Benji & Ashley Boessel purchased this house in 2015
We purchased this property because of the million dollar view, just a minute from downtown Waynesville. One second you are in a neighborhood behind downtown and the next moment you're on top of the ridge looking over the valley.
You will fall in love the views, location, inside decoration and outdoor living area. We designed this to feel like home, and not a weekend stay.
The Boessel Lodge, was a perfect escape for the weekend, very close to Downtown, but the home's high elevation has a beaufiful view of Waynesville. The lodge was significantly more spacious than the pictures show online, the decor is beautiful and the home itself impeccable. As stated online, we had use of the bikes, and the hammock out front with a view of the mountains. Great outdoor space right outside our door, including the fire pit. Peaceful, private and very quiet. The full kitchen and roomy bedrooms made for a great stay. Information on local things to do was a wonderful tool during our stay. Our favorite bonus was Gracie, the lodge's outdoor bundle of love dog. We would definitely love to return for a stay at the Boessel Lodge, and highly recommend this home.
I stayed at Boessel Lodge with my boyfriend and sister for 3 nights while we were visiting Maggie Valley and the Smoky Mountain National Park. The location was very convient to both, and the hosts were very quick to reply when I inquired how long it took to get the museum. The accomodations were a nice size for 3 adults, but would be on the small side if you had children. The beds were comfortable, but the bedrooms definitely would benefit from an additional night stand (only one per room) and a dresser or table to put suitcases on. The lack of furniture in the bedrooms was clearly shown in the pictures, but you don't miss them until you keep your things on a concrete floor for 3 days. The noise from the owners upstairs was not too bad - we just turned up the volume on the TV in the evenings. Everything seemed clean, however I was the first to use the shower and I stepped on a plastic cover for a razor. Also, the water tasted awful - not the owners fault, but you should definitely bring bottled if you drink a lot of water.
The house was perfect. It was minutes from Lake Junaluska, Waynesville, and Maggie Valley. What a treat to be able to sit outside each morning for breakfast and enjoy the gorgeous view of the mountains. In the evening we were able to enjoy the evening breezes as we sat outside gazing up at the moon and stars. Inside the accommodations were just as we expected. The house was decorated beautifully. The beds were comfortable. The shower in the bathroom was awesome. It was so nice to be greeted by Gracie, the owners Golden Retriever. She is a gentle and loving creature. Thank you for sharing your home with us. It was a great week.
We had a great weekend in Waynesville and the house had everything we needed. It was clean and had plenty of space. We enjoyed walking to town as well.
Very comfortable...our dogs really enjoyed the stay and the resident dog, Gracie...a real sweetheart
The property was beautiful and very well maintained. It was fully equipped with everything and beautifully decorated. It was so peaceful and the scenery was grand. The owners were very helpful but maintained their distance. We were greeted almost every morning by their very patient and calm dog, Gracie. She was wonderful with our little miniature dachshund who was so fiesty. I will definitely keep them in mind for next time.
Tons to do around Haywood County and the surrounding cities. Everything is a few mountains away, so don't be afraid to travel a little.... to see alot!
