Nice cozy cabin in the woods!!!

Great place!!! Nice location at the end of a point on a lake. Just a few steps away from the water. We stayed in the winter as we were in the area for an ice fishing trip. All we had to do was walk out to the lake to fish. Panfish are a little undersized but did manage some northern with the biggest about 32 inches. Owner was very nice and willing to accommodate dates for our trip too. Great stay!!!

Outdoor northwoods setting you dream about!

  • 4 of 5

If the character of the lake, its sandy bottom, rocky shores, islands, call of the loon, fishing and non-motorized as well as motorized water activities are most important to you on a vacation, this property has it. It's hard to describe the magic of a campfire at the end of a peninsula, surrounded by tall pines and waves lapping the shores. Photo opps galore!

The house has the basic amenities you need, a few quirks we never quite figured out but our focus was on the out of doors, not indoors. When raining, the screen porch was a life saver. About 20-30 minutes from golf, shopping or restaurants. We liked the note left for visitors...'if you find it, use it, play with it or eat it.' We did just that.

nice private, but the house was filthy.. the down stairs bed room, was unsafe, filthy, refrigerator wet frozen food still inside, and wet on the out side. bad beds. All other bed rooms were filthy. Basement smelled like poison, we left early . Deacon (rat poison around whole house) could have poisoned my child and pet. also found rat poison on the top of the microwave!! open!!! dryer did not work. several state codes not observed. Several lamps had shorts in the wiring. the shower in the basement bedroom did not work right. out dated food left in place. THE PRIVATE ROAD WAS A HAZZARD!!! STAIRS TO LAKE WERE FALLING APART AN FULL OF DEBRES, UNSAFE. THIS WAS NOT A PLACE WHERE THE OWNERS CHECKED OR CLEANED IN ALONG TIME. DISCUSTING. WE LEFT EARLY. I WOULD NEVER RENT THIS AGAIN...TWO DAYS AFTER WE GOT HOME A FEW PEOPLE GOT SICK, SOME BACTERIAL INFECTION.. THE OWNERS NEED TO CLEAN THIS PLACE. CHRISTINE B.

Owner's Response: Sorry the reviewer had a bad experience, but I must respond to some items. If the humidity is very high, the dehumidifier can’t keep up. Running the air purifier a few minutes removes any musty smell. The basement refrigerator is an overflow refrigerator. Is rarely even turned on. The door seals are weak and allow some condensation on the edges. The ice cream containers are blocks of ice for use in coolers. The 2 yr old drier worked the weekend before them and the weekend after them. I assume they could figure out how to start it. Cabins in the woods are a mouse magnet. I assume the reviewer would be more upset if there were furry critters running around. The Decon is in sealed, self-contained despisers, except above the micro way. That one is approximately 18 “ above the microwave and behind non-food cans. She didn't mention the numerous patches on the screen with our ongoing battle with squirrels punching holes.

Grandparents, kids, grandkids, and dogs enjoyed kayaks, canoe and swimming. Great trees to hang the hammocks for reading and napping. Got along great without internet service - some had phone access. Screen porch was used all the time for games, meals, and jigsaw puzzles. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets over the lake. Did some house cleaning the first day, but all went smoothly the rest of the week. Once we got settled, no one wanted to leave for shopping or sight seeing. Thanks to Thomas for sharing this beautiful setting and his home with us and for answering his phone right away when we had a question. Highly recommend this peaceful property surrounded by water.

Can't wait to return!

After years at Blue Harbor with four grandkids we tried something new. When preteen and teenagers say this place has more to do, that's an endorsement! And the generous owners offer everything you could think of and 200% more. Beautiful location and tons of space for our party of nine. Great!!!

Beautiful piece of real estate

  • 5 of 5

What a wonder setting. Private location with a firepit on our very own peninsula jutting out into the lake with water on three sides and a full moon rising over the lake. We took numerous pictures of that setting. After a rocky start--found a refrigerator full of food and a little messy, we settled in and totally enjoyed the place. The place had a spot for everyone to kick back and relax. We fully utilized the two separate living areas in the house, lounged on the large pontoon boat and lived on the screen porch. During our stay we had the entire mile long peninsula to ourselves--talk about being quiet and restful!!
