There's the independent Villandry on Great Portland St for the more special culinary treat...and also the simply fantastic La Fromagerie for cheese. This is one of the best cheese shops in London.

The bathroom has very good water pressure and constant hot water ,so there will be no worries for larger groups staying at the flat. The flat benefits from independent central heating for the somewhat cold British winters.

The bedroom has a wardrobe with hanging space and suitcases can easily be put to the side.

Cleveland Street is home to a number of local shops, cafe's and restaurants and is well positioned close to Charlotte Street and Oxford Street.

Fitzrovia is a neighbourhood in central London, near London's West End lying partly in the London Borough of Camden (in the east) and partly in the City of Westminster (in the west); and situated between Marylebone and Bloomsbury and north of Soho.

More about Fitzrovia: This historically bohemian area was once home to such writers as Virginia Woolf, George Bernard Shaw and Arthur Rimbaud, Bob Dylan played one of his first shows just down the road.

A few minutes away is Fitzroy Sq...a piece of Georgian design that has aged beautifully.A few more blocks away and one can view the architecture of Nash and his row of terrace houses near Regents Park.

For those traveling with young children a visit to Pollocks Toy Museum on nearby Whitfield St will be sure to delight them. The perfect place to pick up gifts for those back home! I have to admit even I go in there and I'm always in awe of the treasures of childhoods past that they have on display.Next door is their theatre print shop...again...well worth a visit. Whilst on the subject of theatre there's the Theatre Bookshop on Conway St with its numerous books on all theatre related matters.

The number of restaurants on nearby Charlotte St really is amazing. There's something to cater to every taste and budget! We can assure you that you'll love this street. This street is less than 5 minutes from the flat.

The London Zoo is nearby and this should delight all ages.

The nearby shopping on Oxford St will be a real treat for people who love to shop until they drop. From high end shops to the two very large budget Primarks, one will find something to take back home with them. After a morning strolling aroud the West End a special treat of a full English Afternnoon Tea will sure to become a special memory of your time in London. Yes, it can be somewhat expensive but it should be something that should be tried if you have the time and budget. The Ritz is by far the best in London. The Savoy, The Dorchester,Browns, and Clariddge's are all expensive but worth it.The National Portrait Gallery,The Wallace Collection and the Langham are more affordable and equally as good. Fortnum and Mason on nearby Picacadilly is also worth it. Their food hall is amazing/and even if you don't have time for the full Afternoon Tea you could buy some tea to take back with you. The tin cans are simply stunning in design.A great gift for those back home.

Best Of Fitzrovia -some of the best dining places are only moments from our flat

About James Koumis property manager

My name is James and I manage this property for a friend of mine. My oldest and best friend owns the flat upstairs!

Why James Koumis property manager chose Fitzrovia

I love the area of Fitzrovia.! It's such a great area to stay in and the street is very quiet. There's very much a community feel to it with the owners of the numerous cafes and restaurants always saying hello. It's sometime hard to believe that this is right in the centre of London as the neighbourhood is so friendly. There are great quality shops with minutes of the flats and you can even walk to Covent Garden from here. The main shopping areas of Regent St and Oxford St are just down the road.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Thanks so much for the great suggestions and all your help.We had a wonderful time including a really nice dinner at the Fitzroy Tavern, a day at the British Museum and so much more.

Great location, cozy, clean & well equipped

  • 5 of 5

Loved our 9 day stay in Fitzrovia. Very convenient to tube and busses, but also easy walking distance to British Museum, Covent Gardens, and even Trafalgar Square is only a little over a mile away.

We're a family of four, which made for somewhat tight quarters (teenagers in the living room, us in the bedroom), but the flat with tiny corner kitchen had everything we needed for easy breakfast and the occasional dinner "at home".

The immediate area is packed with restaurants & pubs (Fish Bone, Brazilian Gourmet and Vasis were all excellent and on same block as the flat), several grocery stores, and a few blocks from Regents Park which is a lovely place for a bit of nature. The flat is not located on a particularly lovely block of London - the building across the street is boarded up - but very safe and as I said extremely convenient. The street was a little noisy a few nights, but we always travel with earplugs, and it was nothing out of the usual for city noise.

Jon and James were both incredibly helpful and kind. Jon met us and made sure we were settled and had everything we needed, and James rescued us on our final day when our teen left their suitcase in the flat as we were leaving. Thanks to you both!

Owner's Response: I'm so pleased you enjoyed the flat. Yes, there are so many great places to eat within minutes of the flat and it's good to know you found them to excellent. We try to encourage our guests to support local independent places, which thankfully Fitzrovia has many of.

The apartment is good, the position is very good, we enjoyed it.

  • 4 of 5

We were a family of three (12 years old daughter), arrived around midnight to the place where Benedict was kindly waiting for us. She was very nice and she introduced us to the apartment and it's surrounding. The position is very good, 5 minutes from the Warren street underground and 15 minutes to the Oxford street. Very quiet and safe neighborhood. Also, groceries shops are nearby as well as few restaurants and excellent fish and chips just next door. West End theaters are also very near.

The apartment itself was clean and has everything you could possibly need, but a little bit more maintenance is needed, especially regarding the switches. The wifi wasn't working for last few days but we did not bother.

All in all, we had a good experience with Benedict's Apartment.

Owner's Response: Thank you- It's great to hear you enjoyed your time in Fitzrovia and the flat. The switches have now been fixed. That's very odd about the WI FI,so perhaps it was just a network fault...but in future I'll put out notes on how to reboot it should it happen again. I'm always happy to pop down and troubleshoot for guests/and all one has to do is contact me.I didn't know about this issue. I'm so pleased your family enjoyed really is a great place.

Wonderful location for our stay

  • 4 of 5

The location and affordability of this flat made our stay in London very enjoyable. Benedicte, who greeted us upon our arrival, was very friendly and made us feel instantly welcome. James the property manager was very helpful and responsive to any inquiries I had.

Although it was a bit smaller than we were expecting, it met our needs. The entire flat was clean and came with multiple London guidebooks to help us. Location is by far the best perk of this flat. We were within walking distance from some great pubs and coffee shops. Overall, I would gladly stay in this apartment again or recommend to fellow travelers.
