The Blue Span Shenandoah Cabin is a romantic and private weekend getaway cabin with fantastic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Shenandoah Valley. The cabin is a short walk from the Shenandoah River. The cabin is complete with a freestanding fireplace for those special evenings.
This is a very clean modern cabin with rustic touches that brings you comfortably to fully enjoy the splendor of the Shenandoah Valley. You can enjoy cooking out with the charcoal BBQ grill in the evenings. Or you can lazily watch from the hammock the colors of fall or the sunset illuminate the Blue Ridge Mountains as you relax.
This cabin has two very comfortable queen-sized bedrooms, a full bath and fully equipped kitchen including microwave and coffee maker. All pots, pans, utensils, and dinnerware are provided along with basic condiments required for a relaxing stay.
There is a freestanding fireplace in the great room with a sleep sofa. The great room has ample glass for you to enjoy the views while relaxing in front of a fire. We also provide pressed wood fire logs to burn in the freestanding fireplace.
The views from the cabin are nothing short of spectacular. See the sunrise over the Blue Ridge Mountains in the morning while enjoying a cup of freshly brewed coffee or enjoy the sunsets in the evening while eating outside.
The legendary Shenandoah River is but a short walk from the knoll where the cabin sits overlooking it. This stretch of the river is noted for outstanding smallmouth bass fishing and excellent canoeing.
The Shenandoah National Park is a short drive with its excellent hiking trails and fine native brook trout streams. Nearby is a host of recreational activities to include canoeing, tubing, hiking, biking and fishing. Also, a number of excellent tourist attractions are close by.
All linens and towels are provided for two beds.

This is Kathy's private guest cabin located through the woods from her house. It is maintained so she can have family members and guests stay in comfort enjoying the beauty of the Shenandoah Valley.
The Owner purchased this cabin in 1995
As a good friend of mine said, this is one of the last great places left. The natural beauty and splendor of the Shenandoah Valley is a national treasure.
This is very comfortable relaxing cabin with some of the most outstanding views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Shenandoah National Park. You over look the legendary Shenandoah River that winds slowly through the valley. It is just a short walk down to it. The sun sets on the Blue Ridge in the evening showing you why it is so aptly named. The sun rises over the Blue Ridge each morning while you relax and have your morning coffee. The wall of glass in the living room / great room that connects to the dining area and kitchen provides unparalleled vistas all day long.
Oh my goodness. There are no such words to describe this place. The mountains are our favorite "get a way" and this is by far our favorite place we have ever stayed. The view is spectacular and your home is so cozy. My only regret is that our stay was so brief! Thank you so much for making our mini vacation so wonderful. I found myself longing to be back in the cabin the whole time we were in town. We definitely will be back. Thanks Again. Brittany & Jay
My parents, husband and I stayed at Kathy's place a few weekends ago to enjoy the fall colours. The vista from the living room and deck is absolutely fantastic, both at sunrise and at sunset, and we really enjoyed all the cozy amenities (fireplace, outside grill, hammock...) We very much recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing and beautiful outing near Shenandoah National Park. We also found the cabin very well decorated and equipped, extremely clean, and really comfortable. Wish we could have stayed longer!
my husband and I had such a beautiful peaceful weekend at your cabin,,,everything was fantastic the views were absolutely outstanding of the mountains....we were so happy and content this pas weekend I was our 3rd wedding anniversary we really enjoyed the fireplace as well! thank you so much for renting thiss cabin to us we will be back!
We have stayed in many cabins in the Blue Ridge area over the years and this was the best stay ever. Everything we needed, clean and the most accommodating owners ever. A change of travel dates was handled with ease. The views of the mountain were stunning. The beds are comfortable and everything needed was provided. We will absolutely return. Cannot recommend highly enough.
What a perfectly cozy retreat nestled in the mountains:) Kathy and Chris were incredibly accommodating and the perfect hosts. The pictures accurately reflect the property. The cabin was well-equipped and everything was just about perfect. I would most definitely stay here again and would highly recommend the property to others.
On a recent trip out from South Africa to visit family in Virginia we happened upon the Blue Span cabin. A very comfortable stay with everything we possibly needed on hand. A real homely feel, very clean and really pretty views. Would highly recommend the cabin.
This cabin was exactly what we were looking for for a romantic weekend in the mountains. It has a true cabin feel without feeling old or too rustic. It was very clean and everything we needed was there (towels, shower supplies, kitchenware, salt/pepper etc). The bed was very comfortable in the master bedroom and the living room was a cozy place to hang out with the fire going (there was another spacious bedroom so this could be great for a group of 4 as well). The back porch is beautiful and your view of the mountains is excellent. We also were able to see the Milky Way overhead at night - An unusual and welcome sight for us living in DC. It was quiet and serene and romantic and I would definitely rent it again. It's about a half-hour drive from this cabin to the Thornton Gap entrance of Shenandoah National Park and many wonderful trails. We did not meet Kathy because she was away for the weekend, but we met Chris and he was very nice and helpful. He saw us arrive (in the middle of a rainstorm) and quickly came over to make sure we could get into the house quickly and acquaint us with the rental and area. They live on the next lot over but we did not see him again until check out. You do not feel as if there are any other houses around!
