RECENTLY we have upgraded to a Queen memory foam mattress that is less firm then the one past reviewers have commented on. We have been Lynchburg residents for over 7 years and offer a wealth of suggestions for food and other activities to pass the time. One of us is a former Liberty University student, while the other currently works for our local church. Let us make your stay in Lynchburg an enjoyable one.
Originally from Northern Virginia, Peter and Traci have lived in Lynchburg since 2008. We are actively involved in our church where Peter is on staff. Traci enjoys singing and helping with the children's program. Peter also teaches guitar and other music classes at a local homeschool co-op. Traci is a former Liberty University student and has spent the last decade and a half working with nonprofits helping them to fundraise more effectively.
Peter & Traci purchased this apartment in 2008
This rental property is situated in a friendly subdivision where people still wave at each other when they come and go from the neighborhood. The neighborhood is known for its fantastic annual yard sale and Halloween trick-or-treating. All of which make it the quintessential all American neighborhood.
This rental property has its own private entrance into the living area. Unlike other properties and hotels, with no additional effort you can enjoy a scenic view of Lynchburg on your way to Liberty University. It's a great way to enjoy the city.
The basement apartment looks like the pictures in that is spacious yet, cozy and clean. I really liked how Peter and Traci respect privacy and boundaries. When I had a minor issue, I called Peter, and he handled it the same day. I appreciated his sense of urgency with the matter. I would recommend this apartment to students and visiting parents because it's 10 minutes from campus.
I would definitely stay again!
Thanks again Peter and Traci!!
Very nice space. Bed was ultra-comfy!
Enjoyed my stay
The owners went out of their way to be sure we had everything we expected we'd need for our stay and then some. The place was neat and clean!! We wanted to spend lots of time at Liberty University and the location here was perfect for that! Thanks for a wonderful stay at a very reasonable cost. Bless you, your family and your beautiful home.
Great apartment that was very close to Liberty. It was clean and the owners were always available if I needed anything. I slept well and it was a very quiet place for when I was studying. The owners also offered extras such as coffee and water. Would stay there again.
The studio basement is in a very nice neighborhood and close to town for visiting our daughter at Liberty University. It is a nice size and much bigger than you would get in a hotel room. There was a few draw backs I must address. I have rented vacation rental homes for many years all over the world, so I take reviews very seriously to be able to determine if this is a place I want to stay. We know when staying in hotels they must abide by certain regulations. With these vacation rentals we have only the reviews to go by. Many times people don't leave a review because they don't want to leave a negative. The queen mattress that was the only bed in the studio was not comfortable at all. It sqeeked every time you moved. There was an air mattress that another person slept on in the living area and our sqeeky bed even kept her up all night. By the third night we laid the comforter on the floor and slept. I also didn't feel that is was good communication between me and the landlord. I had called the night before and left a message for them to call me back and they never did. During our three night stay we never saw them for them to follow up with any questions. They live in the house and this was the basement so it was not an inconvience to come see how things were going. They also state they have water in frig and coffee and items to go. Just a note so you are aware we had three people and there were only two bottles of water and two coffee cups. This is not a problem but it would have been nice to have a heads up to purchase these items before I arrived instead of making a trip to town to purchase items.
Our rental is located in a quaint, family-oriented subdivision just on the other side of Candler's Mountain near Liberty University. It is right off US-29 and is only three miles from the local airport. A wide variety of shopping and restaurants are right down the road, including many chain and local restaurants and as well as stores like Target and Walmart.
Liberty University itself is 5 miles from the property. You can add an extra mile and a half to the journey and enjoy a beautiful scenic view while you drive there. Lynchburg College is only 10 miles from this property.
Lynchburg has many historical attractions nearby including Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest, Appomattox Courthouse, National D-Day Memorial, and Pointe of Honor. Additionally, Lynchburg offers many things to keep kids and families entertained. While you are in town be sure to check out what play may be running at Liberty's Tower Theatre or plan on hiking one of the many trails this area has to offer.
