Two Bedroom Guesthouse With Luxury 5'x4' Shower. Wonderful Patio To Enjoy!

Stay 3 nights including Friday and Saturday and receive your 4th night free. Offer valid March 1 - May 31. Please note that I will need to edit the quote to reflect the discount before booking.

The Quetil Trail Guesthouse is located on the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail, walking distance to Hedman Vineyards and Alto Vineyards, and only 15 minutes from Giant City State Park. Two Bedrooms (Queen beds in each) and a fold out queen couch in the living room to sleep 6.

Sit on the patio and enjoy the afternoon sun, or watch the River to River hikers walk by. Walk to Grammer's market for basic grocery supplies or stroll over to the Rootbeer Saloon for a cool afternoon treat.

The property is conveniently located close to area wineries, Giant City State Park, and other attractions and beauty unique to Southern Illinois. Neary towns include 1. Cobden, Goreville, Anna, Jonesboro, Alto Pass, Makanda, Dongola, Carbondale, Marion, Vienna, Carterville, Herrin, and Murphysboro.

Eclipse 2017 Payment Terms - 33% due at booking, 33% due 6 months before arrival, 33% due 30 days before arrival. Eclipse cancellations will receive 100% refund if canceled 6 months or more prior to arrival, 50% refund if cancelled 90 days or more before arrival, and 0% refund if cancelled less than 90 days before arrival.

About Steve Young

I grew up in Southern Illinois, and could not wait to 'Get Out,' 'Escape,' and go to the big city. I went to school in Chicago at the Illinois Institute of Technology, and left Southern Illinois far behind. I thought this was great.

I had a very successful career in the online advertising, marketing, and market research world catering to big pharma. In a normal year I would fly 125,000 miles and see many places, countries and sites.

As I grew older and my 'success' continued I felt more and more that something was missing. I began to yearn for the hills of Southern Illinois, the slower pace of life, and the people I left behind more and more.

I 2013, I came home for a few weeks to help my mother move my father into a nursing home. After this was completed I flew to Milan for business, and on my way back I received a call that my mother had had a stroke. This was a life changing event for me, and I never really went home.

My father spent the year getting worse, and my Mother spent the year getting better. When my father died in December of 2013, I decided to 'officially' move to Southern Illinois in order to spend more time with my mother and be closer with family. I also made the decision to leave the company I worked for and do something simpler, and local to Southern Illinois.

June 1st, 2014 I started my company with the goal to create vacation rental homes in Southern Illinois and help the area grow tourism. Southern Illinois is a beautiful and special place, and I would like to share it with as many people as possible.

Why Steve Young chose Illinois

This property was a a two unit rental property located in the quaint town of Alto Pass. The price was right to allow me to completely gut and remodel the back unit. A more organized upstairs with two lovely bedrooms and an amazing bathroom.

The front unit is still rented long term to the couple that was there when i purchased the property. Should they ever decide to leave I will fully refurbish the front unite in order to make two adjacent guesthouses for people coming to Southern Illinois to enjoy the outdoors and wineries.

The proximity to wineries, and area attractions is also great for this property.

Wow!! Great Find - Cabin by the Creek

My wife and I rented Cabin by the Creek for my sons graduation from SIU and what a great find it was. Post graduation we sampled several wineries, (2 of them are with approx 3 miles of the cabin), in the area and after spending time their we retreated back to the cabin with bottles of the local wine, family and friends. Sitting on the deck of the cabin, (which is just a few feet from the creek), listening to the water pass over the rocks/rapids, nestled in the woods is wonderfully peaceful. The cabin is very relaxed, clean and comfortable. Kitchen and bathrooms are modern and well appointed. Everything you need to prepare and serve meals is there. The is a really nice fire pit near the cabin with numerous Adirondack chairs around it and plenty of firewood. We didn't get a chance to use the fire pit but plan to during our next visit Southern Illinois. The owners are responsive and took a genuine concern to ensure our stay was pleasant and comfortable. I would highly recommend this cabin, it's a wonderful find in a really scenic portion. (Alto Pass / Shawnee Nat'l Forest) and you can't beat the price for all that you get. Kudos and much thanks, we will be returning.

Winery get away!!

We've been traveling for the last 2 1/2 months this Spring and staying in Steve Youngs awesome homes. Each one has its own special touch!! This is our 3rd stay and different house!! Even though we're in the middle of town....it's still so peaceful. Lots to do...there's a forest area across the street where you can walk for miles and also repel. 3 winery's and 2 which are in walking distance. Hedman, Alto Pass and Von Jakob winery's. There's an interesting Rootbeer Saloon across the street and cafe, Post office, general store, and bank are walking distance as well!! Would highly recommend this quaint house. Has everything at your fingertips. Thank you Steve for your continued personal touch on everything and your kindness!! You are so easy to work with. Wish we would've known about your getaways years ago while we've been traveling to see our son play ball the last 4 years!! You can't go wrong w/Steve Young!! Best experience ever!! #Homeawayfromhome

Relaxing Get Away - Home Away From Home

I've been a VRBO leaser for years. First thing I look to is reviews. Second is photos. And, at the time of making contact - responsiveness. Steve and his property get high marks on ALL fronts. The four of us SO enjoyed our long weekend getaway in Shawnee Wine Country. The property is about 20-25 minutes south of Carbondale - and in the heart of the wine trail.The property was very comfortable for us - and we were thrilled to be able to bring our furry babies for a slightly higher fee to simply cover extra cleaning. With every text, Steve was prompt to reply. Highly recommend this property! ENJOY your visit!!

Great getaway

The place was as expected - great for our trip. We were able to bring our dog along and everything worked out well. The place was perfectly located to visit the local wineries, parks, and SIU campus.

The Quetil Trail Guesthouse is located on the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail and only minutes from several wineries, Cedar Lake, and Giant City State Park. Sitting "downtown" Alto Pass, several wineries can be reached on foot, as well as hiking several sections of the River to River trail.

The property is located 100 feet from the entrace to the Quetil Trail, and hikers of the River to River trail pass by almost daily in good weather.
