|Minimum Stay||3 - 4 nights|
This home is located in the Maravista (Teaticket) area of Falmouth. It is the last home on a quiet street that abuts Great Pond. Walk 30 seconds down the path to get to the water and a small beach. Or, bike, walk or drive one mile to beautiful Bristol and Falmouth Heights beaches. Minutes to several other terrific beaches.
This home was totally redone in 2013. It has 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, large kitchen overlooking the water, large family room, extra sitting room and separate laundry room. (The renovations were featured on HGTV's HouseHunters: Where Are They Now)
Master bedroom is on the first floor and has a king bed and beautiful new bath. There is also a second full bath on the first floor. Second floor has three additional bedrooms and two full baths (one with tub). Both upstairs baths are new. One of the bathrooms is within a bedroom with a queen bed, creating a second master suite. This room also has a huge balcony overlooking the water.
The other two bedrooms (one with full and one with queen) share another new bathroom.
The kitchen is huge and fully equipped. A large table seats 8 and looks out at the water. Features brand new (2015) appliances - double oven, cooktop, dishwasher, refrigerator, two sinks (each with disposal) and beautiful wood floors and cabinetry.
The kitchen is attached to a large family room, with lots of seating and a large 70 inch TV. TV includes local channels, plus a Roku that allows streaming of HBO, Showtime, Amazon, Hulu, Netflix, etc. High speed wifi throughout the house as well as two wired ethernet connections.
There is a very private, large backyard with shower (please clean up before coming in from the beach), large deck, plenty of seating, gas grill, two outdoor tables and a large lawn for playing. Driveway is large enough to accommodate four cars.
Two kayaks are available for your use - we also provide life jackets which must be worn. The house is three miles from the Shining Sea bike path which goes 10.7 miles from North Falmouth all the way to Woods Hole. You can bike to the path in about 20 minutes, or drive to the path's very large, free parking lot. It is a great, easy ride to Woods Hole, where you can then get off and explore the various shops and restaurants, and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, etc.
From Falmouth you can take the ferry to Martha's Vineyard and on to Nantucket, or drive to Hyannis (30 minutes) to take the ferry to Nantucket.
The house is about 2 miles from the center of Falmouth (Main Street) where there is great shopping, terrific dining, ice cream, town square, historic sites and more. There's a nice Farmers Market on the Green on Thursdays. It is a pleasant walk or bike ride, if you like. If you drive to town there is plenty of free parking.
While the house feels very secluded and private, it is actually less than a mile to pharmacies, grocery stores, pizza, fish shop, etc. So, if you forget something at home, it is a 10 minute walk (or a couple minute's drive) to pick up some items.
The house has four zones of central air conditioning, so everyone can be comfortable. A tankless hot water system provides unlimited hot water. There is a separate laundry room with new, state of the art washer and dryer.
This part of the cape is very easy to get to - once you cross the Bourne Bridge, it is only 20 minutes to the house. Come and enjoy a beautiful stay on Cape Cod.
No pets and absolutely no smoking - thanks.
We are farily new transplants to New England (2010). After spending two summers in Boston nearly all by ourselves (we had no idea that so many people move to the Cape or Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket) for the summer, we decided to buy our own summer home. We found this house in an amazing location, that needed some work. We updated everything in the house and created this amazing home. We hope we can share it with you.
Steve Fein purchased this house in 2012
Being right on the water is awesome. And you can see the water from so many places in this house. Also, having two separate outdoor spaces to sit and view the water (upstairs balcony and backyard deck) makes it very special. We think we have made the house very comfortable, yet very modern. Get all the conveniences you are used to at home, while still enjoying a beach house.
Steve's house in the Falmouth area is absolutely wonderful. The house itself was very comfortable and nicely redone. The living room is a great size for a group with a huge tv, water views, and very comfortable furniture. The kitchen is an entertainer/chef's dream. Large, open, and panoramic water views. All of the bedrooms were comfortable the updated bathrooms were very nice.
The house is at the end of a quiet street with a small private beach and kayaks. The outdoor space is ideal with lots of (again super comfortable!) deck/patio furniture. Great indoor/outdoor living space for the warmer summer months. A larger beach is nearby. There's also a great walking/running trail along the water all the way down to the beach if you walk a few streets over and back down to the water.
Falmouth itself was such a cute town with many great restaurants (don't miss out on Simply Divine Pizza, Osteria or Anejo Mexican Bistro). Our group ran the Cape Cod Half Marathon and had so much fun both relaxing at the house and exploring the surrounding areas.
Steve was the best host. He was super responsive to questions and returned our security deposit promptly. We will definitely be returning! We could not have had a better experience.
We loved the deck with the view of the pond and the really comfortable furniture. Kitchen is well stocked. Four full baths are updated and beautiful. Good location for walking and running and easy access to the beach. We will definitely stay again!!
The house was great and in good location. There re plenty of rooms and spaces for all of us to relax and hang around. Very clean and well maintained. Steve is very attentive and always checking on us if we have any issue and easy to reach. We like little beach area that you can walk to. The beach is not too far just short drive or good power walk in the morning. The stop and shop is near by. There was construction of the road so it was a bit inconvenient but not that bad. Overall we love the place.
The house was beautifully redone, comfortable, right next to an adorable beach (perfect for a 2 year-old and a 6 month-old to splash around safely), and conveniently close to town, other larger beaches, and the highway. We cooked almost every night enjoying the large kitchen and grill outside. We couldn't have found a more perfect Cape house for a 4-day getaway for 6 adults and 2 young children. Steve (the owner) was also incredibly accommodating and impressively timely with his correspondence (he even texted to make sure everything was enjoyable and returned our security deposit within less than 24 hours).
Such a superb holiday in Falmouth. The home is gorgeous - beautifully kept and loads of amenities. Hope we can visit again!
What a beautiful house in a perfect location! We loved our vacation at this house!
We gathered our adult children and their babies together for a reunion and had such a wonderful time. This house was the ideal setting. Lots of room and bathrooms as well as some space to find a quiet spot and enjoy the views. It's clean, updated, and in an ideal spot for relaxing. The little ones enjoyed the small beach down the path right outside the house; their parents enjoyed using the kayaks on the water. The view from the decks and kitchen are beautiful. The owner was above and beyond helpful.
