About Becky

Kevin and I have lived in the beautiful, Boothbay Region since 1993. We love it's quaint New England fishing village appeal as well as it's close knit community that welcomes thousands of visitors every summer. We are currently the caretakers of our parent's retirement home. Mom and Dad are currently living in Virginia Beach. When the time is right they will move here to be closer to family. We live in the bigger home in the front, mom and dad's house is behind us over the garage.

Becky purchased this apartment in 2010

Why Becky chose Boothbay Harbor Area

We love our quiet little neighborhood just yards from the coast. We can't see the water from our home, but a short walk or drive brings us all the beauty of coastal living. The height of this home will allow you to have a bird's eye view of the the tree tops. Watch birds and squirrels scamper about on the branches of our many oaks and maples.

What makes this apartment unique

The home is located on a dead-end ocean inlet. The ocean is a short distance away a 7 or 8 minute walk.

Downtown Boothbay Harbor is less than 5 miles away.

An Irving station and the big grocery store is located less than 3 miles.

Traffic is minimal. Within 2 miles there is a beautiful town playground.

Owl hoots, crickets and croaking frogs disturb the quiet of evenings and nights in our surrounding forest.

Friendly, well-appointed Maine getaway

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely stay in the Boothbay area and were, for the most part, happy with our first vrbo experience. Becky is a gracious and attentive hostess, as well as very informative about the area, and the apartment is clean, bright, well-appointed, furnished and supplied. The property is close to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens which was one of our vacation goals, and a wonderful experience including a delicious lunch in the cafe. The main entry to the apartment is a quite long and steep staircase which was a somewhat daunting experience when transporting heavy bags over several trips. We ended up using the family’s entrance which was only five steps, because one of us had an accident and ended up on crutches and simply could not manage the long staircase. We were fortunate to have had the option. Also, because the apartment is above a garage the noise of the opening and closing of the garage doors early in the morning when the family is leaving for work, etc. prevented us from sleeping in on our vacation. This would not be a problem obviously for early risers.

Owner's Response: Dorothy We glad to hear you enjoyed your VRBO experience for the most part. We sincerely regret that the noice of the garage doors was loud enough to wake you from your sleep during vacation. We will work to resolve this issue. Our jobs to require us to depart in the morning before 8am most days, but perhaps the doors need some maintenance we weren't aware of and are making more noise than they should in the apartment above. We try very hard to come an go from there as quietly as possible in the morning. The shorter staircase is always an option whether our guests are injured or not. Carrying your bags in and out is much less work from the front of the residence. We welcome you to park in either driveway. Thanks for your review! We hope you will get to spend more time in Maine. in the future.

Great apartment right out of Boothbay run by a nice local family. Clean, well furnished, pretty much all that you could need and easy to access BB harbor, village and access to coastal towns. Would definately recommend it to others. Thanks for a nice quiet stay.

Spacious, Quiet, and Cozy Boothbay Home Away From Home!

  • 5 of 5

Becky's apartment was perfect for our stay in Boothbay! We spent two nights and were very pleased with the spacious, comfortable accommodations. Although the above-garage unit is situated just adjacent to the main house, it is very private. The location is great - only 10 minutes or so (driving) from the shops and restaurants in Boothbay, but in a more quiet, secluded area, which we really enjoyed. Highly recommended! I would certainly stay here again if I were to return to the area! Thanks for everything, Becky!

Great space for a family!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great experience at this well built oasis. The place was well appointed. Kitchen had everything we needed. We did not need anything. We loved the screened in porch. Spent most of our time out there. The yard is an amazing place for star gazing at night. The only downside to the experience was the beds. In particular the twin sized bed was extremely firm and not comfortable. Thank you to Becky and Kevin for accommodating our needs. We would definitely stay there again.

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying with us. We regret that you found the twin bed uncomfortable. A foam mattress cover is available in the closet for either the couch bed or twin bed so that our guests can adjust the bed for their comfort. We love to star gaze from our deck and yard as well. Please consider staying with us again if you visit Maine again. Regards, Becky and Kevin

Peaceful Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

I was very impressed with this property. It is clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Very quiet and peaceful...nestled in the woods and off the beaten path. I loved the screened in porch. It was really close to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens (within a 5 minute drive), which is now one of my favorite places in the world. The property is within a 10 minute drive to Booth Bay Harbor which is a fun little village with many good restaurants and a great grocery store (Hannaford's). I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The Boothbay Region has been a destination for travelers for over a century. The unique character of our rocky seacoast makes it a pleasure to enjoy from both land and sea. The Boothbay Region is found at the end of a peninsula in the Midcoast area of Maine. It is a picturesque area with rich maritime heritage. The region boasts several festivals which celebrate this heritage. The architecture of the region reflects the charm of a New England fishing village with white, clapboard homes, specialty shops, galleries, boat yards and marinas. You won't want to miss our beautiful Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, amazing whale watches and harbor tours. If you love to golf you need to play a round or two on our state of the art greens at Boothbay Harbor Country Club.
