About the property

3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, Sleeps 6

This three bedroom, three full bath, two story log home has hardwood floors throughout, a fully appointed kitchen, a large dining room table, washer and dryer, and a large deck to enjoy the view of the valley (1,200 feet) below. Sitting on top of Lookout Mountain looking off to the north west.

Watching a storm roll in or watching the sunsets can be spectacular! This house will feel like home when you arrive. From the hunter’s details to the vaulted ceilings, the beautiful stone fireplace, leather couches, love seat and chair that you will sink into and never want to leave, comfort is the word. Plan to unplug here as internet is not available.

On the second floor is a loft area with yet another, very comfortable, leather lazy boy couch and a loft library. Put your feet up and enjoy a good book, or just relax. The huge screened in porch, complete with ceiling fans, allows you to watch the sunrise with your coffee or relax in the shade in the afternoon.

Bedrooms one and two each have two twin beds and each have their own full bath and are located on the main level. The master suite is also on the second level and has a king sized bed and its own full bath and the full sized washer and dryer.

The Chattanooga, TN-GA Metropolitan Area, is an area consisting of six counties – three in southeast Tennessee (Hamilton, Marion, and Sequatchie) and three in northwest Georgia (Catoosa, Dade, and Walker) – anchored by the city of Chattanooga.

Reviewer Comments:

Loved the deck overlooking the mountain and the screened in porch. Very peaceful and relaxing location. Got mixed reactions from kids with the animal skins throughout cabin but my husband who is hunter seemed to appreciate them. Would love to visit again. Our stay would be more comfortable if upstairs mattress could be replaced. It's too soft and lumpy. Also upstairs shower head needs to be replaced. I could not get the head to stay straight so I ended up taking showers downstairs. Also the tv's in the two downstairs bedrooms would not turn on at all. May be due to operator error. If so, some directions placed by each tv on how to turn on and access satellite would be great. We finally figured out how to work tv/satellite in living room after doing a google search on smartphone. Cabin is near enough to places like Ruby Falls, Rock City, etc if you don't mind going up and down the mountain to visit. We went somewhere every day and was within 30 minutes of many attractions in Chattanooga but our nights were spent away from the hub bub with spectacular views.

What an amazing view! Some friends and I stayed the weekend, we were blown away by the views from the bluff, the sunset was spectacular. The Hunters Lodge is really neat and very accommodating - very nice beds, pillows, and linens; very comfortable. Kitchen is well equipped, the screened in porch is a bonus, charcoal grill on the deck; plenty of space and bathrooms for a group. Easy to find, the management was quick to respond and all the details are thoroughly provided. Will stay here again.

Reviewer Comments:

We stayed in this beautiful 3 bed/3 bath cabin at the top of Lookout Mountain, Rising Fawn, Georgia. It fit our family's needs perfect. We were there for our son's graduation from SLTC and also had my parents stay with us. It was homey and very accommodating, all the amenities were already there we just had to bring the food! While others were staying in hotels in separate rooms, our family was able to all be together visiting with each other enjoying the gorgeous mountain/valley views from our lovely cabin/deck. Cannot say enough how pleasant it was to stay there!! Thank you for providing such a beautiful cabin to use to make our already exciting trip even more special. Definitely recommend! :)

Reviewer Comments:

Obviously the big selling point of this cabin was the beautiful view of pastoral countryside in the valley below -- and it did not disappoint. Granted, the outdoor furniture could stand to be more comfortable. Would suggest some Adirondack chairs or something. Inside, the place was pretty much exactly as pictured. Very cozy, comfortable living room area for reading or watching TV. Although the TV controls are a bit delicate and no instructions were provided. When we got there my son tried to change the channel and we could not get the cable back on. We called management though and someone came right over to fix it! Great service. Kitchen-wise, it's serviceable for basic meals, but don't expect to find any condiments other than salt and pepper (no oil, vinegar, spices, etc.). There is a garbage disposal. Bedrooms are okay. Two rooms on main level perfect for kids, which was our use. The upstairs "master" bed however was rather uncomfortable. Just a cheap and/or worn out mattress it seemed like. My wife complained about the towels, but they seemed fine to me. Everything was very clean and neat, no problems there. The place is dog friendly -- we brought our two -- the hitch being that there's not much room to walk them. The immediate property is fine for potty breaks, but not exercise. The gravel driveway is about a hundred yards long. The main roadhas no shoulder whatsoever and drops off sharply on either side, leaving no room to walk. However there are some trailheads about a mile away -- ask the management for directions. So overall we had a very nice stay for 4 days, which was enough for us -- the bed being the main issue on our aging backs.

Owner's Response: We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. And we would agree the state highway (off which the property is located) is not a great place to walk animals. The nearby trails are the best! Because of so many issues with food allergy liability, we do not provide any type condiments for the kitchen (though it is well stocked for all types of cooking). We are sorry you were not happy with the upstairs king bed; this is the first complaint we have had in the three years we have operated this rental. We will certainly investigate this further! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and appreciate our diligence in attending to guests ASAP when needed. We are actually working on an app for guests (that they can download on their smart phones) which will have TV operations for each house, and many other items guests may find helpful. Hopefully we will roll this out before the end of 2017. Thanks again for staying with Cabins Of Chattanooga. Please come back again.
