Situated in Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, Columbia Mountain Lodge is a bright and stylish 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom mountain home neatly laid out over three floors that comfortably sleeps up to 10 guests. Columbia Mountain Lodge is particularly suited for families and groups. Half-house (up to 4 guests) rentals are available at Owner's discretion.

The lodge is complete with the features you would expect in a luxury chalet including open plan living, fully equipped kitchen, satellite TV, mp3/ipod station, high speed internet, internal and external wood burning fireplaces, BBQ, hot tub, ski room with boot warmers and heated double garage. Four out of the five bedrooms can be configured as kings or twin XL beds which makes this attractive home very flexible and suitable for families and groups.

The lodge is only a short walk to the slopes and main gondola with ski in to the lodge in good snow conditions.

Enter this charming chalet at the basement level where there is a large coat and shoe closet. You will also find the first of two luxury en-suite master bedrooms with king/twin XL beds and DVD player, as well as a further bedroom with twin XLbeds, separate shower room and laundry room.

A wide staircase runs up the centre of the property from the entrance hall and brings you to the open plan main floor level with wood flooring. From here the dining area is straight ahead, the kitchen is to your left and the sunken living room is to the right. The stairs to the upper level carry on with large picture windows providing plenty of natural light up the stairwell.

The spacious fully equipped kitchen, with custom cabinets and granite work surfaces has all the amenities you would expect in a luxury home including range, oven, microwave oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer, ice-maker, coffee maker and generous cooking utensils and table ware. There is a large granite surfaced central island which doubles as a breakfast bar and a separate comfy reading chair. There are French doors from the kitchen accessing on to the rear patio where seating is provided in the summer season.

The dining space, with ample seating, connects the kitchen to the lounge area and offers stunning panoramic views over the Columbia Valley.

The luxurious sunken living room features a wood burning fireplace, a vast sectional sofa, flat screen TV with satellite and DVD and an Ipod/MP3 dock. Guests can access the outdoor hot tub and fireplace through a side door leading to the rear patio.

There are three luxury bedrooms on the upper level: the second en-suite master bedroom with king/XL twin beds and stunning panoramic views, satellite TV and DVD player plus two further king/twin XL bedrooms and the family bathroom.

Outside, guests can soak in the 8 person hot tub in front of a wood burning fire place which is accessed from the living room or kitchen. There is nothing quite like relaxing in the hot tub watching the stars above: even better if there is light snowfall. There is also a BBQ which guests can use throughout the year.

Inside the heated double garage there is a dedicated area for ski/board storage with ski rack, heated boot warmers, benches and rubber matting. Access to this area is from both inside and outside the lodge.

The heated garage provides parking for 2 cars and there is parking on the drive for at a further 4 cars.

My husband and I are British. I am a lawyer and my husband has his own property refurbishment business. We live in a small village in an area of outstanding natural beauty known as 'the Cotswolds'. We live an outdoor life and have three horses, a dog and two chickens.

Great Mountain House

My family and I had a great stay for my Mom's 60th birthday! The house easily fit our large family. Due to smoke from the nearby fires we didn't use the hot tub but did enjoy the outdoor grill. The house is about 10-15 minutes from town which was great. When the smoke wasn't bad we enjoyed the beautiful views! The house is a 2 minute walk to the ski resort and lifts. The only problem we had was the satellite not working, which we really didn't plan to use often. Thanks for a memorable trip!!

Great property right on the hill!

Our stay included three nights for a group of 10 and the location of the house was very accessible to the ski hill. The house was well appointed, the beds were very comfortable and overall we had a wonderful time. Would recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay on the hill at Kicking Horse. Thanks Helen!

house with great layout, not grand but very practical

We stayed here in March 2017 for 5 nights with 6 adults and had lots of fun. With 5 bedrooms you have 4 bathrooms!!!! which is great.The heating/drying rack for ski boots, gloves etc is awesome.The kitchen is well equipped, even though we did not cook, we used it for breakfast . The house has a great layout and was clean. I only wish there would be a terrace or deck with a view of the mountains. I can recommend this house for a great vacation.

Cozy and comfortable home in a great location.

The home is comfortable and well equipped. Walking distance to the gondola and ski hill. Nice big kitchen area with large table and island with 4 counter stools. Found the living room/TV area a little small for 10 adults to sit around at the same time....sectional sofa only seats 6-7 . The hot tub was popular with our guests. The owner Helen, was prompt when answering my messages/questions. The double heated garage is nice to have with an area for skis, boots etc. With the garage and driveway there is room for 5 vehicles. Unfortunately the driveway is quite steep and with the addition of ice, packed snow it was rather challenging to get up the driveway even with winter tires and four wheel drive. Every time we walked up and down the driveway we were fearful that someone would fall and break a limb. (Parking on the road is not an option). Obviously in summer this would not be an issue. The 5th bedroom with 2 twin beds is small and has no dresser or closet. More suitable for kids. Overall, I don't regret renting this home.

We are sorry to hear that you found the living room area a little small for 10 adults. It is true that the sectional sofa seats 7 but there is also a comfy chair and two "poofs" that can be used as seats. The kitchen/dining/living area is open plan which helps spread guests around the main floor and give a feeling of spaciousness whilst being able to talk to everyone at the same time. The majority of our bookings over the past 5 years have been groups of 9 - 10 adults - including several weddings - and we have been blessed with receiving many good reviews. The 5th bedroom with two twin beds on the lower floor is the smallest bedroom. We appreciate that it is more suited to children/teenagers although the beds are the same size and model as the other beds in the house and thus can easily accommodate large adults. There are two bed-side cabinets with drawers in the bedroom. We appreciate your comments regarding the driveway. The driveway does have a rise to it but in normal winter/snow conditions it is not a problem to drive up. On the few occasions when we have had extreme snow conditions or ice it helps to turn off traction control - we know this from experience! Alternatively, if notified by guests, we can arrange for the driveway to be cleared by snow plough. Unfortunately - or perhaps, fortunately, given the great conditions you had on the pistes - your stay coincided with a huge dump of snow, over 1 meter in a week and over 2 meters in 3 weeks. This made all driving conditions difficult. However, we take on board your comments and we intend to modify the driveway this summer to reduce the "rise" and increase the parking area. As for walking up and down the driveway, we provide ice melt for guests to use if the conditions are icy. Unfortunately there is not much else we can practically do to combat nature - although guests could choose to walk through the snow in the garden area in extreme ice conditions. Perfect Week Getaway in a Cozy Mountain Retreat

We vacationed for one week at the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort home with a group of 8 friends. It was a perfect place to stay for exploring Golden, Banff, Revelstoke, and other surrounding areas. Although it is a little bit of a drive from the parks, we enjoyed being away from the crowds, and we also had a fun time exploring the restaurants and sights in Golden. On our last evening in town we ate at a fantastic restaurant very close by in Golden called The Whitetooth Mountain Bistro. We loved everything we had as did our friends. We would highly recommend this restaurant!

The house was immaculate. We loved everything about it! The kitchen was fully stocked so we were able to cook and bake meals for our group. There were plenty of towels and linens for use the entire week, including extra towels for the hot tub. There was fire wood all cut so we could make fires every evening. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean and comfortable and exactly as described on the website. There were even several puzzles in the house and we enjoyed working on those every evening.

The owner of this property was very easy to communicate with and there were easy directions for using the appliances, the locks, etc. I would highly recommend this property to anyone. It is a great retreat for families or groups of friends.
