Couldn't have asked for more!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 7 stayed at the Nelson's lake house the first week and a half of June. The pictures are accurate although the view of the lake and their gardens are more beautiful in person.

The house was clean, comfortable and was well stocked to get you started. The decor, paint and linens were lively. The coral paint in the bathroom was my favorite. Very cheery. We had a small problem with ants, which Ross addressed immediately, but when you are in nature, you're bound to get a few visitors. Including the river otter who has made his home right across the lake from the Nelsons.

Mary, Ross and Andy were very nice, and respectful of our space and privacy. They did check in on us to ensure we had everything we needed and to share about their families history in the town and local hot spots.

We visited quite a few shops, everyone we had the pleasure of interacting with were incredibly welcoming and kind. You certainly get the small town charm and friendliness that most larger cities lack. It was a welcomed change!

If you stay here, the water toys provided hours and days of entertainment, clean and in great condition. The lake is quiet, calm waters and good for pan fishing. The indoor toys kept my little one busy on the rainy day, and we took advantage of badminton and the fire pit. The 'Cheese Shop' is a must to visit, cute knick knacks and tasty cheeses, spreads and homemade bread.

We were happy to be coming home, but will certainly miss this wonderful getaway. Thank you Mary, Ross and Andy for the hospitality! Should we make our way to Wisconsin again (we're in Texas), we will be staying here hands down.

Owner's Response: It was such a pleasure starting our summer off with such wonderful guests. It is also our joy when the guests enjoy the whole property: house, lakefront, yard, and gardens. We welcome you back absolutely anytime again. I am sure it was a long trip so I thank you for choosing to spend your time at our property. Please tell your father "thanks" for the great knots he tied for us in the boat. So appreciated. Also thanks for breaking in our new splash pad and letting me be excited about our new toy for the water! You enriched our lives, The Nelsons

Perfect place for a family getaway.

The home is beautiful and big enough to accommodate a large family. The property offers anything you would want when being on a lake vacation. And to top it off the owners are so nice. We will definitely plan to come back!

Was a god stay.

  • 5 of 5

I took my daughter and son 8 and 9 year old to get away from everyday routine life, to rest and spend some time together . Property was great, kids friendly, large front yard for any games and playing. Home itself is super clean, fully equipped kitchen, unbelievably comfortable beds. I think I slept better than I sleep at home. Owner Ross & Mary were very nice, friendly and accommodative people. Thank you for great time.

Thanks for the memories!

A suburb place for any family. We loved all the water toys, sand box toys and inside play toys for the kids. The home was immaculate, well equipped, easy to follow guidelines, and very, very comfortable. Beautiful scenery, large outdoor deck and super gas grill. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fun, enjoyable, safe, and relaxing place to get away!!!

Not even that one day of rain hindered our remarkable annual family vacation.

Escape from Reality!!

  • 5 of 5

Well, this was our second time staying at this delightful summer home! We enjoyed it so much last year we had to come back...and have already scheduled for next year! We have stayed in a lot of places, but none keeps us coming back like this one! If you are in need of a peaceful and relaxing getaway, then this is the place for you! Mary and Ross are absolutely the best when it comes to trying to accommodate guests! When you walk in the front door....no....when you first drive up....everything is so inviting! A walk through the front door leaves you looking at a home that is remarkably decorated, immaculately clean, and so inviting! And there is nothing lacking for a playful time.....from the canoe, the kayaks, the paddle board and the wonderful dock and raft to the fire pit at night! We have found our niche in this relaxing, secluded, and quiet home! So many things remain in our thoughts, but one is looking at the lake after dinner when it was a clear as glass and you could see the reflection of the trees in the water....just like a mirror! This is our time to reconnect with family and Mary, Ross and their beautiful home have certainly made that possible.....and for that we thank you!

See you next year!!!
