We are Jim and Jane Campbell and we have two grown sons. The cabin is located on our farm which is a working farm with Angus cattle. We enjoy being hospitable and will make your stay as relaxing as possible.
Jim and Jane Campbell purchased this cabin in 2011
We decided to build a log cabin on our property because our view is so wonderful and we wanted to be able to share it.
We are 1/2 mile off Rt. 460 and close to many restuarants, places to shop, the Peaks of Otter, and Smith Mountain Lake. We have a pond very close to the cabin and there are many places to hike and bike.
We love it here on the farm, because the views off the front porch and the many wildlife you see, put us in awe of our Lord Jesus Christ the creator of it all!
I had a wonderful time at the cabin! The set up is great with everything in an open space. The kitchen is very clean and has new appliances. The bed was comfortable which faced the television and fake fireplace (that did give off heat) so you can watch movies in bed. Even the chairs infront of the television reclined, which was a nice surprise. The hot tub was wonderful, especially during the winter time! They had robes, towels and other amenities set for us. We really felt comfortable and relaxed in this beautiful cabin! Would definitely go back again! Highly recommend this place!
Dear Jane and Jim,
We loved staying in your beautiful cabin. The setting is so peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed the amazing views of the mountains, our leisurely walks around the farm, being rejuvenated while emerged in the hot tub or rocking in the chairs on the porch and watching all the butterflies in such a natural setting. We also enjoyed exploring the areas attractions ranging from antique shops to Roanoke's Farmer's Market. The cabin is decorated so nicely and had everything one could possibly need. You thought of everything!
Thanks for your gift of hospitality! We will definitely be back and have already encouraged our family and friends to enjoy such a great experience. Continued blessings!
The cabin was the cutest cabin I've ever seen. It was so clean and had everything we could possibly need. We had a very relaxing weekend, and will definitely be returning in the future! :)
My husband and I loved our stay in the Campbell's cabin. It was new, clean, and quiet. I loved the relaxing in the rocking chairs on the front porch with the unspoiled mountain view.
Jim and Jane have created a beautiful, charming, peaceful, and well-appointed haven; they've simply thought of everything! The area is lovely with the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in the backdrop at every turn. From the porch of the cabin we saw graceful deer each morning, cardinals, goldfinches, and even an indigo bunting! We also saw a raccoon, rabbits, and oh so many butterflies. There was a bit of rain every day of our stay, but even that proved delightful, bringing with it a beautiful double rainbow, pittering and pattering on the roof, and a reason to just be still and enjoy the peace and quiet. Nearby we enjoyed hiking at the Peaks of Otter, poking around Black Dog Salvage in Roanoke, fishing at Smith Mountain Lake State Park, and a visit to the D-Day memorial in Bedford. As well, the locals were friendly and Jim and Jane were so helpful and gracious. Our stay was nothing less than delightful :)
We came to visit the surroundings and found a comfortable, clean, renewing rest each evening at this quaint cabin. If you desire "to get away from it all" this is the place.
The kitchen was well stocked, the bathroom roomy and clean. Enough amenities to not have to bother packing much more than some deodorant and tooth care with your clothing.
One of our favorite parts was listening to the rain on the roof each night, ferocious the first night and gentle the second. We were sorry to have to leave and anxious to return.
Jim and Jane were especially helpful with suggestions of things to do during our stay.
We are 25 minutes from Roanoke and 45 minutes from Lynchburg. Smith Mountain Lake is about 25 minutes from us and there is boating, fishing and you can take a ride on the Virginia Dare.
We are close (35 minutes) from the James River and you can go canoeing and kayaking there.
