SAN TEODORO RESIDENCE is so much more than just a place to change and store your luggage. It will be an integral part of your Naples experience. The apartment is located in Palazzo San Teodoro on the Riviera di Chiaia, the residential that borders Naples' attractive waterfront. King Ferdinand IV took a liking to the Chiaia area in the 1700s and it subsequently became favoured by noble and aristocratic families. Their neoclassical palazzi overlooking the sea are still visible today along the magnificent waterfront.
Palazzo San Teodoro was designed in the early 19th century by Gugliemo Bechi, the renowned Tuscan architect who also designed the Royal Villa for the Bourbon royal family. The terrace overlooks the spectacular public gardens of the Royal Villa.
San Teodoro is situated in the heart of the elegant Chiaia district . It is a perfect base for holidays, business trips, or blissful relaxation. The location is comparable to that of Bond Street and Knightsbridge, Fifth Avenue, or the Champs Elysées. An exclusive pedestrian shopping area is conveniently located right behind the Palazzo, and the funicular transport for accessing areas further afield is just a few minutes walk away. The best of Neapolitan restaurants, bars, cinemas, and music venues are literally right on your doorstep.
The apartment is completely furnished, and the kitchen is fully equipped . There is both heating and air conditioning, a dish washer, a washing machine. Wi fi and sky. It is eco friendly and and you will be sure to feel right at home.
The bedroom has a queen size bed with allergy free pillows and bed linen, there are two large wardrobes, and natural light. In the living room the sofa is large and comfortable, and there is a complete entertainment system. On the terrace there is a table and chairs, and loungers, a barbecue , plants and flowers.
The house is reached by a lift, or steps, and on prior request, parking is, more often than not, available within the building.

Ciao! I'm Laura, the owner's daughter.
I'm 21 years old, I'm studying Political science and international relations, and I love Napoli.
I was born in Tuscany, but as my parents are from Napoli, we moved back here when I was 8 years old. In time I started to love this city, and slowly discovered every single corner and the endless hidden secret places ...
I'm also very passionate about food, and I love cooking.
At the moment I'm taking a theatre class in which i'm having lots of fun and learning very interesting things, like how to be more confident and how to work on emotions, or how to speak without words.
I really appreciate this opportunity of working with my mum and taking care of the apartment, and being part of lots of people's adventure here in Napoli.
As I'm incredibly in love with this city, I'll try my best to make you see what I see, and make you fall in love too! Once you will do so, you will always want to come back , as you will find the need of the crazy beautiful and indescribable Neapolitan magic atmosphere.
ELENA BASILE purchased this apartment in 1800
This property passed down through the generations. We just love it.
The view, the sea, the clarity of the morning light, the depth of the afternoon light that drifts timelessly into the most dramatic sunset imaginable, the sudden spontaneous firework displays that in any other city would only signify new years eve, but in this city a child's birthday or a prisoner's release after a stretch in the can is enough. It's wonderful to go to the market for fresh vegetables and fish and then return to the apartment to cook in the bright and airy kitchen with the doors wide open and then enjoy the delicious mediterranean cuisine out on to the terrace with crisp Napoletan wine like Greco di Tufo or Falanghina.
The terrace is the perfect place to relax , chat, read or simply gaze out over the park where children play and young lovers walk hand in hand .
My wife and I just completed a 9 day stay at this wonderful apartment in the very beautiful city of Naples. As with many Americans, we had read all the bad press regarding Naples. We approached our stay with a bit of trepidation. Simply put, Naples is a beautiful city that was very clean, safe, and full of kind, thoughtful people. Unlike many other cities in Italy, Naples is not filled with tourists, so you truly feel as if you are part of the community. i will not go on about the city other than to say, if you have ever thought of coming but were dissuaded because of what you have read about dirt and crime, it is simply not true, or no more true than can be said for New York, London, etc.
As far as the apartment, it is perfect for two people. It is on the top floor of a very old building. There is a private elevator that takes you directly to your apartment. The apartment is very modern with many built-ins that make superb use of the space. It is furnished in a very contemporary style and equipped with everything you could possibly need. There is an expansive terrace that has excellent views, gets lots of sun every morning. Even in December, we were able to have our morning coffee on the terrace. The location in Chiaia is beautiful. The area is residential, but very close to all the action of Naples (Piazza Plebescito, the Lungomare, Vomero). There are several very good restaurants within just a couple of blocks and 2 grocery stores that are also close by. There is a taxi stand and a major stop for many city buses just a block away. Finally, Laura is wonderful to work with both before and after arrival. We recommend this apartment very highly and would certainly return the next time we are in Naples.
This was our second visit to this apartment, having stayed for 7 nights in 2015 we had to return again this year for a further 9 nights and found it just as good as last time.
I can only replicate my review I left in August 2015 in the standard of the apartment and the communication with the owner who on this occasion was Laura (Elena's Daughter) in a word excellent.
This time we got a flight into Naples and used a company called “Naples Airport Transfers” to transfer us to the apartment, they were at the airport waiting for me and also prompt on collection from the apartment on departure.
We used Trip Advisor’s map on nearby restaurants all within walking distance to choose where we were eating each evening and was never let down with the quality of food served with varying differences in costs. Although all restaurants were great, I would recommend trying Sobillos for a pizza, this is just across the street on the promenade, you may have to wait to be seated, but I only have two adjectives to describe the pizza’s “big” and “fantastic”.
Check out the Funicular’s to get around the city, they are all within walking distance and very inexpensive to use. The local bus service is nearby and also inexpensive and the ferries to Capri & Sorrento again are within walking distance.
My review maybe a little late in posting, well its only been 5 months since I was at this apartment, but I seem to never have the time to upload one, anyway it’s that time of year again to look for next year’s holiday and I know how important reviews are for us travellers and would recommend this apartment and Naples to anyone.
Everything was perfect and exactly as advertised. Laura could not have been any nicer.
I want to thank Elena and her lovely daughter for making us feel so welcome. The apartment was perfect and had everything we needed. The location excellent. I cant say enough about how lovely our stay was and the beautiful large terrace a bonus. Before arriving in Naples we were told how dirty and unsafe it was which made me a bit apprehensive. The fact of the matter is this, like any big city, you have affluent areas and poorer areas, Naples is a beautiful city and we enjoyed everything it had to offer.During our stay we did day trips to the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius. Each place beautiful and interesting. We hope to return to Naples and will certainly look to rent this lovely apartment again. Thank you. With warm regards, Peggy and Bill Bohn
A short taxi ride from the port of Naples or hop on the 151 bus. .everything was as described. .comfortable chic place in beautiful part of Naples. .would definitely recommend and would love to have a repeat visit.
This apartment is stunning, the interior design is amazing and the location just perfect for a holiday in Naples. The terrace, overlooking a park and then onto the sea, is huge and made the apartment seem even bigger. Laura is lovely and gave us loads of information and amazing places to eat, exactly the sort of places we were looking for, also some good advice on arriving at the popular pizzerias early so we didn't have to queue! And then there is Umberto the concierge who is also very helpful. The apartment is really well equipped, the kitchen has absolutely everything you need, and then some. To be absolutely honest we felt its time the apartment had a coat of paint, but that didn't spoil anything and shouldn't stop you renting it. If you do spend some time in Naples get on a ferry and go to the island of Procida, it is the most beautiful island we have ever seen, picture postcard through and through. If we do visit Naples again we will stay in Laura's apartment - that's for sure. Thank you Laura xx
The building is neoclassical in style and dates from the early nineteenth century. Is is located opposite the Royal Gardens and the promenade is a great place to walk and cycle. The historical centre is a twenty minute walk. The Teatro di San Carlo, famous for its opera season, the National Archaeological Museum and many theaters and art galleries, are easily reached by foot or public transport.
If you love food, and like cooking, there is wonderful fresh produce, at nearby market stalls, green grocers, fish mongers and butchers. An excellent supermarket, Sapori e Dintorni, is the nearest place to get all you need in one place.
For bigger traditional markets, and a real neapolitan experience, there are many markets throughout the city.
There are many restaurants as well as bars and wine bars where you can enjoy an aperitif , both within the myriad of little streets and along the seafront.
The apartment is high-tech, albeit restored with a concept of eco architecture, so there are no chemical residues. The terrace is very large, giving a view of the bay and the island of Capri, and also the upper part of the city with such wonders as Castel Sant 'Elmo and the Floridiana Villa Lucia. The building is guarded day and night and the atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming.
