Amazing vacation!

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I just spend the week in 302 and 503 and the pictures absolutely reflect the condos. The furnishings, view, and the extremely well equipped kitchen made our stay phenomenal; the kitchen is one of the best stocked kitchens I have ever rented. There was nothing we wished we had, it's all very well thought out. The supply closet even had boogie boards and sand buckets, these little details make all the difference. Kathi is super nice and very responsive to any needs; Wayne, our taxi driver was so personable, we used him many times during the week and having transportation to and from the airport was perfect. The security staff on site was very helpful in arranging the grill and assisting us with groceries and anything we needed. We all felt very safe during our stay and I would highly recommend this villa for an amazing Barbados stay.

The beach has what I call sugar sand, so smooth to walk in. The ocean colors are amazing and the water temperature was great. We utilized the pool and the chairs and really enjoyed hearing the crashing waves and just relaxing.

Each bedroom had good closet space, the bathrooms had everything you need. We all loved the rain heads in the showers, it just made our stay very enjoyable.

I would highly recommend renting this unit and can't wait to return!

Nice Location, Great Condo

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week in Unit 302 and all agreed that the pictures and descriptions of the condo were accurate. Clean and comfortable with a very nice view of the ocean, beach and surrounding area. The "welcome" groceries are a big plus after a long trip and we appreciated having them available.

Pros: Location, Pool, Lounge chairs, well equipped kitchen, balcony, airport transportation by Wayne

Cons: Being picky here....Bedrooms are all dark (one has no windows at all) almost cave like, if you like to sleep in you won't have any challenges here. :) We had some trouble with the TV connections in the bedrooms but we weren't there to watch TV.

The water in front of the condo did have red algae which made the water look dirty, but you can't control mother nature. Some days were better than others.

Things to do: Be daring and use the Reggae bus for transportation up and down the coastal road. It's an adventure and only $1 USD/person. Taxis cost $10 to $20 USD for the same trip. Walk to St. Lawerence Gap - take the beach to the public access, you arrive at the south end of the Gap (10 minute walk). Go for a booze cruise - we choose Jammin Cruises and had a blast. Spend at least one day on the beach at the "Boat Yard". It cost $25/person but we were given $20/person credit toward food and drinks. You get umbrellas and chairs on the beach! Go for a horseback ride at Ocean Echo Stables. We took the 1.5 hr trip through the countryside and beach. Saw monkeys and mongoose. Samantha or Bernhardt will pick you up and bring you home and give you a nice tour on the way. If you like caves, head out to Harrison Caves for a nice guided tour.

Groceries - We took the Reggae bus to the Supercentre in Oistens. They have everything that you might need. There is also Dover's grocery store at the south end of St. Lawerence Gap. Less selection but good if you need just a couple items.

Restaurants: We ate at Bougainvillas twice and were only impress with the Thai restaurant. Be sure to eat at some local establishments and not just the hotel or tourist restaurants. There are several close to condo and along St. Lawerence Gap.

Most of all create your own fun, Barbados is what you make of it and the people are some of the most friendly we have ever met.

One love....

Perfect Barbados vacation!

  • 5 of 5

A group of 6 stayed in the condo and everything was as pictured and I will definitely stay there again. The entire condo was clean and there was even some starter groceries in the fridge. The only issue I had was very minor and not discovered until day 2 of drinking rum punch--the coffee filter was moldy. This probably happened because it wasn't left open to breath. However, I mentioned it to the guy that did our walk though, so that it can be handled for the next guest.

Again, it was minor and I just had more rum instead😁?The pool was nice, but the water in ocean was not swimmable at this end, but I did find some awesome sea glass. Just sitting on the porch/patio listening to the waves at night was enough for me. Like I said, I will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful 3-bedroom condo, well maintained, fantastic ocean view on a quiet beach

  • 5 of 5

Maxwell Beach #302 was everything we expected and more. The oceanfront condo was beautifully furnished and well maintained, and we spent many hours enjoying our perfect view of the beach. If you're looking to both cook in and eat out in Barbados as we were, you'll find the kitchen well-equipped with a large fridge, stove, oven, microwave, toaster and a blender for your drinks. Finding a 6-pack of beer in the fridge and snacks when we arrived after a 12-hour flight delay (Tropical Storm Alberto) was a wonderful touch that we sincerely appreciated; and, despite our arriving at 5am instead of 5pm, our call to Selma insured our airport transfer was waiting for us with a welcoming smile. We utilized Julien and Wayne's driving services for our party of 5 several times during the trip, and they were always accommodating. Each of the 3 bedrooms had a full bath and were of good size, nicely decorated and had a color TV and full cable. The wi-fi worked fine and kept us all connected to the outside world. The outdoor pool is large, frequently empty, and there are plenty of available beach chairs that can be taken out to the beach or placed under the shade of the beautiful palm trees lining the property. The jacuzzi looked nice but was under repair during our trip, with work seeming finished just as we left. Just steps away, the beach is beautiful to look at. With 5-6' waves crashing in around the clock it's better suited to surfers than casual swimmers or waders; but, a bus or taxi ride of 5 minutes can get you to waters smooth as glass. We particularly enjoyed a day trip to the Boat Yard in Bridgetown, where we enjoyed the beach, well-provided shade, and drinks and lunch at Sharkeys. Other recommendations include visiting Harrison Cave and checking out EarthWorks, taking a Tiami Sunset Catamaran Cruise, and enjoying dinner oceanside at Champers (our favorite!) and Café Luna. Finally, a word about walking the beach. Don't think you can walk great distances on the beach unimpeded. Stone jetties jutting out here and there along the beaches are not readily surpassable, especially if you're older; but, you can have a nice short walk from Ocean One passed Sandals next door. We were advised not to walk the beaches after dark; and, we heeded that advise. A convenience store and pizza are both a short walk to re-stock. All in all, I would recommend Ocean One and this unit for any travelers looking for R&R in a beautiful private condo on the beach. Enjoy!

Incredible place to stay!!!! We all absolutely loved it!!

  • 5 of 5

A group of six of us stayed here from April 15 to April 29th and from day one we all were very happy with our choice. We were all in awe of the place and surroundings. Absolutely stunning with a large deck to sit out on. We all loved sitting there in the evenings when we stayed home. The pictures show all of what you are going to have correctly and we never were in need of anything except of course what we wanted. There were some spices here when we got here so that helped as well. Loved that they have a starting package for you! That is a great addition. There is a stacked washing machine and dryer in a closet in the kitchen. We brought dryer sheets and that helped as they supply the detergent but not the dryer sheets. You have a housekeeper that comes in a few times a week and does a fantastic job! Tip her for sure! You have access to the cab driver Wayne and his brother and they are absolutely awesome! We did a trip around the Island with Wayne and it was great! He does a great job at explaining things, so not a bad choice if you are interested in doing that. Any questions you have are answered promptly as well all you have to do is email. There is Bougainvillea right next door that has great food at great prices! Their burger is very good! Happy hour is from 3:30 to 4:30 and we went there every few days. The rum punch is great but can truly catch up with you. The beach is amazing and it is right there, just a few steps away. The pool and hot tub are also great! There is a barbecue on the fourth floor and all you have to do is let them know that you would like to use it and pay them for it. There is a bathroom right on the first floor by the front entrance to use instead of having to go all the way to your room all the time. We used the Dover Market sometimes as it is a bit pricey for sure, otherwise we used Massy as well. Main things that are expensive around the Island is produce for sure. Popular Super market is great as well, we liked that one the most. Only complaint that we had was the bedroom with the twin beds as its not that great even when it is put together so we felt bad for the couple that had to have that room for the full stay, but we it was luck of the rolled dice for the fair way to decide.

Thanks so much for all you did for us and for such a great stay. You truly did make our holiday great! Thanks so much to all of you!!

A) Codrington College: this was built in the 1700s and is one of the oldest Anglican theological colleges in the Western Hemisphere. It is a beautiful place to take pictures, stroll around or even walk with your basket of goodies and enjoy a picnic.

B) St. Nicholas Abbey: it is on the three remaining Jacobean mansions in the Western Hemisphere that comes with a lot of historic background, so ask for Simon Warrens, he will keep you interested with his great stories that would make your visit memorable. The tour includes viewing of the house, surroundings, distillery and rum tasting.

C) North Point: This is by far one of the most beautiful spots on the island. Picturesque views from all around, great for taking pictures. While you are there visit the Animal Flower Cave and get a tour of the underground cave.

D) Harrison's Caves: Barbados is made entirely of limestone and is full of caves. Harrison's Cave is the most discovered and amazing attractions, one of the gems of Barbados.

E) Little Bay: Secluded and tucked away lies this beautiful beach. Climb around the bay head into the private rock pool facing the full mighty of the Atlantic Ocean. Pack your coolers with some sandwiches, drinks and enjoy a relaxing day in simple tranquillity.

F) Bathsheba: Legend has it that Bathsheba, wife of King David, bathed in milk to keep her skin beautiful and soft. It is breathtakingly beautiful with wide white sand beaches stretch along a dramatic coastline but be aware of the waves as it can become very rough. Also a great spot for a picnic, picture-taking and just enjoying this amazing place!

G) Surfing and Stand Up Paddling: There are plenty of places to surf in Barbados depending on your level of experience. Both are very enjoyable and can be easily accessible on Peach Beach.

H) Cool Runnings Catamaran Cruise: This is one my favorite tours on the island. It includes snorkeling, swimming with fishes, viewing of a ship wreck, feeding turtles, lunch snacks and beverages. Booking can be made in advance with me.

I) Oistin Fish Fry: Enjoy fresh grilled fish, lobster, shrimp & mahi mahi , every day of the week at 6:30pm and onwards.

J) St. Lawrence Gap: Located on the south coast of Barbados, some of the best restaurants with a wide range of different cuisine such as; Authentic, Indian, Thai, Italian and Bajan as well as night clubs etc…only 5 mins drive and 20 minute walking distance.
