Comfortable updated condo in small townhouse community with a total of 32 units.
Windsong Villas is a beautiful complex built in the old Florida Spanish style architecture. It is located inside Amelia Island Plantation with access to walking trails, bike trails, golf, and tennis. Windsong Villas have a beautiful heated pool and are right on the beach. Unit 1402 is over 2400 square feet and is approximately 150 feet from the beach. There is plenty of parking. This villa is 4 bedroom with 3 1/2 baths. There is a large master bedroom and bath on the first level with a patio. The laundry room is also located on this level as well as a closet for beach towels, tennis rackets, etc. The kitchen, den, and dining area are located on the second level as well as a half bath. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a nice pantry. There is also a patio on this level and a table for outside dining. There are 3 bedrooms on the top level and 2
full baths. One of the bedrooms is set up with a king size bed and has a private bath. Another bedroom has 2 queen size beds and shares a bath with the small bedroom with the single bed. This villa will sleep 9 people comfortably.
We have been going to Amelia Island Plantation for over 35 years and have found Windsong a choice location. It has a very private feel amongst a larger community. The pool is usually quiet and large enough to swim short laps; there is a shaded area nearby, to avoid too much sun. The beaches are beautiful and always uncrowded.
This particular unit is nicely decorated, albeit on the dark side. It is adorned with beautiful artwork. It is situated so that it has nice views of the ocean from most of the windows. The living area has generous seating, tho it could use brighter light fixtures to aid in reading or playing games. The beds are very comfortable. (In fact, I took note of the brand of mattress on which we were sleeping!) The kitchen is reasonably well stocked but we were surprised that there was no toaster. We felt that particular area could have been better organized and with a sense of cleaner drawers and cabinets. There is a garage, but it is filled with the owners' items, so not usable for parking a car, tho useful for our extra beach items, etc. We stayed in the lower bedroom and were a bit disappointed that more than half the dresser drawers were filled with the owners' clothing, resulting in our need to continue to use our suitcases for much of our personal storage. The driveway up to the unit is very tight but it's nice to be able to have a parking place close to the front door. Despite some of the the "cons" listed here we would have little reservation in booking here again, tho we understand that is it listed for sale. It is a nice family gathering space in one of our favorite locations.
This was our first trip to Amelia Island and absolutely loved it. The Plantation has a fantastic family atmosphere with plenty of amenities for everyone. We took advantage of great weather to explore the entire plantation area and spent quite a bit of time at Drummond Park - playground, basketball, trails and more. The Omni resort is nice to visit but really not necessary.
This condo was perfectly suited for our vacation. We had 5 adults and 3 kids and the layout worked out very well for us. The condo layout is as described - 3 bedroom, 3.5 bath oceanfront. There is plenty of parking available. The owner responded very quickly to emails.
Highly recommend this condo if visiting Amelia Island!
Well maintained property, beautiful ocean view, easy beach access, convenient condo pool. This condo is a great rental for families. The owner responded promptly to inquiries and check-in was simple. The listing description was accurate.
Most impressive in person. Great, spacious condo with amazing views from all floors. Owners were very easy to get in touch with if you need anything. Overall, great condo in windsong and would recommend it.
We just returned from our second trip to Amelia Island. This visit to one of the larger villas was a nice contrast to the Omni Hotel, where we stayed on our prior visit. Our villa was very clean and comfortable, with all of the amenities you could want for a large group or family.
The villa was right along the Atlantic and the Omni's ocean front golf course, with views of the ocean right out our windows, and the beach access right out the patio door. You don't just see everything right off the doorstep, you can sense the natural environment and even hear the waves among the peacefully quiet surroundings. You can also enjoy the nice pool that's just for visitors to this community. Quiet and private when you want, but not too crowded when the kids want to have some fun.
The owners keep this place very nice, and I was surprised how quickly we felt right at home (deep oversized living room sofas, comfortable beds, nice appliances). Normally it takes awhile to adjust to a new space or someone else's home, but none of my family thought twice about it. We took right to it.
We also got to enjoy the usual amenities we like at the Omni resort, including golf, tennis, dining, segway/bike rentals, even the golf cart rental... As happy as we were in the hotel before, the villa is really a great alternative for people travelling together. Shop locally, cook in, and make yourself at home. Another nice benefit of a villa stay is the conveniences of a laundry as well as a kitchen. I feel we don't overpack when we have a washer/dryer available as we did here. No need to bring extra clothes or bags. So much less stress lets you enjoy your time and the trip there that much more.
When you want to get out, it's always easy to drive or bike other places on or near the property. We enjoyed Easter Brunch at the Ritz-Carlton property down the road, but we still prefer the amenities and pace of the Omni Resort. Less fuss, and the family and natural environment of the property makes you so relaxed. We found some great restaurants as well this time that were "new" to us.
This can become our go-to destination. This villa can comfortably handle larger families, but we were spoiled to have such a big place for your 'small' group of 4.
The owners were very helpful in the arrangements and logistics. We'd definitely recommend this villa to anyone for an Amelia Island visit.
Beautiful Villa, pictures do not do it justice, so much nicer than expected. Large living area, lots of room and plenty of closet space. View on all three floors is incredible and all sliding doors also have screen doors. Owner is very response and thorough. Wonderful Location!
