Most of all, the house is extremely cozy!
I grew up in France with a French Dad and American Mom. My grandparents founded the Barrows House Inn in Dorset Vermont and I came to the US to attend Marlboro College. I then did an internship at Bennington College and subsequently worked with the Language dept, teaching languages and cultures to children in surrounding schools. I later worked at Long Trail School in Dorset and have now worked for Flood Brook School, near Bromley Mnt, for ten years. I teach French to kids from K to 8th Grade, including my son and daughter! I go home to Paris with my kids every year.

I love the location of our house. We are in the country, but not isolated. It is truly ideal.
Location, taste of France, Morocco and vintage Vermont!
I'm a huge fan of reading reviews for a vacation stay or purchasing an item and I believe honesty is very important...so here goes. I was looking for a place close to the Vermont Summer Festival because my daughter was showing and having to be there very early in the morning to work we didn't want a long drive. This place was great. When we arrived my daughter went through the whole house and yelled to me "great job finding this place Mom, it's awesome!!" It was exactly 2 minutes to the show and on a beautiful quiet street. The house was clean, neat, well equiped with all the necessities and very roomy. The kitchen, dining room, living room and full bathroom were on the first floor and 2 bedrooms with another full bath were upstairs. The master bedroom was huge. It had a futon couch that you could use for sleeping and plenty of room to put an air mattress if needed. The other bedroom was small but plenty big enough for my two girls (ages 15 & 18). The beds were comfy as well as the furniture in the living room. There were air conditioners in the two bedrooms and the living room but the downstairs was so cool that we hardly used it. The air in the second bedroom didn't work that great but it was good enough. We ate outside on the patio a few times and it was peaceful and restful. My daughter loved the jacuzzi tub in the upstairs bath and after a long day of showing was able to relax in the tub. That was a huge plus for her. The ceilings in the upstairs bath were a little low but only in the walk way in. Once you got in the bath area they were fine. Jen was great. Communicated with me in a timely fashion prior to booking, checked in with me when we arrived to make sure all was okay and emailed me to let me know the lawn was going to be mowed one day. She was available if there were any problems, but we didn't have any. Friends of mine stayed in a place closer to Manchester (we were only about 10-12 minutes to town), paid a lot more and her place was a dump. She asked for the information on my place so maybe she could rent it next year. If we return to the VSF next year, I will certainly be staying here. Thanks Jen for sharing your beautiful home with us. We had a great time!!
The national forest is our back yard :)
