From the moment you arrive, you immediately sense the Aloha spirit and the other-worldliness of Kauai's North Shore; Hanalei Bay Villas' surroundings are stunning and beyond beautiful. The unique charm, ideal location, and dramatic beauty provide an island experience to be treasured.
Our island home comfortably accommodates up to five guests. It is a traditional Hawaiian two-story, pole house design with 1,365 sq ft of living space. To the South, the view looks over a lush green valley toward the rugged interior mountains with cascading waterfalls, shifting clouds, and brilliant rainbows. To the North, the home opens to the blue Pacific. The scenic cliff overlook is a great place to take in sunrise or sunset and is also good for whale watching during the winter months. These natural surroundings provide a dramatic backdrop to your island retreat; some of the most beautiful scenery on the island is right at home.
The living space, covered lanai, beach closet, and half bath are on the upper/entry level. The lower level of the home has three bedrooms; a queen Tempur-Pedic bed in master bedroom, a king bed in 2nd bedroom, and a twin in the office/study. Also downstairs are two full baths, another covered lanai, and laundry area with full size washer/dryer.
Numerous louvered windows throughout and over-sized sliding glass doors to the lanais allow in natural light and cooling trade winds, so you never feel fully indoors like you might in a hotel room or condominium. Air Conditioning is provided in the master suite and second bedroom for additional sleeping comfort if desired.
The St. Regis Resort is only a short walking distance away. Spend the day being pampered at the Halele'a Spa and in the evening enjoy fine dining at several of the island's favorite restaurants.
Beautiful beaches are also within close walking distance. A steep but short hiking trail leads to Kenomene beach (also known as 'Hideaways'), ideal for basking on the warm golden sands or resting under the large shade trees. This 300' stretch of beach is divided by a rock outcropping and offers great snorkeling and coastal views. Pu'u Poa Beach on the eastern shore of Hanalei Bay fronts the St Regis Resort and can be accessed by an outdoor staircase or resort elevator. Follow the foot trail around the bay and during low tide you can wade across the Hanalei River to Hanalei Pier & Beach Pavilion. Here you can rent sea kayaks, boogie boards, surf boards, and stand-up paddle boards to play on the bay.
Within the community of Princeville you will also find gems such as Queen’s Bath, Sea Lodge Beach, and Wyllie Beach. You can play the award winning Maka'i golf course, jog along the 3 mile path, workout at the outdoor fitness circuit, and play tennis at the nearby courts. Princeville Ranch Adventures offers exclusive ziplining, kayaking and hiking tours on 2,500 acres of private lands on the North Shore of Kaua'i. These guided tours take you away from crowds to pristine areas that are otherwise inaccessible to the public. The Princeville Center just two miles away offers a grocery store, grab and go deli, wine market, convenience store, specialty boutiques, art galleries, full service restaurants, and casual courtyard cafes.
Just Down The Road:
Princeville, HI, nestled between Hanalei (4.1 miles W) and Kilihiwai (7.3 mi S), is central to all North Shore attractions and activities. Truly, all are within two to twelve scenic miles of the villa; including the quaint town of Hanalei, Limahuli National Tropical Botanical Gardens, the pristine Na Pali Coast and the Kalalau Trailhead, Kilauea Point Lighthouse and National Wildlife Refuge, and many more hiking trails and beautiful beaches to explore.

Aloha! from Durango, Colorado. The North Shore of Kaua'i has stolen our hearts and is that 'happy place' we visit mentally while off island, where we spend our precious family vacations, and hope to spend our golden years. In the meantime, we invite you to share in the beauty, spirit, and splendor of this amazing place with the ones you hold most dear.

Loved the location, a short walk to magical "Hideaways" beach which is great for swimming and snorkeling. Quiet, peaceful. Step outside your front door to watch the sun set over the ocean (in the summer only). Stargazing any time it's clear. Rain is frequent in Kauai; be prepared. Do the Napali hike (first two miles) but bring Keens or similar "river" sandals as hiking on this island is MUDDY.
House had everything, even a ukelele and discount cards for the local grocery store (Foodland in Princeville). Best stocked VRBO we've ever stayed in. Delighted to find a rice cooker, electric skillet, blender. Beach gear, too.
Most unexpected delight: the view from the back patios (upper and lower) is simply spectacular. The golf course is mostly hidden by forest, and the mountains fill the scene. I could've sat there all day.
We did have one significant issue and contacted the homeowner, who responded promptly and had it immediately taken care of.
Highly recommend this property.
This house is amazing and the owner is so helpful and accommodating. We can't wait to vacation again in Kauai next summer at this same home. The house has everything you need and the location is perfect!
I can't say enough great things about this property. All of the previous positive reviews are accurate. The views of the mountains are spectacular. The interior is spacious and the condo is well-stocked. Very comfortable and plenty of room for my family of four. The owner was very accommodating and was very fast in responding to any of my questions along the way.
My family and I stayed here for about a week and absolutely fell in love with this place. The view from the lanai is beyond words to describe how spectacular it is. You feel like you are in the backdrop of Jurassic Park. And then you have the best of both worlds because you have the beach sunset view just across the street in the front of the villa. The home decor is so cute- very hawaiian and goes great with the island theme. The beds are so comfortable and the house is fully stocked with anything you could need. This includes snorkel gear, boogie boards, beach towels and kitchen necessities. Donna is very responsive and makes sure you are taken care of before and after you arrive. I definitely plan on staying in this beautiful home when I return to Kauai again. Absolutely stunning house!!! You will truly be in paradise when you stay here!
I'm not sure what I can say about this house that hasn't already been said?! If I could give this home 10 stars I would. First, the home itself is in the best location in Princeville! Each morning we walked to the shops in Princeville and had breakfast ~ round trip it was about 4 miles. We walked to 2 beaches (Hidden Beach and the St. Regis Beach) and each night all we had to do was walk 20 steps across the street to have the best view of the sunset. People drive from all over the island to this exact point to watch the sunsets and we were able to just walk out our front door. And the view of the mountains while sitting on the back patio is stunning. We counted waterfalls each morning and even saw a few rainbows. You are just a 10 minute drive time to Hanalei as well.
Second, the amenities here are way more than expected. The bed in the master bedroom was just what we needed after hiking and/or snorkeling all day. The kitchen was equipped with everything you can think of. There was even a crock pot with island recipes included! And if you needed something to take to the beach, it was there. Chairs, towels, umbrellas, hats, snorkel equipment, boogie boards, etc. My husband and I are pretty active so not only would we walk in the morning but we found many different hikes throughout the island. By the end of the day our clothes were less than desirable. So the fact that there was a full size washer/dryer in the house made it all the more bearable! It was like we were staying at a family members house....not a rental.
Third, Donna and Art were amazing to work with. They are always quick to respond to answer any question and they make you feel like you have known them forever. They are more than gracious too. There was some unexpected maintenance at the neighbors house, so Art and Donna presented us with a beautiful gift that was fitting for our anniversary.
If you are staying on Kauai, in Princeville, you would be remiss if you didn't book this location. As much as I love this house, I am hesitant to recommend it....I'm worried it won't be available the next time we want to visit!!! Seriously though, this place is a "10" and you and your family will love it!!!
We really enjoyed our stay - everything was as advertised and lived up to all the previous positive reviews. Right across the street from the ocean with spectacular views of the beginning of the Na Pali coastline at sunset. I went with my two teenage children and the accommodations were terrific for our family - having bedrooms downstairs and main living area upstairs made it really flexible with different sleep/wake schedules and to spread out at times. The house and kitchen was well stocked with lots available to use at the beach - we'll definitely be back!
Those who simply need to relax and unwind can enjoy Kauai's simple pleasures and grand landscapes right from home. Variety seekers can enjoy: Snorkeling, Stand-Up Paddling on the Hanalei River and Bay, Kite Boarding, Surfing, Zip Line Adventure Tours, Outrigger Canoe and Kayak Tours, Slack Key Guitar and Ukulele Concerts, Farmer's Markets, golf, Tennis, Boogie Boarding, Hiking the Hanalei 'Okolehao, Kalalua, and Powerline trails; Horseback Riding & Waterfall Tours, Catamaran Boat Tours, Kilauea Lighthouse and Bird Sanctuary...
