About Tim Burns

I'm outgoing and like a good joke. I have a Boston accent but don't hold that against me. I'm semi retired. I've been married to my wife Jeannie since 1998. I love working outside, playing golf, and taking walks in the Historic downtown. We have 2 indoor cats that keep us company. We are avid movie-goers and walk to the local movieplex every week. The best coffee in St. Petersburg in located around the corner at Kawak Coffee Shop. You'll find me there every day.

Tim Burns purchased this cottage in 2000

Why Tim Burns chose St Petersburg

Transferred from Boston in 1980 by my company. I moved around quite a bit. I eventually found myself in the best place on the West coast-St. Petersburg. The downtown was going through a a renaissance and I was lucky to find this bungalow located in the Historic district known as the Old Northeast in 2000. We renovated the main house and we later added a carriage house in the back. We love our secret garden and would like to share this secret with you.

What makes this cottage unique

This is one of the closest guest houses to the downtown you'll find. Your day starts with morning coffee on the upstairs balcony. You could reach out and pluck a grapefruit from our citrus trees. You'll be serenaded by morning doves and Mockingbirds. You then head out on a slow walk to everything you would desire. I'm blessed by being so close to the downtown where everything is a short walk away.

Great quiet location in old St Pete

  • 5 of 5

The description and pictures on line are accurate and Tim is a good host. There were two of us in town for the boat show so the location was terrific. We appreciated the quiet setting and off street parking since we were working everyday at the show. There were plenty of good restaurants close by, although we chose to bring in take-out or do light cooking ourselves. Although the kitchen is small, there is enough there to make meals if you bring in food, spices, your chefs knife, etc. like we do. The upstairs bedroom is great if someone wants to sleep later than the other person. Thank you Tim for sharing your carriage house with us; just wish we had found the time to use the hot tub!

Location was perfect for all the downtown St. Pete locations. House was great and it was awesome having a fenced in yard for my dogs. I highly recommended this location. Owners are very nice and easy to work with.

Our guest house is located in the Historic Northest section of St. Petersburg one block from the Downtown. We are a very short walk to the downtown. We boast the largest number of waterfront parks in the South. There are several restaurants of every description. The 5 star Historic Vinoy Hotel can be viewed from the Carriage House balcony. We are almost next door to the Palladium Concert Hall which has all forms of live music every night. Live theater is downtown at the American Stage and there is a 20 movie theater complex located in our new Sundial Center. As for museums, we have several. To name a few- the Museum of Fine Arts has the largest art collection in the South. Others located in the downtown include the Salvatore Dali Art Museum, Chihuly Glass Museum and the Holocaust Museum. Many don't realize but we are the home to commercial aviation. Our Museum of History traces that along with other details of about the city. And no visit would be complete if you didn't take the last look at St. Pete's icon -The Pier. It's slated to be torn down and replaced with an even better one by 2017. We have it all... Sun-Fun and Relaxation
