house on the river, exactly as described, very well supplied with most anything you could need (except food) and cozy. Enjoyed hearing the orchestra of crickets at night on the deck, being greeted by deers, and watching turtles on the river you can't help but shut down your mind and relax! This was a much needed vacation. So quiet, peaceful, huge yard and only a 15 min drive to the ichetucknee springs state park where we did the 3 1/2 hour tube float down the ichetucknee river. Kris was very friendly and answered any questions I had right away. There is even a notebook in the house filled with useful information, restaurants recommendations, nearest grocery store, and suggestions of things to do, etc. Thank you so much for having us!!!

Super fantastic home base for kayaking and snorkeling!

  • 5 of 5

We've only been home a couple of weeks, and we're ready to go back! The cottage was exactly as described, and perfect for us. My family came down from Michigan, and my brother's from Seattle, and everyone had enough room - the teens even had their own space "down under" with a tv and bathroom. We cooked up fabulous meals in the kitchen that had EVERYTHING, played cards at the game table in the evenings, and watched movies chosen from an enormous collection on the tv. After a long, dreary winter up north, it was a treat to read out on the deck and just sit on the dock watching the sunsets.

The highlight however was the river, and kayaks on the property were a HUGE bonus. We LIVED in those boats for three days! Right from our own dock, a nice paddle down the Santa Fe and up the Ichetucknee was absolutely dreamy, especially in the early morning mist. We rented kayaks from Rum 138 and Paddling Adventures to do bigger river trips and snorkeling in the springs and got to experience Ginnie, Blue, Ichetucknee, and Rum, and the cottage was convenient to everywhere we wanted to be. Kris, the property owner, was super helpful, and made my first VRBO experience stellar. We highly recommend this cottage for kayakers, snorkelers and spring-hoppers, or for just relaxing in the warm breezes under a giant live oak, listening to the owls. The kids are already asking to go back!

  • 4 of 5

We spent Spring Break there, with our family! Had a fantastic time. Everything was just perfect. We spent alot of time on the river, had a fire each night. Couldn't have had a better time! The owners had everything there that you could possibly need, and were great to work with!
