The Duck Lake Cabin was built over a few years starting in 2006 using the latest in building techniques with the intent of having a warm, comfortable place in all kinds of weather. My wife and I have fished, hiked and biked all around the area for over 25 years and have come to love the area and all the amazing things to do here. We started out buying a small cabin in the 80s and found out that we needed to build something bigger since a lot of friends were showing up. The Duck Lake Cabin has two bedrooms both equipped with Queen -size beds and a full bath upstairs. The modern gas fireplace casts a warmth around the upstairs. The living room is a open floor plan with a giant dining table adjoining the fully operational kitchen. Downstairs has a gas fireplace also with two full beds, large shower,sauna-steam room washer-dryer and garage. We are just minutes from the east side GNP entrances, Many Glacier and St. Mary's.

My wife and I have lived in Montana since the early 80s.We have spent our spring, summer and fall in Montana and our winters in Alta,Utah. We owned a raft company for a long time and continue to enjoy floating the beautiful rivers in our state.
Lew and Cheryl Moore purchased this house in 2006
We feel that this is the most beautiful place in Montana!
Walk across the street and catch huge rainbows! Get on your mountain bikes and ride the local trails. Pick a peak from the front porch and climb it! Minutes from Many Glacier and St. Mary's park entrances.
Our North Carolina "Hardy Hikers" stayed ten days at Lew and Sheryl's Duck Lake cabin. Our group of seven found the accommodations more than adequate. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils and dinnerware for preparing meals, the furnishing are very comfortable and the sleeping is perfect for up to eight.
East entrance to Glacier National Park is easily accessed from the cabin.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would recommend any group of up to eight staying at Duck Lake.
If you like beautiful mountains, gorgeous sunrises, fantastic sunsets, amazing star-filled nights, and double rainbows , then this is the place for you. And that's just what's OUTSIDE the house. Inside the house feels like home. Cheryl and Lew provide you with an extremely well equipped kitchen, comfortable furniture throughout the house (I especially loved the cozy comforters on the beds), and decorative touches which perfectly fitted the log cabin home. During our stay, Cheryl and I exchanged numerous text messages. She seemed genuinely interested in our daily excursions and made several helpful suggestions.
During one rainy day, we decided to stay "home" and just relax. We didn't feel like the day was wasted at all! We had a great day enjoying this wonderful log cabin and its beautiful surroundings.
I highly recommend this rental. My husband and I will be back for sure!
We had a great stay here! The cabin is wonderful: very peaceful, clean, cozy, spacious with plenty of room for the six of us (2 parents and 4 adult kids). The well stocked kitchen was terrific - we packed our lunches every day and enjoyed family dinners each night after returning from long hiking days. There is an amazing view of the mountains behind the house; we saw some spectacular sunsets from the porch (and enjoyed seeing the local cows and horses roaming past the house!). It's a really easy drive into Many Glacier and St Mary's. We got the best of both worlds - nice private location, but grocery and convenience stores within a few minutes drive. We had a fantastic stay and would recommend Lew and Cheryl's cabin to anyone looking to explore the park or relax!
Cheryl and Lew, Thank you so much for a perfect stay at Glacier National Park. We loved the location of the cabin and availability to East Glacier hiking. Many Glacier is our favorite. The Cabin was fully furnished with all kitchen supplies (we cooked inside the cabin most of our stay for breakfast, lunch and dinner) and the rooms & bedding made our stay very comfortable. The size of your cabin allowed our parents and children to spread out and enjoy themselves. Your hospitality was excellent and we appreciated the personal tour of the cabin and area upon our arrival. We highly recommend this location for a Montana get a way. However, like previous reviewers - would love to keep this best kept secret to ourselves!! Thanks for sharing your home. We can't wait to come back. Sincerely, Carrisa and Jason Scott & LeeAnn and John McCoy
Glacier National Park is amazing! My husband and I began our pilgrimages west nearly 20 years ago and we have enjoyed some fabulous trips. We rented in East Glacier and Polebridge. We stayed in lodges at Lake McDonald, Many Glacier and even a motor lodge along the way that will remain anonymous but kitchy-charming. After our 2014 stay and 25 mile one way drive to the park, we found ourselves noticing the Duck Lake sign just outside the park entrance. "Next year we are going to be at Duck Lake!" There was no better place to land than Lew and Cheryl's cabin! The 240 degree view includes the marquis mountains of the east side and simply cannot be beat. Cheryl was on hand to provide guidance and suggestions for the week and answer any questions we may have had. Our four adults (including 2 locals) and four kids found the 3 BRs perfect for our group.
While I'm not ready for the secret of GNP to be completely revealed, this is the most precious hidden gem we have found yet! We will be back next year!!
The Duck Lake cabin is very, very nice and Lew and Cheryl are wonderful hosts. The house was very comfortable, beautiful, and the views were beautiful. Everything worked as it should. The access to Glacier National Park was very convenient as we hiked everyday. We enjoyed the nearby restaurant "Two Sisters" and the Farmers Market on Wednesday. The hosts were very helpful in communicating with us when we had questions - before and during our stay. We hope to return to this cabin when we visit Glacier again.
Loved staying on this property.. Clean and has everything that you need! Hope to get back here soon! Cheryl and Lew are wonderful.
Our beautiful cabin was built in 2006 by Lew ,Cheryl and friends. It was originally built to access the amazing fishing that is known around the world for its trophy trout. As time went on we began to realize all the other things that make this place so special. Hiking in Glacier Park is world renown and the wildlife viewing from the decks and in the park is unforgettable. Spending time indoors and outside in this area is truly unforgettable. One of our favorite past times after a day of fishing, hiking or biking is watching the magnificent sunsets from our covered decks.
