Many of our guests decide not to rent a car!
Stay Alfred’s offerings are ideal for families and corporate travelers alike. No more staying on separate floors and no more sets of side-by-side beds. Our guests enjoy three times the square footage of an average hotel room. They enjoy having separate bedrooms and a real living room. They save money by cooking some of their meals in their complete kitchen. They have a washer/dryer, in case they need it. They get 5-star customer service from our team of dedicated hospitality experts.
And the best part is, our guests know they’re getting all of those things every time, no matter where they stay with us. Your stay with us in Portland will look the same as your next stay in Seattle. Your booking, check-in, check-out will be the same in Denver as it was in Nashville, so you don’t have to wonder. Consistency is our key ingredient.
By now we have stayed in several (and prefer) VRBO-type rentals as we prefer a local feel to our getaways. This was our first time booking through Stay Alfred and I doubt we will go through them again. Although the Stay Alfred representatives were always nice and courteous on the phone, there were subtle inconsistencies from rep to rep with each call that left me wishing I was working directly with a homeowner rather than a company that owns these flats. First, when you click on one of their properties you are directed to their page and cannot directly book through VRBO which made me nervous. Second, we booked early and based our booking primarily on location and the inclusion of parking. When I called back later to add the car, I was told "sorry, that's not an option anymore." Third, upon arrival to the location we had to call into a silver box beside the door and wait. We had to call 3 times before someone would pick up and let us in, which made me and my party even more worried that we had been scammed.
Once inside and in our room, we see what others have mentioned in that you are on the ground floor of a large building located bedside other buildings and windows and natural light are scarce. If you have some claustrophobia this may not be the place for you as this was an issue brought up by one member of our party pretty regularly during our stay. There was trash still left in the kitchen can from the previous guest and and some dust bunnies in the corners but was otherwise pretty clean. We were a party of 4 and were provided with 1 bath cloth and 1 bath towel per guest for a 4-night stay. Some extras would have been appreciated.
Now for the good stuff - the location of this properly was spot on. You can walk or Uber to just about anywhere you want to go for a first-time sightseeing trip to Nashville. The brick walls, wood, and high ceilings were nice and the sofa and beds were comfortable There is more than enough space for a part of 4 to feel comfortable and at home. The kitchen was spacious although not very well stocked with supplies but we ate out most of our time there so it was not a big deal. The bedrooms both have their own bathroom which was another biggie for why we chose this location. You may want to space out showers as the hot water did not last when 4 showers were taken back-to-back.
In summary, we loved the place and would stay there again if we could work with a homeowner rather than a rental company.
The lobby and front entrance were not a good first impression for cleanliness and upkeep. The windows, blinds and woodwork need a.good cleaning....
But we loved the location, easy access to parking, affordable and many needs met for our stay. Thanks for having us!
Just like described and there is a parking lot for $15 a day right across the street. You will love this. Book it.
This unit was not that pictured in the advertisement and as such the furniture was more sparse and a bit more difficult for four people. When I asked why the bait and switch in an email I did not receive an answer.
The location of this apartment is EXCELLENT! Security is also fantastic. The apartment has everything that you will need but it's beginning to show some wear and tear.
Housekeeping was my biggest issue that would have made me rate this place a two and a half star or possibly less. When we arrived late, 10 p.m., we were exhausted and headed straight to bed to find that the bed was without sheets. So we had to find sheets and remake the bed. No big deal, mistakes happen, right? Then we climb in the bed to find that the pillows were unclean and smelled of "sweaty head". I complained via email and did receive a response and offered to send housekeeping. At this point I'm not interested in housekeeping with these standards further invading my vacation, after all we've already paid $50 to clean this unit. The next morning walking back and forth to the toilet during the night we find that our feet are black with soot. Granted this apartment is right on the street and subject to more street debris but all the more reason for excellent housekeeping and mopping after each guest.
I still give this unit 4 stars because of the location and the potential that it holds. After all, housekeeping is something they can choose to improve upon. Dirty pillows however makes it hard for me to be forgiving.
This property is in a great location, just 1.5 blocks from Broadway and close to a bunch of excellent off strip restaurants. However, it would have been 5 stars if the property was slightly cleaner (check under the beds - ugh), provided parking - over $30.00 extra per night nearby - and the second TV was actually something you could see. A screen size smaller than most computers isn't a second TV when you have to sit on the edge of the bed, 2' away to able to see whats on.
Otherwise, this is a good size apartment in a great location. You can walk to everything downtown from here.
Everything is how you see in the pictures. Very well located. The only inconvenient is they don't have parking available. But there's one right beside of the building with a flat rate.
