About Curtis Dupree

My wife and I visited friends on Chilhowee mountain 20 years ago and in 1998, we purchased our Little Get Away. Bitsy and I have raised 4 children and we vacationed at our cabin multiple times a year. We love our Tennessee Cabin and our kids have many fond memories of hiking, cycling, fishing, swimming, tubing, roasting marshmallows around the campfire while playing guitars and singing, or just sitting on the porch sipping a hot cup of coffee or hot chocolate and enjoying the spectacular view. Our kids are now grown and raising families of there own, but they still love to spend time at the cabin. Bitsy and I would now like to offer others the ability to spend time with there families or spouses building wonderful memories as we have. The cabin sits on 5 attached acres. We own approximately 20 acres around our cabin. You can walk or drive 1 mile to Look Rock Tower and enjoy the view of the Great Smokey Mountains (550,000 acres) or look to the west and see the cities of Maryville and Knoxville. We love our mountain!

Why Curtis Dupree chose Tallassee

This cabin is secluded, right off the Foothills Parkway, but close enough that with a minimal drive you can visit Cades Cove a pioneer settlement from the 1800's, or shop at the quaint shops in Townsend, or spend a day at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, or spend a day seeing the sites in Gatlinburg. White Water Rafting is also close by in the pigeon river or tubing in the little Tennessee River is right in Townsend. The cabin is also only 8 miles to the Dragon down the Foothills Parkway

Guestbook comments from the owner

The cabin was beautiful, comfortable and stocked with everything we needed. I really enjoyed our stay there. We plan on coming back in the near future.

Great stay for family of 6

  • 5 of 5

Myself, husband, parents and 2 pre-teen kids (plus our golden retriever) stayed at this cabin and had a wonderful stay. The location is secluded with an incredible view. Great place to stay for visiting Cades Cove, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville and Gatlinburg, all within an hour or so drive. Bitsy and Curtis were very helpful and attentive throughout the booking process and during our stay. Highly recommend.

Lovely cabin with amazing mountain views!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we walked in the door it felt like home. The house had everything you need, and a well stocked kitchen. The beds were very comfortable and the house was cozy. The house itself is very private and has a great yard to explore. We loved it and will definitely return!!

A wonderful place to stay!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful weekend. The decorating was pleasant and the furniture was comfortable. It was well stocked with towels, bedding, blankets, etc., we saved a lot of money not having to eat out every meal, and we were very comfortable. It was a treat to hike and play and explore and ride in a helicopter during the day, knowing we had a relaxing, comfortable place to come back to in the evening. Thank you so much for trusting us with your home!

A Treat for a Family Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We stayed four nights here with two of our grown kids and their spouses. What a wonderful place to relax after long and beautiful days spent hiking in the Smokies! The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was supplied and organized with anything we needed, and the porch was just perfect for sitting and rocking with a cup of coffee while enjoying the view. The 15 minute walk to Look Rock Tower was fun at dawn and dusk--the views are awesome! It took about an hour+ to get to the main Park entries but the drive was beautiful so it was not bad at all. We were not familiar with the Smokies before our trip but are so glad we found the "Sleepy Side;" the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area was much more congested and "tourist-y." Thank you, Curtis and Bitsy, for opening your cabin to our family; we had a great time!
