Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in Owls Head - The SeaMeadow

The SeaMeadow- 3 bdrm house on 7 acres of panoramic cove side/ocean view meadow

This cozy, pine paneled house provides a screened porch with meadow and cove views for dining and relaxing. This is an "unplugged property" which does not have cable/internet connection- a place to enjoy the surround of nature, each other's company and your own lobster dinners! Privately set behind pine woods, yet not remote, Point View Lane is essentially our driveway off a short, residential road that ends at a quiet, broad sand beach in the quiet fishing village of Owls Head, ME. There are two bedrooms with queen beds, one on 1st floor and one on 2nd with a half bath, and a third bedroom on 2nd floor with two twin beds and its own sink. Full bath 1st floor with washer/dryer, kitchen with dishwasher. (total baths, 1 1/2)

Two well-behaved and tended dogs may be welcome (no cats); no indoor smoking, please. Wi-fi hot spots are available nearby at the airport terminal and at various locations in Rockland.

  • Long-term Renters Welcome

What makes this house unique

A quiet and private retreat with panoramic views in a surround of nature, yet not remote- only 10 minutes to Rockland and its many resources and attractions, with the charms of Rockport and Camden a little further up the road. Also, lobsters off the boat in Owls Head harbor!

Owner was very helpful and accommodating. this was perfect just far enough away from town but still close to all attractions. Waking up and seeing wildlife from deer to ducks couldn't be any better. My family and I enjoy this area, we have visited from Bar harbor to Kittery and seem to keep choosing rockland area, No TV No wifi, glad it didn't . Thank you Chip for letting us enjoy your home. First home we have ever rented and had a great experience.

Owner's Response: Thanks, Michael and family. So glad to hear how you enjoyed the place and the area that you already love. Glad you had the pleasure of a deer visitation- saw a doe and young one there, myself, a couple of weeks ago. My 7 acres of meadow, along with neighboring woods, provide something of a nice refuge for them, not to mention the autumn apples! You'll let me know if you'd like to come back next time you get Rockland on your mind... Enjoy the season!

Amazing views and peaceful!

  • 5 of 5

This home is located in the quiet town of Owl's Head. Close to everything! My husband and I brought our 3 children and 2 dogs with us for our first trip to Maine. We were not disappointed! The homeowner, Chip was so helpful and really went above and beyond to make our stay a great one! The house itself is rustic with no tv or wifi, which was perfect for us to spend time together instead of playing on electronics all day. I would sit on the screened in porch in the mornings and just listen to the seagulls. It is so quiet and peaceful. The house had everything we needed. The property was breathtaking and my kids loved playing tag and hide and seek in the beautiful paths outside. When the tide went down we would all go exploring the beach area for shells and any other collectibles we could find. Nearby was the Owl's Head General Store which has an amazing burger! We also went to Birch Point Beach for some swimming and exploring of the rocks. We were all sad to leave and could have spent an entire summer there just relaxing at Chip's house! We will definitely rent this house again for our next vacation to Maine! It was perfect!!

Owner's Response: Please pardon a late response from me. I had read your review when it was posted. It was so gratifying to read of the pleasures of your stay. You and your family experienced and enjoyed all the magic and delights of the SeaMeadow and the nearby area. Perhaps you enjoyed other attractions in the lively nearby harbor towns and perhaps further afield. Your stay was fairly brief, so perhaps you can stay a little longer next time and discover many of the other attractions and points of interest along with the peaceful enchantment down Point View Lane. Contact me any time. Regular guests have already reserved 2017 dates. Now, enjoy the autumn season!

Magical meadow with plenty of room to get lost and enjoy quality time with those you love.

  • 5 of 5

Let the excitement build while slowly driving down the wooded path leading to Sea Meadow. Upon exiting the woods, prepare for the expanse of your new abode and surroundings. Yeah, your're in it now- the way life should be. Quaint little rustic sea patina'd cottage with an expansive meadow of hundreds of species of native flora celebrating this spot. Grass lined trails guide you through the exit of where you left for the week and transport you to the place you dreamed of while looking at the photos and reading the description of this special spot. The cove is proximal and allows exploration for all, including children, adults and furry friends as well. There is plenty of room for outdoor family fun. The cottage is rustic and comfortable. The absence of media and technology allow for the enjoyment of simple and home made fun and relaxation. Great area for bike riding. There is a beach within walking distance providing swimming and fishing, kayaking, etc. Come visit this wonderful spot and live by the tides while being proximal enough to explore this region of my favorite state. Rockland has everything you need to get back into it if need be and there is is plenty to keep you busy while being away from it all to state parks and beaches, aquariums, wineries, museums, art, etc. Cant fit it all in so do your exploring and get ready to book again. Just don't take my week. Chip is most accommodating and really provides some great advice of how to take advantage of this spot and area. Enjoy.

Relaxation and Peaceful

  • 4 of 5

Chip was very helpful with things to do in the local area and what restaraunts to visit. The cottage has no TV, Internet or phone and it was perfect as we were looking to avoid all the distractions of technology. The cottage sets back off the road and through the woods, so privacy is what you get. We appreciated Chip's hel and we are looking forward to spending time up north again some day.

Owner's Response: Catching up with reviews, I was pleased that you enjoyed your stay, though I was surprised to see you describe "no phone". Perhaps you tried to make a long distance call. I'll take this opportunity to let prospective guests know that there is land line local/regional service (with phone book) to save folks some cell phone minutes, to be able to easily look up local businesses and to have the convenience of the up and downstairs wireless extensions so cell phones don't always have to be at hand. There is a message machine attached, as well. I don't provide long distance service as it was too complicated to manage guest charges, and most folks have cell phones. Calling cards can also be used. Thank you, again, Jim, for your visit to the SeaMeadow. Come again!

Rustic house in a beautiful setting.

My husband, 9 year old son and I spent a fabulous 4 days in Owls Head and loved our vacation! Chip was quite accommodating in helping us make a last minute vacation work. The nearby state park and local beaches were wonderful.

Loved being close to Rockland which has an amazing array of varied and delicious restaurants. Also, the Owl's Head General store has great breakfast and burgers! HiIghly reommend
