The property has been in my family for more than a half century. The Prior family owners, are among the most prominent Philanthropic Families to the region.
The property is in the process of being renovated, but the outside was very rundown. Rob was kind enough to put us up in a hotel the first night because he wasn't able to get his housekeeper there to let us in. But on the second day when we arrived, the property didn't even have toilet paper on site. The living space didn't appear especially clean, and we opted to forego our payment and stay in a local hotel instead.
Rob was accommodating with our late check in. The bed slept very well and the bathroom has a big shower. Great location in historic Beaufort, just a few blocks to restaurants (try The Q and Low Country Produce Market) and waterfront. We arrived during the Water Festival and got to enjoy and meet many locals. It was close enough to enjoy a day trip to Charleston and Parris Island. The only thing I would recommend is maybe a map of Beaufort and a few restaurant recommendations left in the craftsman.
the accommodations were comfortable. Rob was readily available and provided anything extra we needed towels oscillating. Fan ( white noise for sleeping) and was great with guidance on attractions and directions and restaurants. Beaufort is very charming and close for beach biking outdoor activities and art. I will definitely stay in the "craftsman' again!!
