Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday farmhouse in Stockbridge

Farmhouse, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Come and enjoy the experience of a charming yet funky remodeled 1800's farmhouse. Listen to the brook and enjoy a glass of wine in front of the wood stove with your loved ones! Gaze at the stars from the bedroom window. Remember that life is meant to be savored!

Our home has 2 bedrooms and a sleeping nook. Each bedroom has a queen sized bed. One bedroom is a loft over the main sitting area and the other is a suite with it's own bathroom and jacuzzi tub. The sleeping nook has a full size bed and there is a twin daybed on the adjacent landing. There is a mudroom to put your boots and coats, a patio overlooking the lawn and a washer dryer. The second bathroom is adjacent to the kitchen with a claw footed tub and shower.

The kitchen comes fully equipped with a microwave, dishwasher, cast iron pans and cooking utensils. We love to cook so you should find what you need to make a great meal! Other amenities include a washer and dryer and grill.

The house is in a quiet location off route 107 adjacent to Stony Brook and is just 20 minutes to Killington/Pico. Just down our road is the VAST trail network and the Appalachian trail. Our road is perfect for mountain biking, snowmobiling, ATV's and walking...there is something for everyone!

The surrounding area also offers hiking, skiing, snowmobiling, biking, horseback riding, and fishing. You can swim and tube in the White River and there are two golf courses within 15 minutes.

We hope you come and enjoy our idyllic haven and make it yours for a week or weekend!

**Please note that there is a $100 cleaning fee that we require be left for our cleaner upon departure.**

Why Suzanne Elkind chose Killington Area

We fell in love with the house!

What makes this farmhouse unique

Walking into our house is like sinking into a warm bath. I love to get away from the city to experience the quiet and contemplative nature of the house and surrounding area.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I wanted to thank you again for your hospitality in letting us ENJOY your lovely home for the weekend! The place is very quaint and quiet and sits right on the river which was perfect! The conditions at Killington were amazing, we even went back Sunday after we straightened up the place! It was like a home away from home and we couldn't have asked for more! We are absolutely in love with the area as well.

Perfectly and classically Vermont getaway!

  • 5 of 5

The Stockbridge Home is not only a gorgeous, wonderfully equipped accommodation ... it is in a beautiful part of Vermont - easily accessible from the highway and just ten minutes away from cute restaurants/towns, but tucked away on a small, winding road and surrounded by nature. Everything about our stay was perfect. My only regret is that the visit was too short. We already are talking about a college roommate reunion ... just so we can get another opportunity to indulge in this lovely spot. Suzanne made the logistics easy and seamless. Next time, we'll take better advantage of the accoutrements she offers! (I'm still sorry I didn't get to enjoy some fresh eggs and veggies.)

Quiet, tasteful, and comfortable

  • 4 of 5

The house was what we expected and wanted: comfortable, tasteful, with a well stocked kitchen and a washer and dryer. A bonus was the outside patio and the river, which even though it was across the road, could be heard. Go to the co-op/market in South Royalton for groceries and Cockadoodle in Bethel for pizza.

Summer in Stockbridge, Vermont

  • 4 of 5

Our stay in Stockbridge went well. The house is nice, but a little quirky. It has plenty of space for entertaining. There are numerous places to sleep. The quirkiness lies in the 2 spiral staircases to 2 of the bedrooms, one of which has regular stairs also. There is not much privacy and the headroom is low in spots. The location was good for us, and the house was clean Overall, a good vacation house.

Peaceful getaway

  • 5 of 5

Perfect place to relax and get away from the daily grind. Our family loved the house and location. Would also love to experience this home in warm weather, and perhaps stay for longer than a weekend . Aside from R&R, we enjoyed a day hike on the Green Mountain Trails in Pittsfield, VT (will bring mtbs next time), and a day of holiday shopping in Woodstock. As far as the house - it is a cool blend of classic and quirky- we loved it!

Very nice

  • 5 of 5

We were in Stockbridge visiting family for Thanksgiving, and couldn't have asked for a more clean, welcoming house to stay in. We were at total ease with the comfortable surroundings. Sitting in front of the wood burning stove was amazing. Thank you!
