There’s always a place at the pool that’s just right, whether the kids are looking to play on the water slide or you prefer a peaceful lounge chair looking out to the ocean. The four pool areas offer a distinctly different experience and we’ve never had trouble finding a lounge chair.
The lanai doors fold away to create a seamless indoor/outdoor space between the living room and spacious lanai that truly allows you to appreciate Maui breezes and Hawaiian living.
Very upscale and friendly
We had such a wonderful stay at 346 Konea! The resort was beautiful and very well kept. Great pools and grounds and right on the beach! This resort lies near the end of Kan'napali beach so there is a about a 2 miles stretch of beautiful beach to walk along or swim in. We drove around the other resorts in the area and this is absolutely the best one. It is a very short drive into Lahina, which is such a fun beach town with so much to do, great shopping, excursions and great food.
346 Konea is a gorgeous 1 bedroom condo, which was very clean and roomy. The ocean view is on a slight angle, but just beautiful. The bedroom has a very nice, comfortable king-sized bed and the bathroom is large and clean. The floor plan is great and the condo has everything you need to enjoy your stay on the beach or relaxing on the balcony. The glass doors to the balcony fold away (or into) so you can make the balcony an extension of the living area.
We arrived a little late and then had to pick up some groceries at Costco. Annalise was so wonderful to work with and very accomodating. The entire staff was wonderful.
Thanks Bob for the stay in your wonderful vacation home, we had an amazing trip!
We absolutely loved the facilities at this location. The vibe throughout the resort was relaxing and family friendly. The kids loved the pools, Dukes restaurant and all the walking paths.
A brief trip north and we were lost on the many hiking trails that kept the whole family busy and entertained.
The condo at Honua Kai was perfect for our family of 4. It was spacious than others we've stayed at with a really large bathroom. It was well stocked with everything we needed. Love the nanny doors to the balcony that you can completely open. Enjoyed the partial ocean view. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. The pool was great - especially for the kids. Duke's on site restaurant was wonderful and it was nice having a little convenience store on site.
This was my wife's and my third stay at the Honua Kai, a luxury condominium building complex on North Kaanapali Beach. The complex has beautiful grounds and pools, luxurious condo units and public spaces, and Duke's, a good resturant, on the grounds. We like the location of the Honua Kai because the area is less crowded than on the main Kaanapali beach where most of the resort hotels are located. The downside is that the beach is fairly narrow and is not viewable from ground level because of dunes. If a wide, viewable beach is a priority for you, the main Kaanapali Beach would be better.
Unit 346 Konea was a one bedroom unit on the third floor on the north side of the north tower of the Konea building. The view north was across an open green area and circle drive that was a public park located between our buiding and another condo complex. We could see the water to the west only when viewed from our deck through some palm trees. The unit was solidly built, luxuriously designed and finished, nicely decorated and furnished. The appliances were of high quality. The unit was clean and adequately stocked with towels, disposables, etc. Unfortunately, the washing machine was broken so "Invited Home" gave us a $50 discount off our rental fee and offered to do our laundry for us in the common laundromat in the building. We had some friends also staying in our building so we used their washing machine instead, otherwise we might have taken "Invited Home" up on their offer to do our laundry. The size of the unit was fairly large, but as one might expect, the living room/kitchen areas were not as large as the two bedroom units in which we had stayed during our previous visits.
One point people should know if they are considering the Honua Kai is that Westin is constructing a huge vacation club complex immediately south of the Honua Kai complex. The construction noise is disruptive on the south side of the south building of the Honua Kai so that should be considered when booking a unit at the Honua Kai until construction is completed during the summer 2017. Also, once the Westin is completed, I suspect the beach/boardwalk area will be much more crowded than in the past.
Overall, we continue to love the Honua Kai. When we return to the area, we will almost certainly stay at the Honua Kai again.
This condo was all that we'd hope it be when we booked our two week vacation. It is very welcoming and cozy and the wall of windows to the lanai was perfect for enjoying the evening breezes. The location was great for us there are many restaurants and a great shopping area quite close as well as several beaches for swimming, snorkeling or watching the sunset. Much is in walking distance for the more adventurous. The pools on the grounds were quite enjoyable and the grounds are immaculate and gorgeous. It is any easy drive to all of the places we wanted to see on Maui. Many evenings we enjoyed sitting on the lanai watching the sunset and each morning we enjoyed our coffee on the lanai taking in the ocean views. I would definitely rent this condo again and would recommend it to anyone! Don't hesitate it goes fast. Mahalo
