We are Jim and Jane Campbell and we have two grown sons. The cabin is located on our farm which is a working farm with Angus cattle. We enjoy being hospitable and will make your stay as relaxing as possible.
Jim and Jane Campbell purchased this cabin in 2011
We decided to build a log cabin on our property because our view is so wonderful and we wanted to be able to share it.
We are 1/2 mile off Rt. 460 and close to many restuarants, places to shop, the Peaks of Otter, and Smith Mountain Lake. We have a pond very close to the cabin and there are many places to hike and bike.
We love it here on the farm, because the views off the front porch and the many wildlife you see, put us in awe of our Lord Jesus Christ the creator of it all!
I had a wonderful time at the cabin! The set up is great with everything in an open space. The kitchen is very clean and has new appliances. The bed was comfortable which faced the television and fake fireplace (that did give off heat) so you can watch movies in bed. Even the chairs infront of the television reclined, which was a nice surprise. The hot tub was wonderful, especially during the winter time! They had robes, towels and other amenities set for us. We really felt comfortable and relaxed in this beautiful cabin! Would definitely go back again! Highly recommend this place!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away from "the world" at Jim and Jane's Lazy Creek Cabin! The cabin is so beautiful and so clean! My husband enjoyed his time fishing and I loved the relaxation! Just what the doctor ordered! We will definitely go back!
Quality, comfort, private, and perfect are just a few of the words that I can think of to describe Jim and Jane's Lazy Creek Cabin. The kitchen is very well equipped, the bathroom is spacious and the bed is extremely comfortable! The location between Lynchburg and Roanoke was perfect for us to visit the Blue Ridge Parkway, Natural Bridge, and McAfee Knob on the Appalachian Trail. After a hard day of hiking it was great to come home to the cabin for shower and then a long soak in the hot tub....just awesome! A note about the quality of the cabin itself....Jim and Jane spared no expense in the construction, the furnishings, and the appliances (including the dishwasher). To top it all off, it was tastefully decorated with a very safe and homey country feel. We have already referred our friends to the Lazy Creek Cabin if they come to VA and we hope to visit again. Thanks Jim and Jane!
This was our second time at Lazy Creek, and it was even better than we remembered! We went last year at the same time for our first Anniversary, and were happy to stay there again this year! It was a perfect way to get in some rest and relaxation. Jim and Jane take wonderful care of the cabin, and do a fantastic job at making it feel like home. The full kitchen was great for making breakfast in the morning, and we loved eating breakfast on the front porch. We took a trip to Peaks of Otter Winery for a wine tasting, and that was very easy to get to from the cabin. We did not use the fire pit this year, though we did last year, and loved it! The hot tub was a perfect way to wind down and stay warm on the chilly fall evenings.
We are very thankful that Lazy Creek is so close to our home, and look forward to coming back many times in the future!
We had a wonderful time staying in this darling cabin! Everything was so nice and clean! The deer greeted us every morning and we saw several turkeys as well. The hot tub was a perfect way to end our day after exploring the area. We loved everything about the cabin and our trip! We can't wait to come back! Thank you again!!!

My wife and I stayed here in 2013 and have always talked about wanting to come back. Well it was my wife's 30th birthday and I surprised her with the news that we would be going back and man did I win husband of the year. She was overcome with joy to be returning to one of our favorite places. We spent the mornings with a cup of coffee, rocking away on the beautiful wooden rocking chairs on the front porch. We stayed for 2 days and toured the surrounding areas, did a hike up to Mcafee's Knob (highly recommended). We cant thank Jim and Jane enough for the hospitality and how easy they are to deal with. We look forward to another visit soon.
We are 25 minutes from Roanoke and 45 minutes from Lynchburg. Smith Mountain Lake is about 25 minutes from us and there is boating, fishing and you can take a ride on the Virginia Dare.
We are close (35 minutes) from the James River and you can go canoeing and kayaking there.
