If you are seeking the true feeling of authentic mountain living, combined with modern amenities, then Mystic Valley Cabin is for you. It is privately nestled on fifteen country acres complete with 180 degrees of breathtaking, picturesque open valley views. Our tailor-made log home, with its genuine rustic detail, was built by my father and a few of his closest friends, each a jack of their own trade. The White Pine logs were individually picked, sawed and hand notched. All of the cabinets and exterior doors were handcrafted out of Walnut. Rocks for the foundation and fireplaces, which serve the living room and master bedroom, were gathered from the surrounding mountains. In addition, the hardwood floors were pulled from the gymnasium of the high school in which the owner had attended some 18 years prior.

Located just 30 minutes from Downtown Asheville, Mystic Valley Cabin offers the ideal combination of total seclusion and convenience. Mystic Valley is a perfect retreat for any season. It's a great place for the entire family or a quiet, romantic weekend getaway for couples. So if you want a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, or want to experience peacefulness and relaxation you will unlikely find anywhere else, look no further. You will never forget taking that first deep, relaxing breath while overlooking the stunning, 180 degree view of authentic farmland and Appalachian Mountains!

About Owner/ Manager

My father and I absolutely love our Mystic Valley and everything the country, as well as the city of Asheville, has to offer. And we want to share our amazing place with you!

My father was born here and has refused to leave this amazing area. However, I decided to explore other locations including New York City, Wilmington and Charlotte. After living elsewhere for 13 years, I decided it was time to head back home!

Dad is now retired and I work as a behaviorist with shelter dogs.

Why Owner/ Manager chose Leicester

Mystic Valley offers the ideal combination of total seclusion and convenient access. Located in the beautiful historic community of Big Sandy Mush where the land has been farmed by the same families for generations, our ancestors included. In addition, the cabin is just a 30 minute jaunt to the lively downtown scene. A very short distance to travel to experience the boundless diversity of Asheville.

What makes this cabin unique

Guest Satisfaction Is Our #1 Priority! You can rest assured we are available 24/7 if any problems should arise or just to answer your questions.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We enjoyed our stay at Mystic Valley. The home was clean, cozy and rustic. Sitting on the porch was our favorite spot to enjoy God’s glory! Our time together brought us closer as a family!

Beautiful, well appointed cabin / spectacular view

  • 5 of 5

Great experience booking and communicating with Cat and Joey with regard to our stay in their lovely cabin and perfect location. We booked for two couples (ourselves and visiting Canadian friends) as we were coming for a workshop in Asheville. The place was easy to find, and a picturesque quick 30 minutes drive from the Grove Park Inn where our conference was taking place. Great views and quiet location, in nature. The cabin was exactly per the AirBnB description. We certainly enjoyed meeting with Joey who took us to the cabin and showed us around to ensure all our needs were met. It was a treat to hear a bit about the history of the cabin, too. Among all of the amenities, we enjoyed the indoor fireplace and the outdoor fire pit. I highly recommend the place to anyone looking for a clean, well appointed, cozy cabin in nature, with all the comfort of home while still being close to Asheville, if that is your intended destination … Or, simply to enjoy a vacation in nature in quaint Leicester, NC. We will certainly book this listing with Joey, again when the time comes to return to Asheville. Great hosts; Thank you!

Majestically Peaceful Setting

  • 5 of 5

We were instantly able to unwind the minute we stepped onto the expansive front porch. We settled into comfortable chairs and watched country life unfold before us. The beds were comfortable and the main area/ den was as well. All being very clean and well supplied. We enjoyed grilling and the kitchen was an ease to work in. We could never resist sitting on the porch watching the changes of shades in the mountains, expansive skies and where the cows were grazing. We were close to many of the surrounding towns for day trips and farmers markets. The owner Joey couldn't have been more of a pleasure to meet and always there with information, directions and advice. Just a call away.

Cozy and charming

  • 5 of 5

The views are spectacular. The cabin is spacious and very comfortable. The fireplace is lovely with plenty of firewood provided. The kitchen is well-equipped. The owners' attention to detail and easygoing nature shines throughout this home. It was great being able to let our dog and the kids just run around outside without having to worry about them. Our family had a very nice time just relaxing in this beautifully secluded, pastoral setting. It's within an hour or two drive of awesome scenic hiking trails in the mountains.
