I grew up in Vancouver and my husband Lars grew up in Norway. We have recently moved to Hong Kong after spending the past 10 years in Sydney, Australia where our three children were born.
We are very excited about our new Whistler home and plan to use the property ourselves as much as possible. We also plan to maintain the home to the high standards of the previous owners and rent the home when we are not using it.
Jane Abercrombie purchased this chalet in 2015
We are a group of 5 couples that takes a ski trip every year and we look for a large beautiful large home with 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms with hot tub and great kitchen. This house was perfect for us and one of the best we have ever stayed at. In a quiet upscale community with much privacy facing on the golf course. Excellent wi-fi. One of the first places we have been that was perfectly maintained and our picky group had no complaints about anything. 1. Kitchen was extremely well equipped with cookware and appliances and was very large to allow multiple cooks in the kitchen at once. We cooked 5 meals in during our week stay. Dining table was large and worked perfectly for our group dinners. 2. Hottub was new and wonderful. It was built-in to upper deck which made it convenient and wonderful for soaking after long day of skiing. Jets were very strong. View over the golf course and Whistler mountain was great. 3. Lori was very responsive to all our calls--a pleasure to deal with. She gave us great advice on restaurants and things to do. The concierge service was nice and they had our lift tickets on the kitchen counter when he arrived. 4. House was clean and immaculate. Master bedroom upstairs was huge. Heated floors in bathroom were an added bonus. Four other bedrooms are on bottom level. 5. Huge garage that fit two cars. Great ski storage and boot room off the garage. 6. Wonderful fireplace with an abundant supply of great wood. Great sitting area around fireplace and looking out on golf course and the mountains. 7. About a ten minute drive to town and the ski slopes and restaurants--easy to do everyday. 8. Loved Araxi restaurant in Whistler (recommended by Lori We went there for a wonderful dinner one night and then went back two afternoons after skiing for the $15 for 12 oysters on the half shell. 9. Don't miss the Olympic cross country and ski jump mountain about 30 minutes away. We did a 90 minute showshoe hike was wonderful. We saw US and Canadian ski jumpers preparing for the Olympics. 10. Whistler and Blackcomb ski mountains were wonderful. Not a great snow year but still a great time. New cross mountain gondola makes navigating the mountains much better.

we absolutely loved it there! the view of the mountains and the location of the home is a postcard picture...the home itself was very clean and beautiful...we celebrated my husbands 50th birthday along with 3 other couples and it was a vacation we will always cherish! thank you for opening up your home to us!
Thanks for the use of your home. You have a very beautiful and comfortable home.
We had a wonderful time; the accommodations made the experience that much more enjoyable. Every one of my children had nothing but favorable comments on your home.
We will definitely want to stay at your property when we come back to Whistler.
Saddle House exceeded my expectations. The vrbo listing didn't begin to describe all the amenities this house has to offer.
It is extremely comfortable, spacious and well appointed.
The location is great... Just minutes from groceries and Whistler Village.
It s very well appointed, lots of bed and bath linens, dishwasher soap, paper towels, you name it, this house is wanting for nothing.
The ensuite bathrooms sold me to make our family stay more comfortable.
The property was very clean and well maintained.
The Concierge service was always very helpful.
We dined at Quattro for my birthday dinner, private room, delicious food, accommodating staff.
We also took in the Peak to Peak gondola ride, which was a highlight for everyone.
I would definitely recommend Whistler, vrbo, and Saddle House to my family and friends.
The house was absolutely stunning and was fully stocked for everything we needed. I would recommend this property to anyone looking to have a multi family or friend rental unit in whistler.
The Saddle House, set on the first fairway of Nicklas North Golf course and with a spectacular view of Whistler Mointain, provided a perfect holiday setting for six of us in September 2015. Spacious, beautifully decorated, and well appointed in every room, the house is a five star destination.
Over five days we hiked, rode bikes, golfed, cooked delicious meals as well as tried the many and varied local restaurants - everything very accessible from the Saddle House. It was perfectly located for these activities as well as the Peak to Peak, Whistler markets, shops, the bike park - something for everyone in our group. Favourite activity was hopping in one of the many dedicated bike paths which lead off in every direction.
The house is stunning; its location is out of the town centre but close enough for a brisk walk. We will be back.
We found the house to be very comfortable and well appointed. We enjoyed the gourmet kitchen, and had no need to eat out. The five bedrooms are private, pleasant, and unique. The great room in the chalet has wonderful timber framing, all properly fitted, notched, and supported with iron brackets. It is cathedral like. The windows from the master bedroom showing the upper levels of the timber framing are a nice touch. And the views of Whistler and Backcomb are spectacular!
