Located in the historic core of Santiago de Compostela (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), this gorgeous stone house has been in the family for generations and has just been carefully renovated, contrasting the restored historical features of the house with all the perks of a new renovation. It's on a lovely pedestrian street just a 2 minute walk from the famous Catedral de Santiago - the final destination of the pilgrimage route of St. James.

The house consists of two self-catering apartments. The spacious apartment (45m2) on the first floor (no elevator but only 15 steps up) provides an all-new fully equipped eat-in kitchen with dining table for 4 people, bathroom including bathtub/shower, and a hallway with an exposed stonewall leading to the spacious living room / bedroom. It has a queen size bed as well as a queen sofa-bed to accommodate 4 people comfortably.

The second apartment consists of 3 bright and spacious floors, with hard-wood floors and exposed stone work throughout. On the 2nd floor you'll find an ample living room, a new eat-in kitchen and a bathroom with a walk-in shower. The house's original stone hearth has been preserved and incorporated into the kitchen, which is fully-equipped with range, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, washing machine, coffee maker, microwave and all the cookware, cutlery, etc needed for preparing home-cooked meals and has a dining table. The living room, featuring original stone alcoves, is furnished with a large sofa that converts into a queen bed for 2 persons, a large dining table which expands to seat 10 persons, and flat-screen HD television. Take the stairs up to the next floor of the house and you will find 2 bedrooms. The master bedroom features cathedral views, a king size bed and an individual sofa bed, while the other bedroom has a queen size bed and a comfortable sofa. Go up one more floor and you will find a sunny loft, with a sofa that doubles as a bed as well as 2 individual beds that can be placed together for couples. Curl up on the divan with a good book, or peep out of the skylight for unparalleled views of the Cathedral and rooftops of Santiago de Compostela!

Situated in the heart of the lively monumental district, just step outside the house and you will be enveloped in the history of the city. Follow the way of St. James to it's final destination: the renowned pilgrimage site of the Catedral de Santiago. Wander the lively stone streets under arcades and through enchanting passageways, through beautiful parks and secluded cloisters, to discover the many wonders of the city. As you go for a stroll you can enjoy typical music of the region offered by musicians on the surrounding streets and plazas. An amazing array of restaurants, cafes, shops, museums, bars, markets are just outside the door so you can easily sample the vibrant life of this city! And if you fancy a day trip, Galicia offers destinations galore: from exploring big cities and charming towns, to trekking through mountain trails and virgin forests, visiting solitary lighthouses atop dramatic sea-side cliffs or soaking in the sun on the coast's unspoilt beaches – you can have it all within a half hour's drive. If you have your own car, a public parking garage is just 2 minutes from the house under the Plaza de Galicia.

Guests will enjoy free wireless internet (wi-fi), and the house has a brand new heating and air conditioning system. Spanish, English, German, Slovene and some French are spoken - and all inquiries are welcome!

We arrived at Santiago very early and were lucky enough to be able to get into the apartment early with no additional cost. Lovely host who speaks English met us at the parking and showed us to the house. Location was absolutely fabulous, so close to the cathedral and bars/restaurants. Every room was comfortable and well equipped and the kitchens looked new and had everything we needed for cooking. Bathrooms were spacious, shower worked well. Lounge was very comfortable and stylish and the free wifi worked really well. Communication with the owners very efficient. Really great value in a lovely house in a fascinating city.

Elegant house in a fantastically central location

This home is as beautiful and classy as it is roomy. We had an amazing time and were able to fit a lot of people. We had a family reunion and the place catered for all the needs starting from spacious, clean rooms and all necessary amenities in the kitchen, ending in great location in the old city center. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to have all the attractions of Santiago at hand. There are plenty of blankets, and an easy-to-use heating system for cold, rainy nights. All around, we had a wonderful stay in this beautiful city!

Excellent location and space in Old City

Terrific spot in the heart of the Old City with less than a 5 minute walk to the Cathedral. The apartment is spacious and comfortable, and local staff was responsive and very helpful.

To confirm the booking, the guest whose credit card was used must provide a copy of his/her identification (passport or national ID card). On arrival, the reserving guest must show the original identification document and the credit card used to make the booking. Failure to provide this information will result in termination of the stay in accordance with the property's cancellation policy. This is our family home, so guests are expected to treat it with respect and leave it in tidy and good condition on departure. Please remember that NO SMOKING is allowed in the house and no parties or large gatherings are permitted. Only guests who form part of the reserved party can stay at the property. For stays longer than 1 week, the host reserves the right upon notice to enter the property for an inspection. Please note that the house does not have an elevator - access to the different floors of the house is via stairs. By booking the apartment, guests acknowledge that failure to observe these simple rules will result in termination of the stay and forfeiture of the rental fee & deposit. Deposit acts as security against any damage that might be caused to the apartment or furnishings during the stay. It will be refunded upon an inspection of the apartment, so long as the apartment is left in the same condition it was found. Check-in is after 3:30pm and check-out is by 10:30am. Disappearing from the house without meeting for the scheduled check-out will result in a 50€ deposit deduction. Check-in/out between the hours of 11pm-8am is subject to a 20€ surcharge. Cleaning service is available upon request during the stay for an extra fee.
