The flat was fully refurbished less than a year ago and features solid oak flooring throughout, provencial stonework in the bathroom and integrated kitchen appliances. There's a fridge/freezer, hob and plenty of pots and pans for those wishing to cook meals at home. A water filter is also supplied. There's a filter coffee maker, a French Press There's an excellent choice of shops that sell fresh ground coffee.

We Just added a new sofa bed.

There's a selection of grocery shops within a five minute walk of the flat, Sainsbury's, Marks and Spencer, Tesco and Waitrose will have all you need for your stay.

There's the independent Villandry on Great Portland St for the more special culinary treat...and also the simply fantastic La Fromagerie for cheese. This is one of the best cheese shops in London.

The bathroom has very good water pressure and constant hot water ,so there will be no worries for larger groups staying at the flat. The flat benefits from independent central heating for the somewhat cold British winters.

The bedroom has a wardrobe with hanging space and suitcases can easily be put to the side.

Cleveland Street is home to a number of local shops, cafe's and restaurants and is well positioned close to Charlotte Street and Oxford Street.

Fitzrovia is a neighbourhood in central London, near London's West End lying partly in the London Borough of Camden (in the east) and partly in the City of Westminster (in the west); and situated between Marylebone and Bloomsbury and north of Soho.

More about Fitzrovia: This historically bohemian area was once home to such writers as Virginia Woolf, George Bernard Shaw and Arthur Rimbaud, Bob Dylan played one of his first shows just down the road.

A few minutes away is Fitzroy Sq...a piece of Georgian design that has aged beautifully.A few more blocks away and one can view the architecture of Nash and his row of terrace houses near Regents Park.

For those traveling with young children a visit to Pollocks Toy Museum on nearby Whitfield St will be sure to delight them. The perfect place to pick up gifts for those back home! I have to admit even I go in there and I'm always in awe of the treasures of childhoods past that they have on display.Next door is their theatre print shop...again...well worth a visit. Whilst on the subject of theatre there's the Theatre Bookshop on Conway St with its numerous books on all theatre related matters.

The number of restaurants on nearby Charlotte St really is amazing. There's something to cater to every taste and budget! We can assure you that you'll love this street. This street is less than 5 minutes from the flat.

The London Zoo is nearby and this should delight all ages.

The nearby shopping on Oxford St will be a real treat for people who love to shop until they drop. From high end shops to the two very large budget Primarks, one will find something to take back home with them. After a morning strolling aroud the West End a special treat of a full English Afternnoon Tea will sure to become a special memory of your time in London. Yes, it can be somewhat expensive but it should be something that should be tried if you have the time and budget. The Ritz is by far the best in London. The Savoy, The Dorchester,Browns, and Clariddge's are all expensive but worth it.The National Portrait Gallery,The Wallace Collection and the Langham are more affordable and equally as good. Fortnum and Mason on nearby Picacadilly is also worth it. Their food hall is amazing/and even if you don't have time for the full Afternoon Tea you could buy some tea to take back with you. The tin cans are simply stunning in design.A great gift for those back home.

Best Of Fitzrovia -some of the best dining places are only moments from our flat

Why James and Charlene chose Camden & Covent Garden

James and myself simply love the area of Fitzrovia. We own the flat above also! It's such a great area to stay in and the street is very quiet. There's very much a community feel to it with the owners of the numerous cafes and restaurants always saying hello. It's sometime hard to believe that this is right in the centre of London as the neighbourhood is so friendly. There are great quality shops with minutes of the flats and you can even walk to Covent Garden from here. The main shopping areas of Regent St and Oxford St are just down the road.

all that we needed in a quiet London community

My husband and I stayed 6 nights on holiday as first time visitors to London. My first impression was the place was a little outdated. We got used to coming home and relaxing in the apartment every night after a busy day sightseeing. Kitchen area was great, equipped with anything you would need. As was bedroom. Washer and dryer were much appreciated.Just needed a couple new pillows on the chairs and a pop of color. Cleveland street was not much to look at, but everywhere within a 2 block radius was delightful. a small park, a big park, several Tube stations within walking distance. The proximity of restaurants on Charlotte St. was fabulous and such a variety.

James was very easy to work with and just delightful, although we did not need much, and Charlene let us in and gave us a lot of help with navigating area and transit. Very easy to work with.

Owner's Response: Thank you . We're pleased you enjoyed your stay. We have updated the mid century modern chair(as it could have been abit too retro)with a more comfortable chair which fits in very well with the decor of the flat. It's great that you had the chance to eat out on Charlotte St,as it really is one of the best places for dining in Central London. We hope you'll stay in Fitzrovia again. Best Wishes James and Charlene

Great place; very centrally located..

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful cosy place. Clean and everything in place. There is a big double bed in the bedroom and futons in the living room. The fireplace is decoration, it is not a real fireplace. The kitchen had a coffee machine with tabs. TV and WLAN were fine. We were surprised how quiet the place is as it is very centrally located. A few blocks to the Oxford street; a few minutes walk to the Regents Park and Great Portland Street. Many restaurants in the neighbourhood. We tried the Indian restaurants two blocks away. It was fantastic. The corridor of the house to get into the flat is quite narrow. We will come again.

Great location in Fitzrovia!

Perfect location in Fitzrovia! Warren tube station quite near. Comfortable and convenient with everything you'd want including small kitchen. Upstairs people were a bit noisy but on the whole it was a great flat. I recommend it!

Great Location

  • 3 of 5

We stayed for one week and the location is excellent. The pictures of the apartment are much nicer than the place itself. The check in was flawless and we were able to leave our language before check in time. The furniture looks like something from a flea market, not in good condition. The mattress was supplemented by cheap foam. We had to take the foam off and the bed was very firm. The shower door seal is broken, there is mold around the corners and the handheld shower holder was missing. The owners had the handheld shower fixed after we complained within 2 days. There is a lot of clutter in the drawers from previous renters. The bathroom cabinet is held together with tape. There are no instructions for the apartment's functions. The hallway up to the apartment is very narrow, no railing and the steps are very steep. The positives were the location and the washer and dryer.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments. I'm pleased you really enjoyed the Central London location of the flat.James and myself always try to help with early check ins as we understand that after a long journey it's helpful to be able drop off luggage. The bed has a memory foam topper that is very comfortable so I'm sorry to hear that you didn't find this to be the case. The sofa bed in the reception room is less than a year old and is very high quality.I accept that the two vintage chairs won't appeal to everybody but they are comfortable to sit in. The clip for the hand held shower part was replaced the following morning and more white sealing was put around the base of the shower tray. The house is from the 1890's and the stairs are typical for a building of that age.Instructions are always given for use of the appliances upon check in and their official instructions are also in the flat. However, I agree with you that after a long flight guests may not take it all in or wish to look at the manuals so I'll also put more simple instructions in the main info pack on the table.I'm pleased you made use of the washer and dryer and wish you all the best for future travels. Best Wishes Charlene and James

Great stay in London!

  • 5 of 5

Great flat; we had a very lovely stay in this flat. Everything was in place. We have used the sofabed, it was super quality. We didnt expect this. The kitchen was well equipped and clean. The flat had a coffee machine with pads for free use. The bathroom was clean. There are some stairs in the flat to get into the bedroom but this did not bother us. There is enough storage in the bedroom. WLAN and TV worked perfect. Charlene was of big help with information about the area.

Situated in Central London ,a few minutes walk to Oxford Steet. There are so many attractions close by that public transport or a car won't be necessary! However, if you do wish to travel outside of the West End ,our flat is within a 5 minute walk of three tube stations. The area is very safe and has very little traffic!
